Sonic the Hedgehog - Rumours and Discussion
Scarilian replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Licensed
I still think/hope we'll get Metal Sonic and a Brick-built Omega in the Summer 2024 wave followed by the Super versions of Sonic and Shadow in 2025 (After the release of Sonic Movie 3) -
Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I think people need a reminder on scale :p The rumored piece count is 5261 pieces. We are probably going to get something similar to 'Hero Tower', just without the Station and blocky base segment that contained the Iron Man warehouse. Only Quinjet that would scale with that, at that scale, would be the polybag Quinjets... in fact it may actually scale perfectly with them. You can view them here (2012) and here (AoU) - the AoU version which is probably the one you want to display with Avengers Tower is fairly easy to build even if you don't have the polybag, not particularly difficult pieces to get. -

I believe the intent would be that if you got the Helicarrier and Avengers Tower you'd have all the core Avengers from the first Avengers movie. That set includes Loki which I'm guessing is why he's not included here, to incentivise getting both sets. Yeah, I'm curious mostly about how they are going to handle Ultron and the new Hulk. All depends on how well it looks visually though, for me the tower itself is the focus. I need that to look good. -

According to Brickfanatics from a while back, the following figures are 'exclusive' which probably means they are a new version or at least a variation (Noting a variation in terms of the Iron Man suits could be as simple as them using the new helmet piece) Iron Man Suit (Unknown version) Iron Man Suit (Unknown Version) Big-Fig Hulk Vision Falcon The Wasp Ultron Hawkeye Helen Cho Ant-Man Microfig The re-used figures are as follows: Thor Tony Stark Captain America Black Widow War Machine Scarlet Witch Pepper Potts Nick Fury Wong Chitauri Chitauri Chitauri Chitauri Which is 21 Figures, 1 Big-Fig and 1 Micro-Fig. Personally the outliers to me are Wong and Wasp - neither of them appeared at Avengers Tower. Would have swapped them both for Iron Legion Drones as Ultron on his own seems a bit outnumbered here. The Ultron Drones from AoU's sets are still easy to acquire on Bricklink or through resellers thanks to the pack including Iron Man and three of them - so I don't mind them not being included here. I think four Chitauri is fine in this case, though they definitely deserved leg print. -

Still not seen any Marvel CMF's actually in stores, best I've seen is the empty display box of them at a food/retail store. Through talking I discovered they ordered one batch of them and never bothered ordering another as they were all damaged/destroyed by people trying to identify what they were. Now they just fill it with the plastic bags of other CMF series. I doubt they'll stock a series 3 if they end up making a series 3 for the Marvel CMF's. I do updated lists roughly monthly (Previous one) to help cover things, there's quite a few small sets and listings for 2023 and 2024. I believe we're expecting a GWP Taxi for Avengers Tower but other than that we've pretty much covered the year. 76222 was a delayed/cancelled/shelved set from 2022 as per remarks from BrickClicker. It was likely a DC movie set as a similar missing set from that time 76224 ended up being a Flash movie set featuring the Batmobile and Flash that was reworked into Batman Vs The Joker. 76246 was listed on Promobricks and a few other sites at one stage for 2023, but we've heard nothing about it since so lack of information has caused many to expect it's not releasing. It's possible that it's in the same boat as 76222 where it was meant to be a tie-in set that was delayed/cancelled/shelved for whatever reason. It could still release in 2023 though. I keep them on the updated lists, but it is possible they may never see the light of day, though I'm keeping them around until we see the numbers pop up again as it'll be fun to chronicle their journey They spent $130m in the first two months of shooting. Original planned budget was $274m with tax write-off's from filming in the UK which would have dropped it to around $215-$225m. This would be in-line with most Marvel movies, HOWEVER that was before all the delays and the entire film was stated by insiders as being 'reshot fully twice' meaning that original budget of $274m is not what it will have actually ended up costing. Total cost for the film is likely in the region of $500m, effectively another 'No Time To Die' scenario where the cost of reshooting, insuring and delaying the film resulted in the budget ballooning massively, not helped along by script rewrites. I would'nt be surprised if it's break-even is closer to $750m+. @squiz18 @TheJackBricks It's a D2C (Direct To Consumer) set and those sets tend to have a lot more security behind them, both intentionally and due to the process of which they are released to the public. They are generally revealed officially by Lego around 1-2 weeks prior to release, the exception being that sometimes they do a teaser campaign or reveal the set in the background of a designer video. In terms of Avengers Tower, I don't think we've had clarification on a precise release date. We'll likely get clarification of its release date sometime in October and that will determine when we see it revealed. I've seen Brickfanatics list it as November 24th while other sites list it as November 1st. If it's November 1st then we'll probably see it around October 18th-25th If it's November 24th then we'll probably see it around November 10th-17th As for leaks, we could get blurry box photo's like with the Daily Bugle as people seem to have a rough idea of the figures implying something like that exists - though I'm not holding my breath on anything leaking. -

