LEGO LotR - general discussion
Mott the Brick replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well it was a nice voyage, but I guess we can now say goodbye to the West!!! -
Ready to sell....Everything
Mott the Brick replied to The Joker1's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Are you sure you want to sell ALL that stuff? Lots of money and perhaps good memories and time sure went into that. Maybe you can consider it carefully or just sell not all of it?- 45 replies

LEGO LotR - general discussion
Mott the Brick replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Man such a shame to hear that! I wanted a new wave...... . But I am not surprised but kept some little slight hope that Lego might just release more sets. Well we never got Minas Tirith, Witch King with Fell Beast and Eowyn, no Cirith Ungol, no Grond, Oliphant, Osgiliath, Mountain trolls, Balrog and bridge of Khazad-dum, Guardian of Moria, Lothlorien, Treebeard, Mount Doom, more of Shire, prancing pony, amon hen, and (insert new location or item). Sigh, lots of things left that could have made a last few quick buck off this franchise. Maybe in the near future, some sets could be released again just like with the Harry Potter line...... -
What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars sets?
Mott the Brick replied to Loco de Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
For me its 7879 Hoth Echo Base. Not an exciting choice of minifigures and needs Hoth rebel troopers. Then it doesn't help that the set doesn't really look good. -
Well thank you for responding. I was thinking about a new theme about sports. I wasn't sure where was the appropriate place. Next time I'll try to make a better title. Thanks for the advice.

Lego themes that we would like to happen
Mott the Brick replied to YellowCorvette's topic in General LEGO Discussion
A football theme with licenses on the players likenesses. Basically make stadiums such as Santiago Bernabeu and the Emirates, plus an assortment of the teams. Mostly do it on the more important teams. I think those sets would sell well, especially if they use the old feature of the Lego Sports theme. I would also like to see several old sets being re-released.- 451 replies

TLG heavily limiting minifig parts purchase
Mott the Brick replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hmmm, a good question. I think I'd rather go with limit amount. To be quite frank I wouldn't even pay 10 dollars for a 3 pack of minifigures. Heck The Toy Story Army Men set or a Star wars battle pack has more minifigures and some little vehicle or structure for roughly the same or a lesser amount of money. With the 6 for 10, then I'll consider to buy it as that is a MUCH better deal. In fact my trick to get around the no purchasing more after that is to visit the store at some other time and pay with cash rather than a credit card. Or have a family member or friend pay it for you while you have made those minifigures. Hehehe. You're more than welcome to use those tactics when purchasing minifigs in Germany. By the way does anyone else know how much do the minifigures cost here in the UK? -
TLG heavily limiting minifig parts purchase
Mott the Brick replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't know much , but the whole affair does sound indeed a bit suspicious. So now in Germany you can only buy that amount of minifigures once? I think that you can't buy 60 minifigures because you'll leave the store without much of a supply. On the website, it does sound like they are indeed limiting minifigures heavily. On a side note I think it's amazing that you can buy 6 for 10 euros! Its not a bad value. I remember that back in the lego store in the U.S. you could only buy 3 minifigures for 10 dollars. -
Well what the picture was showing wasn't a custom minifigure, but an already existing minifgure being displayed in a couple of backgrounds. So technically I think it's safe to say that it is in the right place. I think...

Hello, just a quick question. I am unsure as to where to post a topic on an idea for a new Lego theme. Is there any topics specifically for that?

