thanks for the video. one to get just for the hockey sticks and goals. those two days caused me to slightly MOC changing seasons swimming pool into an ice hockey game. i had already winterised it last night but just in to a skating pond. now it has goals built in.

what parts would be used to make a track for that train? just a basic oval or similar.

i guess im lucky in that i dont buy near as many sets as others. if its not something i can make fit the winter village, i wont buy. sure, i look and admire and then try and make it fit, but its also easy for me to walk away.

just had a look on the new zealand s@h, and this set is $40NZD dearer than the first release. i paid $99 for the first toy shop, this one is $140NZD. i will still buy it, but the price is a bitter pill to swallow.

you are right, they havent promoted this or any other new lego sets recently. best kept secret i guess...

interesting about the possible recall. maybe i will leave mine sealed for the time being...

i would love to see mary poppins and bert. would be a dream come true to have those two.

toyworld. we went to palmerston north today and they had 5 sets. they had about 12 sets of big bang and maybe 5 sets of birds, which i wasnt expecting to see. palmy north didnt have theirs on the shelf yet. were in a stack by the stockroom door. you can ask on your stores facebook page if they have any. edit: i didnt think to check toyco.

hes available here in new zealand through one store only. hoping to get one tomorrow when i go the nearest one [45min away]. if they dont have him, will order online. $110NZD. not too shabby

ive just had a tidy and minor rebuild of my winter village pieces and managed to strengthen the tree even more than i had it before. ive removed the original base [the red led pieces] and mounted it on a small plate. on the central rod, ive slipped two of those round 4x4 and then over the top slipped one of the yellow cones from the ultra agents helicopter set. then ive put all that on a larger round plate and finally onto the base plate. i can now pick the plate up anywhere and it stays together. given how successful that has been, ive put aside the same pieces for the tree in this set, just in case. the cone looks a bit like a tree skirt. pity its yellow, but doesnt look too ugly. after having a bit of play with things, im now more interested in this set. who doesnt love more toys to put under the tree, or a larger carol group? im not sure if a mirror build would work now, due to how far out the roof sticks. they wouldnt be able to fully butt up together. may still do it and use them as end pieces, with the other shops in between.

im hoping theyve improved the build of the tree, especially the base area. my builds are left constructed year round and then get used in a public display each year. the tree is one thing i have to repair every single time. the roofs are also a pain, they drop off so easily.

niiiice. glad the governor is gone, but at the same time sorry. he was fascinating. good to see you pick a more secondary character than the obvious ones like rick, darryl, carol, michonne etc.

even though i have the original, i will likely pick this one up and try to "mirror build" so the two can butt up to each other, but only one will be a toy shop. the other will be, i dont know what yet! i use these in a model train layout, so maybe this one can be a model supply store? though how to make that obvious i dont know yet. might try and write something with the round 1x1 translucents on the roof or similar. not sure what to do with the second tree. those pieces might end up in with the general lego.

not a lot in this series for me this time. will get bigfoot to act as a cameo on the christmas display hiding with the yetis. will get the witch for her cat and the skeleton guy is just too cute to resist!
