  1. Intricate, delicate and cool little build. However, the picture links does not work for me, only the rebrickable link.
  2. Very nice conversion, retaining the essence of the original design. Great story. Glad to hear that white collar criminals are getting jailed for once.
  3. I felt I had to balance my general pompousness Glad you were able to see the black window. The toughest "color" to photograph. Thank you. It is my first build that have nearly all floors tiled, and my first decent interior. Took me almost a year from start of idea to finished build. The roof was the hardest part, mostly because I did not have a plan for how the practical solution would be, so it took a few rebuilds to get it fastened in a satisfiable way. Thanks! Some details are planned, others out of necessity. It was a very fun learning process, and I think it has helped my creativity. Thank you! Impressions are important When I took the pictures I was thinking that I should have had the stairs the opposite way, so it could represent an economic curve going upwards behind the speaker of the room. *knock on wood* @Elostirion: I had planned to use your sigfig on the podium, but I don't think I have representative pieces for him. Maybe in some of my unsorted bulks. It is not a coup. I repeat, it is not a coup. Also, I discovered that the link for the link to the building I drew inspiration from was broken. Fixed now.
  4. Added the build in the introduction thread. More nice rockwork A fine addition, perfect for the location. A true gem of Fuerte Unido.
  5. Brilliant fold out technique to reveal the inside, and the exterior shape is very nicely Legofied. As KaiNRG said, the colors play well together to create a great atmosphere.
  6. Really great that we got a build showing off the mesmerizing rocky surroundings of Fuerte Unido. Impressive perspective. Trying to study how you made the three is twisting my mind
  7. Bumping this intro thread, so it is easier to find all the collaboration entries.
  8. As usual your ground is solid. The torsos are much better in nondescript tan than green It also makes them resemble sandbags.
  9. Grim scene Cool new twist on the paving. It does add a little more depth. Very promising town square, which I want to see more of. And the gallows are frighteningly accurate.
  10. That statue will haunt Mardier soldiers if they even dare to dream about taking on Eslandola again. Great use of the gear shift pieces for flowers. Seems like it is a good place to study fauna as well as the flora. Nice native contribution with the totems. I assume they are to keep evil spirits away I also wonder where both the red bush piece is from, and the other two color bush? And are they modified from different ones or do they come in bicolor? Oh, and the blue flowers. I don't think I've noticed them in blue before this collaboration. I don't have any in my collection, so where is it from? There must always be a monkey.
  11. I love it You made took the inspiration build, incorporated that into another scene, made it more Lego, and then upped the realism. Gorgeously classic. It embodies the spirit of a school, a church and a town hall at the same time.
  12. That plate base variety emphasizes the builds so much better than regular baseplates. I love how the monumental statues (great niches also) stand tall to greet passersbys and the transition from the gate onto the ground. Firmly rooted Great proposition, layout and composition. Very cool how you bridged your contributions in the last picture.
  13. girlfriends/lovers/wives... Nice one. I like how your different fields symbolizes the diversity in Eslandolan culture. One love, man. One love
  14. Yes, you hit a bull eye with the traditional Trador building style. The subtle color differences, yet good contrast. Especially impressed with the perfect amount of texture. Also, I appreciate that you depict that: Eslandolan education does not fit any single learning system. No matter who you are, or where you come from. There is always a way, and a place, for you in the money making machine of Eslandola!
  15. The Council Hall and Courthouse of Fuerte Unido, designed by Victor Servadac and funded by the White Glove Order, drew inspiration from a building Servadac had passed in his youth on mainland Eslandola. It is part of the Royal Collaboration - Brickwall Memorial Park. Its width and height was a challenge to the builders, but Eslandolan craftmanship had proven to be creative in its ways. Brickwork played a major part in the facade. And the entrance was moderately decorated. Fitting for Eslandolans, who were well known for their modesty. The foyer has a bookcase (mostly accounting and law books, but new history books are being printed), and a cabinet for welcome drinks of different sorts. Today several prominent citizens of Eslandola have gathered to wait for Marquis Alkurda to get to the toast, so they can celebrate and start the feast. Old shipping crates serves as podium for the speaker. There are three reasons for this. First it is a symbol of our deep roots in trade. Second, it is a humbling experience for the speaker. And third, they are free and easily replaceable. The factory window on the south wall let in a lot of light, to keep candle costs down. Going up the stairway, You get a birds eye view on the placement of the council chairs, facing each other in order to create more lively debates. The idea here is that opposing arguments will add more views, so decisions can be made on a better foundation. Upstairs is a room sparsely decorated, where council members can retreat to take a break in the somewhat uncomfortable couch (so they don't take too long breaks), and a desk for letter writing. The statues on the west wing are dedicated to the writers that have accurately recorded Operation KMA, the Eslandola-Mardier war, and forever secured the Brickwall family name in the annals of history. And to an old deluded man with a stick and bone. All C&C welcome.
