  1. Reminds me of Onua Mistika's eyes. That was when the first rumors of Tr. Yellow pieces began along with the idea of Tr. Yellow for the matoran of light. In my analysis of the new Onua, I thought new he would have yellow eyes like Mistika's packaging suggested, but his eyestalk will most likely be fluorescent green too. We can always just squint really hard and pretend they are yellow.
  2. We've been fooled again! *sob* We will never see transparent yellow! Why must they torment us so!?
  3. The character bios on BIONICLE.com are still poorly formatted. This: Would be better as: Element: Ice Favored Environment: Glaciers and tundra Masks: a Mask of Ice an The Golden Mask of Ice Powers: Freezing touch and resistance to cold Et cetera. Just realized that this Bio explains that weird shielding bubble a little. I am now expecting the attack combo Spiderman has in every Activision game that lets him form a shield with his webbing, then shatter and expel it in a blast to damage nearby enemies- but with ice and not webbing.
  4. Wait... he has 6 legs... and two colors... 6/2 is 3... HALF BIONICLE 3 CONFIRMED Ill agree that there has to be some sort of connection though. It could be said that the movie merchandise is this way because it isn't a story owned by LEGO.But what I was saying was just speculation that made sense to me. It makes sense that LEGO could use artistic license (another explanation for the legs) in order to make their own IPs more accessible. In normal system LEGO the spider pieces (the one solitary piece) still look silly and unreal.
  5. I actually have a bit of a theory related to this: The reason that LEGO does not make action figure spiders with 8 legs, but does make 4 or 6 legged ones could be to avoid scaring kids who are afraid of spiders. The appearances of the LOSS, Visorak, and Skull Spiders don't really scream spider without their names or context. Ive found out in different fanbases that arachnophobia is apparently quite common. There have been requests in some videogames like Terraria for mods that replace the spiders with things that simply dont look like spiders (even if they still do all the things spiders do), just to alleviate that fear a bit. It is a lot easier to deal with something that vaguely resembles a phobia than the phobia itself. So a kid who is genuinely repulsed by real spiders would not be too uncomfortable with the appearance of visorak (which I initially thought were more like ants).
  6. These are real phobias that can affect real people, even physically/mentally mature people. I do find these really odd in the instance of a soft reboot/(use of the same characters) and would make far more sense if it really is a complete reboot with new characters. Otherwise explaining why they are like this for plot could have difficulties.
  7. Oh I am sorry. I keep having these issues lately... I think I'll see a doctor or something... But you are totally right 100% In fact I like the old BIONICLE so much I want to collect all of these. (but I cant)
  8. It would still be confusing (for new fans) to continue writing for the old BIONICLE, and with them not making sets for that reality they don't have enough incentive to devote their resources to the old one. Speaking of the alternate universe theory- TTV cited that they got "soft reboot" out of a LEGO employee after describing it to them. And apparently someone mentioned Krakua. After reading about Krakua I have to say that has interesting implications.
  9. Transformer's case is totally different from BIONICLE's. The Bays Transformer movies have their own merchandise which makes that its own toy line, while the merchandise for the other transformers stories are their own toy lines. LEGO has never done this to my knowledge, and likely won't. It would be like running two lines of the same thing, which cuts into set sales. It would be really confusing to consumers too and thats part of why LEGO only focuses on unique lines.
  10. The Facebook cover photo got changed. Someone noted that it looks very similar to the Slizer's image with all the characters on it, surrounding a circle.
  11. I... concur. TTV joke aside: They did have morals in HF. They were just never really defined like the Matoran. You can see in Brain attack how they at least wouldnt hurt any of the creatures possessed by brains because they were mind controlled. I would like to see if the Protectors have a similar belief system though. I'm still bidding on the idea that the Toa are the Mataverse Toa, and that that will be casually and slyly hinted at until near the end of this BIONICLE's run when they finally flatout say it. It would be a reveal to compete with that giant robot plot twist. The final year could be partly about them trying to uncover their origins or something. This way they wouldn't link too badly to the past until the very end, and the only people that get the references would be those that tried to do their homework. Something keeps bugging me: Didn't one of the LEGO employees say they have a story for the next three years written up?
  12. Yay, I called it! Sort of... I tried to make the point that different perspectives given on the different boxarts Promotional Artwork can belie the hunch or suggest the hunch- especially seen with Onua Nuva and these two images. Toon Onua does a good job of this too.
  13. I have mastered the art of making quick responses by typing slowly. So this is apparently a thing. Mask of Breakfastization confirmed. Control your entire fridge using eggs.
  14. I don't see why the Mask of Control cant shapeshift too. At this point the acronym situation has spiraled horribly out of control ( ) . MoC can mean so many things now. So after MoCr was adapted, how do we handle Control? MoCo, MoCl, MoCt... ?
  15. That's OK if it doesn't have the video. I just want to hear more about the pieces and maybe some idea of how they work. There's probably a thousand things that can be done with one of the new weapons alone. Thanks for the info! I'll take a look at the gearbox too. EDIT: That revealed quite a bit about the gearbox. I won't give people less reason to visit this page with specifics , but that third picture in the album showed me how easy it would be to mod the functions for myself, and I do agree that it is ingeniously designed. Thanks! Also a question sort of off and on topic at the same time: I plan on doing a few different MoC's and maybe other multimedia things- is there a good thread or something somewhere detailing the pros and cons of Flickr and Brickshelf? I know they arent the only mediums out there, but It would be informative. EDIT: I should probably just use that search bar...
  16. So how strong is this function, exactly? does not seem to suggest to me that it is strong enough to be a villains main form of attack. That is a very interesting concept though. Has anyone other than TTV's Var made some sort of review with the head itself?I can't connect to BZP atm for some reason, but has anyone there done a review of each new piece?