Would'nt be surprised if it's Wolverine (Repeat from 76202), Cyclops (Yellow/Blue outfit, only torso print, blue/yellow legs), Jean Grey (Yellow/Blue outfit, only torso print), and Storm (Yellow/Blue outfit, only torso print, blue/yellow legs, hair down). Examples below for the characters: -

I would'nt be surprised if we get a small display circle the original Avengers in the pose from the first Avengers film given how much nostalgia would help the set sell. I think they'd be daft not to include all the core Phase 1 Avengers, heck, throw in both a Bruce figure with a double-sided face (Transformation face) and a big fig Hulk. The worst pain will be if its a Hulk big fig, but it's just a repeat of the previous big figs rather than an updated one. -

Yeah, could probaby include that instead of the bar area if Lego are unsure about including that. Not sure where it was either >< -

I believe there's a potential Taxi gift with purchase (?) that will be good for scaling the tower with a city. I'd hope the tower display as a solid 360 build, yet have the abiltiy to open to reveal the interior rooms for playability purposes. In terms of aspects I'd hope would be included in some form: Side Build: Chitauri vehicle On Roof: Portal opening/closing device Built Into Roof: Iron-Legion assembly area (could have an Iron Man figure instead) Floor 4: Seating area, Bar Floor 3: Lab area with depiction of Jarvis Vs Ultron lab battle & Vision's Container Floor 1 & 2: Individual Avengers Rooms each area is specific to one of the core Avengers: Cap, Thor, Black Widow, Bruce Banner, Hawkeye and Tony Ground level: Lobby & Table with hologram of the varying Avengers & Stark Industries Sign in the reception area The Daily Bugle has 3,772 pieces and this Avengers Tower is believed to have 5,261 pieces so I feel it has room to have an extra floor. -

Mostly, I do lists every now and again to keep track. In general, January looks like the following: 76275: Venom & Doc Ock ($10.99, 77pcs) 76276: Venom Mech ($15.99, 134pcs) 76277: War Machine Mech ($15.99, 154pcs) 76278: Rocket's Warbird ($34.99, 290pcs) 76279: Spider-man Car ($29.99, 227pcs) 76280: 'No Way Home set' ($34.99, 347pcs) 76281: X-Men Jet ($79.99, 359pcs) 4 figures, no Sentinel 76282: 'Buildable Rocket Raccoon' ($54.99, 566pcs) 76285: $69.99 Along with potentially 76283, we don't know what that is or when it is releasing, and 30679 (A Venom polybag). Could be other things also, but they may be keeping things under wraps. -

Similar viewpoint to Agent Kallus, don't think they produced the mirrored roof corner piece in that colour and the shape prevents simply flipping it for the other side. Looked into mirroring it also, but decided to focus on Hulkbuster modding instead (Still ongoing) -

A few new updates... Added the Venom Street Bike Added 76283 Added the Brickheadz Added the GWP for Avengers Tower Hopefully we'll see Avengers Tower mid/late next month Updated List: It's time to find a different store... Though to be fair, had no luck finding them anywhere anyway. Nowhere seems to stock them. -

I think the idea of the GWP is just to shove a bunch of random mass manufactured and easily producable figures that they have spare into the Avengers Tower through the use of the GWP to incentivize direct purchases from Lego. In which case you'd have Avengers Tower, which would now have the 'Taxi' for scale purposes and to imply city life similar to the Daily Bugle, and it gives you some extra characters to display. Though personally I'd have wanted Ultron Drones or Iron Legion as it does not seem like we'll get them in the tower and they'd make more sense to include. -