What is your favorite lego series
Mott the Brick replied to Bluecoat officer's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have several favourites. I have gone through several phases of collecting but in retrospect I guess they could be amongst castle, mars mission, star wars, Middle-earth sets, and bionicle. However there are several sets that I missed out because I was a bit young so I'm currently looking for them. I also have to say that some sets looked amazing, but unfortunately I couldn't get my hands on them for being too young. Those being Classic Space, Classic Castle, and Adventurers. -
LEGO LotR - general discussion
Mott the Brick replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
You can make your own Gondor soldiers and they ain't hard. Of course, one would appreciate if thy were to make them but you can make them using minifigures from Fantasy Era and Kingdoms lines. -
LEGO LotR - general discussion
Mott the Brick replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well for the bodies of the gondorian soldiers I can just use the bodies of the Lego Castle minifigs and some of the Kingdoms knights like the one in 7949 with the mostly silver armour. Witch-king can be a regular ringwraith body but the problem would be the helmet. Those figures can be custom made for the most part. Are there any links with new sets confirmed (and maybe pictures)? -
Best Place to Live When it Comes to Buying Lego?
Mott the Brick replied to Deathleech's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Those prices are insane!!!! Well it ain't cheap to live here in Europe but I'm quite surprised! I thought that since Denmark produced them, they would have them cheaper. No luck, Jose!!! Seriously what's the logic behind making the prices that expensive on a local product? I understand the value of their coins being more powerful than the dollar, but I wouldn't exactly charge people that much for a local product. Either way my home country is BAD when it comes to buying Lego. Prices are more than double what they are in the U.S. for a Lego set and the choices are VERY limited. I think its safe to say that the U.S. takes the cake for best place to buy Lego. Around what time of the year is the Bilka offer, out of curiosity? -
Best Place to Live When it Comes to Buying Lego?
Mott the Brick replied to Deathleech's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't know here in the UK. In the US it was seemingly cheaper when you compare the dollar with the pound, but I noticed several retailers would take the liberty to increase the prices a little bit at first and then when I stopped going to toy stores, I returned to one some other day to discover most sets would be raised by up to $10 its original value! My home country of Costa Rica is particularly awful because they raise the prices to more than double of what they're worth (even in the lego store)!!! I think in theory Denmark should have cheaper prices as they are where the Lego company is located, but this is just me speculating... anyone know of the prices up there in Denmark??? -
Very impressive!

What is Your Favorite Lord of the Rings Set?
Mott the Brick replied to Deathleech's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I give Shelob Attacks my vote. The spider is quite impressive and you can get the two main Hobbits plus Gollum. Helm's deep does come as a close second and Attack on Weathertop could've been better but it's still a runner-up for me.- 36 replies

I also don't really like the new Bionicles. They look too much and overuse of that Hero Factory build. In my opinion they need to use more technic elements and builds over the current armoured robot look. The villagers need to be more like the Matoran in that they should have different masks and not look like clones of each other. The villains don't get my attention that much either although the idea of the little skull spiders is cool with me. This is just my opinion so sorry if I offended anyone with this as I know several people like this new Bionicles. I think the new Castle and Pirates look quite bland and the design aren't really attractive. Sorry again if anyone takes offense at this opinion. How much does an average set cost in the Netherlands? Is it cheaper than in the rest of the EU? (goes to Kayak.com to search for cheap tickets to the Netherlands)

LEGO LotR - general discussion
Mott the Brick replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think they need to make a Mount Doom set. Come on the most important scene takes place there as that's where the objective is reached! It would be interesting to see what Lego comes up with on doing a volcano. Set should be large-ish and come with a battered Frodo, a battered Sam, an evil-looking Gollum, and Gandalf the White on an Eagle. atreyu2112, I agree with you, Treebeard is a very important character and he won't be too easy to customize with the current Ent form the Orthanc set, as I doubt anyone would spend $200 or £170 just to get an Ent to customize into Treebeard. Like mostly everyone else, Minas Tirith and Balrog along with several other already mentioned minifigures have to be made. I would love to see battle pack sets and an oliphant. Then the farewell ship would be a nice last set with an old Bilbo Baggins. Just my thoughts. -
Personally I think Lego has decreased in quality a bit. Just look at some of the things in the early 2000's compared to some now. I think they need to go back to using more of the original standard bricks and more creativity. Need to also bring back some of the old faces with less specific details. Also the new sets are overpriced.

I would like to them to make some last LOTR sets because honestly they dropped the project very incomplete. Maybe bring back the original idea for the Europa theme that was dropped in favour of Pirates back in 1989. Honestly it would've been nice to see sets depicting old Europe. Perhaps, this is an ambitious idea but I am a BIG football(soccer) fan. Maybe make some licenses with popular football clubs and sell sets based on their teams after acquiring licenses for the player's likeness. Then sell sets that have the same feature of the original lego football sets but based on the actual stadiums. In another ambitious idea, I would love if Lego were to re-release some of their old sets from different themes like they did in the early 2000's with 90's sets. Specifically if they were to put some of the old Bionicle, Castle, and Adventurers sets for at least one year.

Best Set: Like a few members above have posted it is Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! Worst Set: The Battle of Five Armies, it was disappointing with its lack of minifigures,