  17. I walked away for a while and come back to this... W/e... I was watching BZP's interviews and this one is probably the best: I put a time on it to show a really interesting point. At 6:20 they discuss voice acting and that gets interesting. #PohatuisAustralian We should be "excited" for these voice actors... If the guy who is, to my knowledge, the father of BIONICLE is ecstatic for this then I will be too. According to this Art Director, Faber really likes the new BIONICLE. Wild speculation: The series will be so short, it allows LEGO to hire Hugh Jackman to play Pohatu with the voice of the .
  18. Roodkama confirmed. Im so glad this is sarcasm. Encourage shippers? Uhh... No thanks- Im sure they'll exist regardless. (Im aware of Hewkii and Hahli- the reverse ship by Greg is just as bad as the normal ones, and for such an instance headcanon is vindicated)
  19. Offtopic: THATS A SPOILLLERRRR! You just ruined it for those poor hopeless souls who were waiting for all the comics to come out in 2040! And regardless his dialect comes from those who taught him to speak (Australians). Although it would beg the question of why a robot from another world speaks like a human from our world. Could all the Po-Okotans speak this way as a parallel reality version of Australia? And if that is so- why are the skull spiders so small there and scorpion-like? On Topic: Also there's a really good image in the presentation of Pohatu repelling a ton of spiders. This shows how the tone and artstyle work together at times. It looks sillier than most BIONICLE combat scenes until you remember how the Nui-Rama dive in MNOG after being shot. Or actually any of the Lew-Wahi events (Techno Ride of the Valkyries with Kongu looking all serious was probably the silliest thing I have ever seen). Sorry, but I am really tired of the modern cartoon channels now (maybe its just the nostalgia for older shows and how most modern ones really on bad scripting and shock factor for comedy) I would rather they do an internet or Netflix original series (only if they do longer episodes). I definitely see it like Omastarlovesdonuts says it could be, but remaining as a web series. They could use one of the shorter but cliff-hanger sort of scenes as an ad on every channel to sell the toys and direct viewers to the web series. They need to fix those character descriptions on the website. They aren't very... friendly to the eyes and brain. Look at this: Make that into like three or four paragraphs in Word please! Why is it all one solid wall of text!? I guess its just incomplete, probably being worked on in real time. It is really uncomfortable trying to read the current formatting (or lack thereof). I am kind of intrigued by the idea that they have digimon-esque (first thing that came to mind) signature moves... videogame confirmed for sure. "Primary Color: Blue" is pretty unnecessary though for a Bio exposing some characterization.
  20. I'm not a lunatic, Onewa! I'm a Toa hero! The Toa have standards. Be Unified, stick to Duty, have a plan to follow your Destiny. I'm thinking comics could be done of each toa fulfilling a TF2 roll (Onua is so obvious he is asking for it...), but we dont want to get too Off-Topic. Tahu: Ooohh they're gonna have ta glue you back together- IN KARZAHNI OT: Anyone else wonder about that one slide in the presentation? The one where Okotans are looking at hieroglyphic-looking things? It shows islanders in conflict with the Spiders and the Protectors uniting for something in a sort of timeline. That really suggests that there's a new prophecy like the one in MNOG.
  21. I personally would like to see LEGO try to do what they failed to do with Knights Kingdom: make action figures based off of the minifigure design. Imagine: CCBS Johnny Thunder, Brickbeard, Kahuka, Vitruvius, Max (Magazine), Lloyd, etc. But this is more of a pipe dream than BIONICLE surviving longer than it originally did. I can imagine these sets down to the pieces though, and they are glorious. We need a King Kahuka inspired mask NOW!
  22. Bein' a toa's a good job mate! Its challengin' work, outta doors- I guarantee you wont go hungry!
  23. Stout Vahi- fer two proto-fined! I am also seeing the spiders a lot as headcrabs now that its been mentioned a few times (I tried to describe the Skull Spiders to my little brother and he immeditaely said "Like half-life headcrabs?" I could not contest this). This is especially since they dont fit over Tahu's head without the legs still extended (in TTVs video), just like headcrab zombies in Half Life The set description still suggests the LOSS is evil so I will go with that until it turns out Makuta was controlling him all along. The purpose of the spiders is also clearly to steal the masks. I don't think a good character would start hoarding all the masks for themselves.
  24. Yeah I was not really thinking too much about it, but they do have a Budget and everything. From what Ive seen of interviews they tried to get as close to the max as they could with it already and gave us some pretty cool sets. I really hope youre right about the Hau being evidence that they will do this more than once. I also hope that they decide to do this in a more accessible way than NYCC. With the revelation (to me) that LEGO did do a Pick a Brick thing with CCBS but stopped due to poor recognition of what the pieces were, I feel like Constraction is hindered by this lack of relevancy. Could LEGO do more to promote things like BIONICLE or CCBS? I dont mean the kind of advertising thing LEGO is likely to already do in a similar manner to old BIONICLE. I think they need to show these as a part of LEGO. What if they made a character entirely out of CCBS to be a protagonist in sequel to the LEGO Movie for example?I think the last movie did a good job showing LEGO itself, but it failed to show all of LEGO by passing off their aciton figures as something they "dont even need to mention". They did not really show any action figure characters as characters in even the background for scenes like the Master Builders' headquarters.
  25. That would be such a convenient copout for LEGO to not make the alternate mask colors... Cant say I didnt see it coming. I had been thinking about how the toa each had their full set of each others' masks, and how that would work with the new plot. It would be completely unnecessary if they all just shared the golden ones.
