Corrington: Sign-up and Discussion, Era II
SilentWolf replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
You can claim any rank up to Captain on your own but being an admiral will require loyalty and service to the crown over a period of time. If you are wanting to maintain the admiral rank you have claimed, I would recommend having your character retire to pursue his merchant endeavors or in receipt of land in the new colonies or some similar story hook. The alternate would be to start with a lower rank and hope to receive the promotion. Welcome to Corrington, Bricksfeild. I look forward to seeing your character. -
This is fun to see these builds recreated. I'm looking forward to more.

This is an impressive Western build with all the features one would expect in such a town. The exteriors are well done. Adding interiors is definitely a step above what is expected for a layout like this. The out house is a great touch. I would have preferred a little more minifigure action moving about the town but this is probably more realistic for a real town of the era. I look forward to more Western builds from you. I enjoyed looking at your past builds as well and seeing the progression.

This is awesome. It is true that most westerns seem to portray this so it is a great addition to your town. The colors are well picked and compliment each other. The clothesline is a great touch. Also great way to use the picket fences.

This is a great little schoolhouse. I love the style of the siding and agree thar in the white the cheeseslopes work best. The inclusion of a seeable interior is also great. Nice job on the stove and the blackboard.

I really like this saloon for the eye appeal. It just catches my eye everyone i look at it with the colors and style. I particularly like the sides and how they slant away from the observer. Also nice minifigure selection and posing.

I like the color and varied styles you used for the different buildings. The 2 different styles of clapboard both look great though I'm leaning toward liking the train station style best for its two tone look. My favorite though is the jail.

This vulture style definitely works well in multiple types of settings. Also nice job on making the throwing knife seem in action.

This is a nice little building with great minifug choices and poses. The undertaker is perfect. I also like the collection of headstones he has set up. Is he also the barber? I hear the undertaker were often also the barber.

I hadn't seen this post before now. You did a really nice job putting together this set of western minifigs. I like that you did it by Lego series so other people could attempt similar figures. Nice usage of third party weapons as I especially like the shotguns. In the last set, I really like the guy on the left. He looks like a local businessman or a traveling merchant. I look forward to more western builds from you. I just need to check this forum more often apparently.

[COR FB1 OCT] Cole family in Elizabethville
SilentWolf replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you for showing the design of the bed. I hadn't considered using those pieces before on the ends, so I need to go look if I have them in an acceptable color for future furniture. The closeup pictures are also a great touch as it helps us see all the little details that went into the house. Great job and great story! I look forward to future stories involving the Cole Family. -
[COR-FB] Tomahawk Makers Longhouse
SilentWolf replied to Spud The Viking's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Making a longhouse in actual bricks is no easy feat, which is why I haven't tried it yet. However, you may have inspired me to add that to my list of builds to do. Great way to come up with an artisan that fits well into Elizabethville. The removable roof and walls is a great feature. I have to agree with the above comments that the ice skate was a nice piece usage and the minifigures are well posed. Great job and great story. I especially like that you have included a translator! -
Thank you. Just to be clear it is built on the larger prefab rowboat not the standard ones. Also here are a couple more pictures from above.

[COR FB1 OCT] Cole family in Elizabethville
SilentWolf replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I have replied to the PM, so feel free to update when you have the time. In regards to the build, I like the way the palisade bricks and the normal brown blocks fit so well together. Also great roof technique. I like that the roof removes and you have an interior with the chimney going down through the house. The larger bed is nicely done though I haven't quite figured out how you did the ends. However, the hinged opening of the house is awesome! The pantry with rifle rack, mailbox, fireplace are all things to note. It even has a cellar. This is a great residence and Elizabethville is proud to have it. -
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have seen others use this style before and I thought this was a great time to try them out. Thank you! It actually would 'probably' float in the bathtub though I haven't tried it yet. It might ride a bit low. But in BOBS it is a great sailing vessel. LOL. Thank you! Thank you! It was a fun afternoon challenge to make this rowboat into a sailing vessel. Thank you! It did take an afternoon (and a little of the evening too.) The front was the hardest part for me but in the end it turned out ok. I look forward to your attempt at the rowboat sailboat Thank you! Lots of cargo and lots of maneuver. It is sailing back and forth between all the small cities, just like the story says. Plus it doesn't hurt if I lose it. Though I may have to post about a mourning widow if it sinks.