I don't think anyone called Goliath being a thing in the CMF, he wasn't even shown until a leaked toy - so we are all equally wrong Moving on from that, what are people's thoughts on the potential for Venomized figures? For me, I like that they'll probably be unique, but I hope they are fully transformed Venomized characters as opposed to the mid-transformation stuff. -

Oof, forgot to remove that part. Have edited it, thanks :) Also, no problem :) Same, I'd rather have a UCS X-Men Blackbird rather than an X-Men Mansion also. As for your suggestion, probably accurate, similar to the Hoopty. Though it's still disgusting Lego are charging so much for these. -

Green Goblin buildable figure having his Glider is interesting, means the buildable figures may be expanding... hopefully towards the rumored Bionicle reboot in 2025 Shall probably wait for the NWH expansion set before getting the NWH sets. Lots of new stuff, mostly for next year... Piece counts for 2024 sets Release dates for 2024 sets Marvel CMF S2 6-pack added Spider-man 4+ sets added Some slight discrepancies on pricing, unclear if from different locations OR price increase Appears to be some price increases as these prices are higher than previously reported... Updated List: Only source I can find is this, unsure where you are getting brick-built Lizard from. -

Yeah, Deadpool is definitely going back to at least the September 2024 release, maybe even the November 2024 release or later... Captain America 4 set will likely be delayed. I doubt the film releases in 2024. -

Lots of new stuff, mostly for next year... Removed August sets from list, as they have released Added info for 2024 sets Appears to be some price increases as these prices are higher than previously reported... Updated List: Calling it now, the buildable Spider-man figure is either Andrew or Tobey's Spider-man, likely Tobey's given Green Goblin also is part of this wave. Unless Lego like to torture us, in which case it'd probably be the final battle suit for Tom... -

For those interested in that Dragon Fly ship from Black Panther, there's a set releasing for Dune called the 'Ornithopter' with around 1369 piece in early November (Revealed late October), depending on design it might be a good basis for a potential fan to create a UCS Dragon Flyer. Left, Dragon Flyer Right, Ornithopter No problem :p -

A few things revealed this month, but just to recap: Captain Marvel 2 set revealed, releasing in October Wolverine display set revealed, is actually his claws, releasing in August CMF figure list updated Reported figure list for Avengers Tower Clarified some details on the X-Men Mansion set Updated List: The only one that may release this year is 76246 as that was listed by Promobricks. 76222 I feel is a DC set lost to time. No hint on other sets other than those in the list above - though we could always get a surprise GWP or Polybag or set that has been kept heavily under wraps as we've had less leaks this year. Normally I just do a 'word find' for my name or 'list' or something like that and go back through pages. I probably need to find a better way of organising these rather than just whenever new information appears or whenever we reach the end/start of a month :p I think we had a Doctor Strange polybag if I remember correctly - 30652. Unless it's something they've kept hidden I don't think we have any polybags or GWP scheduled for Avengers Tower. It's possible they recycle the Doctor Strange polybag if they still have stock of them. I think something like Tahu is possible given we have 12 characters. 12 character so probably something along the lines of the following: (Spoilered for space) -

This set's price per piece is $0.214. To put it into perspective the most popular price per piece calculator's highest label is '$0.19' which is 'Excessive price which should probably be avoided' Movies promote the toys, if less people are seeing the movies then less people are buying the toys. In terms of pricing, there's no logical business justification for it other than that Lego think you are dumb enough to pay for it. -

Lego are now reaching the point where I can't tell if the designers are trying to make something people want or whether they are simply trolling, creating pure abject nightmare fuel like Chewbacca solely because they have too much money and nobody to stop them - reminds me of how Disney treats its franchises nowadays -

I feel for the sake of making it compatable they've sacrificed the scale and accuracy needed to make this desirable. Every aspect feels like it's a weaker version of what we should have gotten. Probably should have been three or four seperate sets. Honestly, most people would make a massive underground cave system to go beneath all of Diagon Alley along with the secret passages, tunnels and basements that the movie implies. -

Kinda feel like it should have been three seperate builds at the moment - the Dragon, Gringotts with side buildings, and the Caves/Vault. Each section kinda doesn't feel like it gets the attention it deserves.