  16. The war with Mardier had been costly, but Eslandolan perseverance was rewarded with victory. The cost had been extremely high, however, especially for the Brickwall family, whose many members were the (fallen) heroes of several battles. To commemorate the sacrifice of the Brickwalls and the cooperative effort of all the trade companies, several prominent citizens and merchant families have collaborated on a royal park in Fuerte Unido, Eslandola's seat of government on Isla de Victoria. The city itself stands as a testament to the new unified Eslandola. From here they would ring the message of freedom, prosperity, and cultural exchange. The bells echo from the mountains, and messengers have been sent to all the settlements in the colonies that the next session of the Colonial Council would be held here. Included in Brickwall Memorial Park are: -The memorial gates, serving as the entrance to the park and the Avenue of the Brickwalls -The council hall / courthouse, where the Colonial Council will meet -The bell tower, with city administrative offices -The flower garden, where soldiers returning from war can stroll with their girlfriends -The greenhouses, with all the varieties of citrus trees that populate the island's southern coast -The lighthouse, that beams its light towards the path forward -The tropical garden, a place to study the wildlife and exotic plants of Isla Victoria - The Crystal Caves, where you can experience serenity, while you marvel at natures wonders. Links will be added as the different builds get posted.
  17. Pay it forward
  18. Stop posting replies to this post! I am too curious not to check. It is.
  19. I never seize to be amazed. Thoroughly beautiful I am at a loss of words. Unsure if i should be inspired or give away all my Lego (I'll never give away my Lego. Never!)
  20. Lovely vineyard Great main house, both composition and all of the architectural eye candy. I like how you did the open sections, and there is no angle with the dreaded blank flat walls. It looks good both from afar and up close. Fitting name, style and reference for the wine. Reminds me somehow of viñho verde (and also some reds with a floral bouquet that I've tasted in the past but don't remember name).
  21. Glad you all found the colors visually appealing. I had planned it to be full red/light grey, with a black roof. But since I did not have enough red arches, I had to go for yellow. I switched to dark grey since the black contrast to yellow was too hard. I was very unsure about how it would turn out. In full daylight it was a bit much, but in medium/low light it has grown on me to. It might make me dare to do some more color in my future builds. That's no pig. It is a Corrington Diplomat acting like a pig Since I made it bigger than required, I figured a little poke was needed for the sake of balance. Thank you for the feedback
  22. The last build in New Haven was done. It was now ready to be put to good use for the former recidents of old Malto. As Gilroy O’Dougahallahan watched the Corrington diplomat slowly approach, his mind wandered. With utmost concentration he had memorized the speech declaring the peace talk obligations fulfilled, time for healing process for Eslandola, Corrinton free to focus on their own problems, blablabla last night. He could not help wonder what such a building was going to be used for. What did GIN mean? Why had he been sent instead of Victor Servadac, Colonel Oystridge or Marquis Alkurda. All of them knew more about the Malto affairs than he did. What went on in their heads? Well, it did not matter. It was out of his hands soon. Out of the White Glove Orders hands. Out of Eslandolas hands. And into Corringtons... He suddenly jerked to his senses, realizing the Corrington diplomat must have already introduced himself, and now stared at him waiting for a reply. "Here is the key", Gilroy said, handing him the key. "Much obliged", murmured the corrington diplomat. "it is even bigger than I had expected." "Eslandola always delivers on their word. We consider our work here done. Bye.", Gilroy replied, then smiled with closed mouth and waved. The deafening silence was only punctuated by O’Dougahallahans footsteps as he made his way down the path and towards the harbor. OOC: To Corrington: I have not defined the use of the building. It is of medium siza and can be lisenced as anything fitting. With this we have delivered 7 of the 6 required settlement levels from the peace talk agreement. I was in the process of making a factory, but it catched my ear that other types of builds was wished for, so I changed it from a long factory building to a square building that can have many uses. Just find something that can be shortened to GIN
  23. Nice splashes of color, pavement and also the teeth roof. Can you give me a link to a max 100x100 picture, for me to add in the preview post of Puerto Desafio builds?