[COR - FB] East Terran Trade Company Headquarters
SilentWolf replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thank you! It is hard to find a way to fit the old molds in sometimes (trees, panels, big rock pieces) so it is fun to find ways that make them work. Thank you on the microship; it was my first attempt at a microship and I definitely used everyone else as inspiration. The roof was the key feature that has popped up in Arlinsport a lot so I was trying to work it in. I am not sure how the tan goes with the roof style, I fussed with several other ideas for roofs because of my lack of love for the combo. However, in the end I didn't come up with anything better. The benches are the same piece that I used in my desk, and I though they worked well at making the bench less boxy. Glad to finally knock this off my to do list and now the ETTC can soar to greater heights! Thank you! Thank you! The first and second photos were my favorites but obviously the first shows more of the building so is a better overview. I have been trying to improve on the angles of the photography though I am still learning, so feedback like this helps. Thank you! The fountain was fun and turned out surprisingly well. I am glad you liked the statues flower beds. -
Thank you! I gave up on making the upper section also SNOT, as that was my failing last time. I am pleased to hear that you like the way it integrated, though there is a small gap where the roof doesn't fit down completely on the framing. The door ended up being super simple but effective. It does open and close but might also pop off when trying. The windows were an inspiration from Mike's log cabin, that I loved and used variations of on all three attempts I have done at log cabins. I need to get a better birds eye view for the firepit as it had some details that didn't show up. I had taken one but I was running out of daylight when I photographed it so it didn't turn out. The logs were a fun addition. I loved those tiles from the first time I saw them so I had to get them when I had the chance. Then I had to use them, thus here they are. I bought the green poster board for builds with lots of grass, but hadn't done one in a while so this was a perfect time to put it to use. There is 1 square snot brick on each side which are connected to a frame I built on the inside. Once the frame is pulled out each wall is simply freestanding. This allowed me to do the ends as you have observed and got ride of the need for any attachments to the ground and headlight bricks. Also the interior floor and the exterior grass keep the house in place.

[COR - FB] Letters to be written
SilentWolf replied to SilentWolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I have wanted to use the Nexo shield for a chair, and my first plan ended up being too tall, so this was attempt two. The golden swirly pieces were to help fancy up the desk and break up the blockiness of a desk. Hmm. I have never considered doing a glasses artisan. The artisan is a good idea though. I probably shouldn't have chosen glasses for my sig fig but I was attempting to be a tad realistic to the real self. Thank you Ayrlego. The piece usage was inspired by Bregir who I believe said he got it out of an official set. You are correct on what piece I used for the gold swirl. -
New Ship Classes - The Transition
SilentWolf replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The "about ships" link contains all the information about ships. This one was primarily for discussion about the transition but the about ships page has a link to here also. -
[SR - FB2 Oct] Smugglers of Tortuga
SilentWolf replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
This is a fun story with some nice builds to tell it. I will echo previous comments that the tree is well done and the blanket worked great for this build. The beach is also well done but I most of all love the minifigure posing with the story progression. The missed shots hitting the sand are a nice touch. -
[AMCRA - Puvel] Exploring Fiorentia (The Island of Flowers)
SilentWolf replied to Puvel's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great job on this beach scene Puvel. You have started off with an excellent portrayal of the flowers that makes me really look forward to seeing more. So many colors! I like the way you do your water and beach transition. The rowboat bottoms and seats are also a great touch. Lastly, I note the use of hands as banners off the back of the rowboats, nice part usage. -
Boys wanting to Play with Their Toys
SilentWolf replied to Capn Frank's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
This is a great idea forthis kings of build. I first thought it was one build with different poses and micros. Instead you surprise me with 4 interconnecting sections! Great job on all the micro ships as well as the figure posing. -
