Current Free Gift from LEGO Online Store
Humdrum replied to Lankygit's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Here in Belgium you need to spend 30 euro's to get that polybag, starting tomorrow. -
Brick separators are also included in some smaller sets. I found one in a junior set, the one with the construction scene: 10667 There's some exclusive merchandise in lego stores, like minifig icecube trays, various key chains, seasonal/festive mini sets,... Basically anything found in the online store should be available in a Lego store. What I would like to recommend is to check the online store first and make a list of things you really want to buy, especially for the merchandise items. This way you can avoid being overwhelmed and impulse buying :)

It's going to be a CF with adjacent TS according to the voices in my head I'm guessing that's a Chocolate Factory and a Trampoline Store? -

Maybe there are some toy shops in your neighbourhood which still have a GE or TH in stock at normal prices? Not every shop specializes in Lego and might just sell their stock at a normale price. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Humdrum replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
There's room for both kind of sets in the vast Lego universe. Lego did release the cafe/bike shop in the creator line this year if I'm not mistaken. I consider that set a small modular. -
That's a solution I hadn't considered before, I'll definitly take it in consideration Thanks! Or dank je wel! The model does have a certain appeal without stickers You know what, I'll just leave it in the box long enough for it to become a collectible Nah, I bought it for display, and that's exactly what it'll do in my upcomming display!

One thing about the 42025 to consider though is that it has a lot of stickers. Mainly the front section of both wings are all 'stickered up'. I don't know if you like stickers or not, but I think it is important to some AFOLs. I still have my 42025 in the box because I can't decide to put the stickers on or not.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Humdrum replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Considering that Lego is retiring multiple modulars this year (Town Hall and Grand Emporium), is there a possibility we'll be seeing more than one new modular in 2015? Or does Lego simply want a 'slimmer' (AFOL) modular product line? -
My earliest recollection says this one, but I probably had others before that.

Intruiging Tweet from TLG-Apparent huge news is coming
Humdrum replied to ocifant's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Maybe it's the elves theme we saw in those leaked pictures. Or maybe I missed the official announcement of that one allready :) -
Hello everybody, I'm a new arrival to this forum, and I currently reside in a small corner in Europe called Belgium. I hope to be able to contribute to this nice gathering of (A)FOLs. I allready explained a bit how I awoke from my slumber in this post, but I'll gladly give some more background information here. So the Volkswagen Camper Van brought me back from my dark ages, and if I'm not mistaken 8074 is the one that put me to sleep. Actually the set itself wasn't at fault, it's just the last one I got before I reached that age where it's no longer 'cool' to play with Lego. As a kid I was fortunate to have 'inherited' my fathers Lego collection (mostly 60s and 70s stuff), and to get a lot more over time. Thinking back about it makes it hard picking an absolute favourite theme, I used to mix and MOC pretty much everything I had. Although the following sets do bring back fond memories: 6882 Astro Grappler - one of my earliest recollections of me and my father building something together http://brickset.com/...eight-Train-Set - 7735 12V freight train and the 7777 trains ideas book... spent hours rebuilding and finding solutions to missing/special pieces. http://brickset.com/...-Seas-Barracuda - the famous Black Seas Barracuda, longest build I ever did as a kid. Also the only one that I kept intact for years. http://brickset.com/...-1/Polar-Copter - 8640 Polar Copter, technic set with minifig. Given to me as a 'get well soon' present after I had some surgery. Looking forward is easier. Vehicles got me back into collecting Lego. As mentioned before I have the VW camper, add to that the Sopwith Camel biplane, Technic Cargo plane (I'm a bit of an aviation nut), Mini Cooper and the Technic MKII mobile crane. Those are just for display, other than that I'm refreshing my MOC skills and fiddling around with some brickfilming. Although the latter is going to require some more work and tutoring by my father once again since he's the one knowledgable in photography. That's my AFOL story so far, I'm looking forward learning from everyone here!

What made you get out of your LEGO dark age?
Humdrum replied to BearHeart's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The Volkswagen mini van did the trick for me. I first saw it last year when my youngest nephew got one for Christmas. I thought to myself that it would make a nice ornament for my coffee table, to spark conversation when I have visitors. Although twenty years passed between my last box as a kid and this purchase I was still happy like a kid when it arrived, and I really enjoyed putting it together. It turns out I was right, I've gotten loads of positive comments about it and people really do like to talk about Lego. So that inspired me to buy some more sets. Because I'm a bit of an aviation nut I also got the Sopwith Camel biplane and the Technic cargo plane. The latter is still waiting to be assembled because I can't decide putting all the stickers on or not. In the meantime I also started fiddling around with some basic MOC techniques and stop motion filming. And I'm also 'eyeballing' those beautiful modular buildings. That's my story (and first post on this forum) in a nutshell, hope to learn a lot from you all :)
