  1. Idk if it was in the older images, but this new one of the LOSS has the turaga elbow pieces locking its legs together if you look at *his* left side. This would support the theory of a grabbing function more than a walking function. I still like idea that he would launch the smaller spiders, but if he doesnt come with a full spider then there isnt much of a point. I dont see LEGO making someone buy another set just to use the one set's function. I think these sets look really cool for a first wave. I can't wait to see what they come up with as the years go on. In the TTV site in the Greg Farshtey possibly slipping on hard reboot, someone mentioned BIONICLE had alternate universes. So if this is another alternate universe the set I really want to see, is a store exclusive Dimension Traveler Vezon as a shoutout to his travels and the other reality. Edit:And if it doesnt happen I will want to MoC him from only CCBS pieces.
  2. When I first saw "Funmetal" in this thread, it was before I read it was a typo on gunmetal. I imagined shells with a mix of all colors of the rainbow in the plastic, like party confetti. I can totally see Takanuva in the entire color spectrum since he is a toa of light. Plot twist: Takanuva is the Kaita sum of all toa.
  3. *glatorian hand facepalm* Sorry if I pointed his answer out here before you got to then. It let me think a bit more about the more plausible direction for LEGO from here would be. I guess any of us who didnt get into Hero Factory but were eyeing those hero factory BA sets on amazon better get a move on before they go from double to triple digits...
  4. I find this quote interesting: "In the 2015 story, is it likely that we will be seeing more of characters such as Helryx and Artakha?" "I would say it is highly doubtful. These are characters from a story that stopped five years ago, and that new fans would never even have heard of (since they were not even sets). It really wouldn't make sense to make your target audience for the new launch have to go back and research relatively obscure characters to figure out what is going on in the story." https://community.le...605180/page/470 I would say this suggests that we will definitely not have a seamless continuation (not that theres any reason to expect this anyways). At the very least, if we arent rebooting we are getting heavy retcons. Technically he hasnt said anything new but I can see only timeskip with most the post 2010's Stars lore (golden armor final "comic") getting clipped off for new audiences or reboot if he is right.
  5. I lost it at Sanic, Gnu, and Galidor. My sides need to find mask of healing now... Wow lol. I was wondering when that mod would make it to the 2015 scene. Yep its better. I need to do a playthrough of Kopaka or Lewa through the whole skyrim campaign or something. Or maybe a 120% scale Omega Tahu.
  6. Then they are clearly missing the building aspect and compatibility with normal LEGOs. Maybe we'll see some more stuff like IFB's mix of "real" LEGOs with constraction pieces. Like the beast's designs, I do not really care for the mini-figure forms of constraction figures (shudders at toa mahri). So if BIONICLE is coming back in full force with multimedia promotions like the Old Days we definitely need to get a music group to make an action-packed trailer like this timeless piece: This is the kind of stuff that made BIONICLE exciting.
  7. Well if they are really unveiling it at NYCC, maybe they will truly go all out with it like the Old Days. Web games, movies, collectables... I'd bet they are going to do an exciting animated short at ComicCon. Maybe a certain Master of Water & Protector of Stone thing. A crowd gathers before the BIONICLE panel... the lights dim! An announcer begins describing a tribal world inhabited by mechanical beings with a few of them possessing elemental powers. The projector brightens to reveal a new trailer, fully animated, with a battle between Toa, Defenders, and Spiders! The kind of suspensful atmosphere I cant experience so Ill have to wait on an offcial recording of the event. Or a sneaky fan...
  8. Someone posted this on the Facebook Page: https://www.youtube....JN4XHLqU10/10 Anyone worried about the social media reactions to the announcement as a possible predictor of the sales and success of BIONICLE 2.0? I'm seeing lots of positive reactions from returning fans for their favorite theme, but constraction sets are not really what LEGO is known for now with most of their popular media (ie LEGO Movie) not showing constraction at all. I think the newer fans of LEGO (who aren't the ones cheering on LEGO for a 4 day lead-up to this) are going to be the biggest obstacle in whether or not this reboot can survive as long as the original did.
  9. Hype train needs to be upgraded with the Flux Capacitor. So is it too likely that we wont get the preview site til NYCC like the Mixels' SDCC? I need more hype fuel if I'm going to make the train hit trime travel speeds.
  10. KotOR HK-47 Ultrabuild incoming? Im a little disappointed in Hero Factory ending, just because we could use some more constraction than one theme at a time. Droids line?
  11. Hello all! I've been watching the rumors for months and have been totally excited for the return of what defined my childhood, but I just now made an account to join in on this cool-looking AFOL community. I figured the mask would be Artakhas the moment I saw it. A lot of things about the new sets made it seem like they wanted to be very true to what BIONICLE once was. After reading the mask's description online and then looking at it on the leaked card image I thought they wanted to get as much like that description of a very detailed work of art as possible. But what really prompted me to make an account just now is the Technology vs Magic thing. In a lot of media today I have been very dissapointed by writer's needs to take something that started with magic and then totally blow that off as "advanced technology". Look to Thor for an example (Mata Nui I hope they dont pull that on the Dr Strange Movie...) Before I really took notice of this sort of thing I really loved Bionicle's orignal meeting of magic with technology, and it is one of the reasons I really love mixed high fantasy and sci-fi media more than either of the two apart (Eberron). There can something of a plot-void in pure magic, but pure sci-fi totally disenchants me from some plots (especially when its used to disenchant magic that was already introduced to the media in question). Magic in a universe also allows for an organic feeling or the mysterious and unexplained. If you combine it with technology rather that throw it out completely over time you can keep that and still have technological aspects to be explained to stop that from going stale. With everything being explained away with technology becoming more prevalent than mixing them, theres definitely a risk of "its advanced technology" also becoming the new "oh its just magic" for explaining things away. I see about as much a problem with Magic becoming a bigger theme (or should I say element) in BIONICLE as I do with it being a reboot or continuation (which is to say no problem with all 3). And the same for keeping technology strong alongside the magical themes.
