The D'Gatto Family (Immediate) - Varlyrio GC1A+B
Spader replied to mccoyed's topic in Guilds of Historica
Love the intro here, might have to have Orsen Waythe meet some of these fine people..... -
Not to beat a dead horse but that organ is legit

The bottom feels a touch plain, but the stonework on floors 2 & 3 is very satisfying.

I really love the look here, reminds me of some of the architecture I saw of Turkey. Keep up the good work!

I actually really like the overhang here - it lends realism to the landscape.

You scaled this really well.

Stowaways - The Lion's Eye Chapter 2 - Varlyrio GC2A
Spader replied to mccoyed's topic in Guilds of Historica
I agree with previous commenters, this feels like Varlyrio. Like the story too. The only critique I would have is some of the space seems really condensed, but otherwise excellent job. Keep up the good work!- 20 replies

Thanks! I was trying to make it seem as though he was standing in shallow water, as waves went over his boots. I see your point on the cobblestone, it's the first time I've ever tried that design. Thanks so much for the feedback!

That window glass is lit, and the family looks like an interesting one.

I love the round door, and nice use of that Ninjago torso. Looking forward to seeing these guys in action.

The sheer scale here is inspiring, let alone the build itself. Excellent work!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Home. The smell of salt water brought a strange peace to me. The sound, too, was one of peace. It was one I had not heard in years. But I was back in Varlyrio, and this time I would not allow myself a quiet exile. The story of my life had not been a happy one. Born the illegitimate son of a Trading Company leader who needed no scandal, I was shuffled off to live with humble folk. Lord Raxus refused my mother aid as she died, refusing to even tell me where she was buried when I finally found out the truth. With plenty of years now insulating him from the fear that any would use me or my mother against him, he had me trained in the art of single combat. He used me as a Ranger, his eyes and ears where he needed them But I crossed a line. Succession in the Company would go to he who married his daughter, as he had no legitimate son. When I told him I would burn in the tallest towers of the Black Spire before I married a half-sister, he sent me into exile. And there I had remained. Until now. The Aarinstahrr, as the leader of the Black Lodge Trading Company was called, had died. And I had been summoned back. I felt, rather than saw the Guard behind me. "Well?" "You are Raxus Orsen Waythe?" "I am." "Then you must come. You have been appointed Aarinstahrr." I smiled. It was good to be back.

Book III - Varlyrio: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Spader replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Finally got a small build to introduce my character. First real episode/build should happen soon enough. My character is Orsen Waythe, and his home town is called Dragorland. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Home. The smell of salt water brought a strange peace to me. The sound, too, was one of peace. It was one I had not heard in years. But I was back in Varlyrio, and this time I would not allow myself a quiet exile. The Aarinstahrr was dead, and I was here to take his place “Raxus Orsen Waythe?” “Indeed.” “You have returned.” “It is time enough I take back what was mine." -
Might as well so here it goes 1. Mad-Eye Moody (sooo much better than the old one) 2. Young Hermione (the closest rendition lego has ever done of her) 3. Lupin 4. Hagrid really is an improvement over the old one. 5. Snape (really like this one better than the 2010 version, which was the only good Snape lego had done at the time)

Book III - Varlyrio: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Spader replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
As much as I loved Mitgardia, I will be joining Valyrio for Book III. Off in the Northeast right now, but as soon as I return I will build my character -
Insanely cool! I love the way you did the Cross

I love the alligator fan, and the build itself is quite nice.

Just got back from Target here in the suburbs of a mid-sized American city, and all the sets were gone. First time this target has ever sold out of legos since I've bought from them (roughly last 8 years). I managed to get an Aragog that had been returned to customer service, but I am just blown away by how fast these things have sold.
