Zinfinion was last online 4 years and 3 weeks ago, and a random check of zinfinion's other sets also have the same broken images and links. Those would have to be tagged as irregular "Lost in Action" and be open for re-submission if the users are still around or replacement by other users. I did all 6 just because it wouldn't be a "set" if I did only 4 :p Beside consistency may be desirable to some people.

LDD 4.3.9 bugs and issues
Lego Otaku replied to JC75's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
http://peeron.com/scans/6955-1/9 Step 13, sub-assembly #4 I couldn't get the 1x4x2 fence to snap on at all even though it was used officially that way. I tried to float the fence over it and it just wouldn't go through the antenna, it seems there's odd collision with the antenna and the fence holes? Maybe the fence holes are not proper holes but only stud connection and can't go through any poles? Or maybe LEGO doesn't allow this anymore? -
Not much you can do there. You could ask them to credit you for the original work. If they insist they made it themselves, remind them that all the grouping (if used) and parts including errors are the same as yours. Beyond that, let it be. We could try to steer people away from offending sites and suggest they look here on Eurobricks forum first for anything including the massive LDD model collections.

LDD 4.3.9 bugs and issues
Lego Otaku replied to JC75's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
3957 Antenna 1x1x4 will not stay in 4595 Modified 1 x 2 x 2/3 with Studs on Sides. The pointed end of antenna are often inserted into the large open end of the brick (used a lot in early space sets) but when I open the project, it gets removed. Since it was accepted in LDD, and was used a lot by LEGO officially, it should have been legal and valid connection so there's no reason it gets removed. Something is screwy here :/ in Space Police-1 set 6895, in the instruction step 13 the steering assembly couldn't be mounted as directed, there is unexplained collision between 2 inverted slopes and technic axle. Yet it works in real design, I suspect the collision area was set too large either with the axle or the slopes. Moving the 2 inverted slopes 1 studs away or removing the axle works but the completed set will not "steer" as LEGO intended. -

Not my video: Someone opened the box and did a quick thumb through of the instruction and showed poly bag inside the box. I was trying to assemble based on half of the instruction but I couldn't figure out how the back part were done and left a few gap, and I am not 100% sure I got the neck part of the space slug right as the video was a little too quick on page flipping and skipped some pages. LDD file: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Lego-0taku/ldd/slug_monster.lxf Total 153 pieces as it is, should be 161 so the 8 pieces probably all go to the back part of the wall. -
https://ideas.lego.com/projects/138271 Seems like in less than 2 weeks it's gotten almost half of the required 10k votes. Could we be looking at a new record for quickest 10k votes?

LDD 4.3.9 bugs and issues

1920x1080. Pretty much common standard these days for single monitor desktop or better laptops. There are bigger display such as 2560x1600 and even the 4k displays (3840 pixels × 2160) but that's more of gaming or high end photo or video editing. I do have another 1920x1080 display that I can hook up and stack on top to get 1920x2160 desktop but not all apps play nice with multiple display mode. -
But what if it'd be something that get used maybe 1 hour per week and mostly for resizing, editing out background, and other stuff? Nearly everything could also be done with Microsoft Paint which is free and comes with Windows for a few decades now. The more advanced stuff is rarely used like filters, shifting colors, brightness and contrast changing, etc. At my point, Gimp is better because if I were to break down Photoshop usage, it would end up being about $2-$3 per hour for very "easy" stuff.

Do you know how many LEGO do you have?
Lego Otaku replied to SrChuck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have around 500 pounds (230Kg) and no way am I going to count them. Going by an average of 325 pieces per pound, it is easily in the range of 162,000 pieces give or take several thousands. -
Palm leaves! Why can't I get any from my local stores? I've seen a lot of 3 stemmed plants with flowers on sprue, and I once packed up 2 large cup full of 1x1 green brick with 3 bamboo leaves. But palm? Never seen em.

They have not been able to do so for a few years or so. It was to fight hostile sellers who leaves revenge feedback because the buyer complained about excessive shipping charge, a ding not described, or other issues. Before the change, some buyers often refused to leave any feedback for bad seller because of fear of getting revenge negs and that kept the seller looking "good" artificially.

New part idea - 1 x 3 jumper plate
Lego Otaku replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I already asked for it a year earlier: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45361&st=200#entry1939220 Still hoping LEGO would take a hint. They did release a couple parts that were mentioned in that thread like 1x4 masonry profile brick, and releasing them in dark red color to match the common brick color. -
LDD 4.3.9 bugs and issues
Lego Otaku replied to JC75's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
When using standard LDD, I can't scroll through list of printed item. I had to switch to extended mode to get scroll working and even then, if I stopped scrolling, sometimes I can't resume and have to restart. -
But how many of them actually paid for the right to use Photoshop? I am willing to bet a few here has illegal downloaded copy. The last legal version I had was Photoshop 5 for Macintosh. I've relied on free version like Gimp since then, it works and if they start watching download sites, I won't be hit with penalty like RIAA lawsuit about 10 years ago.

Yep, NEW LEGO store in Michigan, this one is about 30 minutes closer to me than the one in Troy. In the south-east corner of Great Lakes Crossing mall (area #6) is the new LEGO Discovery Center which is huge compared to regular store. The store pictured is roughly same as most other LEGO store but the discovery area (requires admission to enter) is huge. I didn't go in the discovery area, it didn't seem fun to go by myself and be surrounded by about 100 preschoolers that gets too excited easily. PAB wall is 14 bin wide and 8 bin tall with a few in the middle not used for parts. I didn't note what was available as a couple seems empty already (today was first day for public) but I did snag a lot of 2x2 dark grey tiles and a lot of 1x6x5 white panels. They had just about every current color except for trans-black and trans-green. No 1x1 round tiles or plant stuff. With Easter just a couple days away, this store is sure to be quite busy.

Not as much fun as I thought but I got it 25% off so the parts are worth it. The set are OK and won't fall apart easy if you have little kids to play with it. But overall it could use some work. If I were to guess, I think LEGO was forced to make this a little dumbed down just to have a set in the $20-$30 range. Nice number of trans-orange parts and it is fairly recognizable as something from SW:ESB. But I wouldn't get this set unless they were under $20 and mostly for parts.

Still seeking monorail parts so I can do the 3 monorail sets properly.. Long straight, short straight, straight with switch, full curve, both half curves, both Y tracks, and both ramp parts plus the base and boogies and motor assembly. Oh yeah the tall stanchion. Short stanchions are in LDD since they are still used in many other sets.

Technically I never stopped being fan, I only stopped getting LEGO from early 90s till mid 2000 because I didn't have the money or the space.

LEGO Parts Not Available In Sets?
Lego Otaku replied to Boettner Builds's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There had been odd parts that were never produced officially but made for Legoland such as a "T" shaped plate 3 studs by 5 studs. -
Problem is with LDD. It wasn't coded to be efficient or to use more than 1 core. It was originally coded for making small project that you could then buy through LEGO with custom made box and manual. That feature was discontinued and LEGO has continued to support LDD since then for free for our pleasure but it still chokes on large or complex project. My computer waves white flag when I try to open a monster 39,000 part project and my computer (while old) still outperforms the best computer Best Buy and Walmart can sell. I think the record largest file I opened without crashing was 125k parts, it took some 30 minutes just to finish loading and another 30 minutes to finish displaying on screen. It would be nice if LDD 5 were redone to use more cores. When LDD was first created, computer with 2 cores were just coming out and we now have basic model with 4 or 8 cores plus high end computer that can easily have more than 24 cores. POV-Ray already uses more cores for rendering, why not LDD?
