I struggle to buy a lot of the newer stuff because I think the Minifigure quality is lacking. Because my interest largely stems from TCW, this means I’m talking for the most part about Clone Troopers. I started collecting in 2010, and the quality across the board was really strong. The fact we are in 2024 and I feel the quality is regressive through measures implemented directly by Lego, is staggering. Certainly, I’m glad they exist and I can enjoy them by talking about them, watching reviews, speculating, and seeing others enjoy them. But, personally, I refuse to spend money on sets I feel would have been better if they were released 10 years earlier. The problem with the Clone Trooper is if they change them now they lose all consistency, and consistency is what they talk about over and over. They’ve got to follow through with this BUT the question really is about who thought this quality was good enough in the first place. I don’t think we will ever know. Lego lose my sales, but I know I’m in the minority. On the other hand, Malak is a great example where there are so many positives over negatives. A great minifigure!

Lifebricks probably wouldn’t have explicitly said something if he wasn’t sure it was happening. I agree, sketchy but he doesn’t usually go into specifics all that much if he’s unsure.

In terms of Fives, it’s an average figure. I think it’s time most of us accept in principle the sets sound good, but in practice they fall short. It will really help manage expectations, atleast it has for me over the last few years. Very rarely are we getting the best version possible of that particular set or figure. It’s a shame, but it’s reality.

This is true. BUT he has had a sketchy record since. I certainly wouldn’t be relying on Greekbricks.

How certain are we it’s a Weequay in the Skiff set? Could be a Nikto… I only ask because we’ve had all the Weequay’s done, and it would be a missed opportunity to not get a new henchman, no?

That’s cool! Glad to help. Thanks for clarifying. On a separate thought, maybe Lego have their hands tied after cancelling the rumoured Jabba’s throne room. Could it have been the plan to include Jabba there and have the diorama on shelves in time for when the Sail Barge and Sarlacc pit this year are released?

Strange choice then. I think there’s numerous other choices for Jabba’s pirates on the Skiff’s. Would have made it very refreshing, but now this and the news the UCS set is lacking in the department is disappointing. I guess the make-or-break for me will be Huttslayer Leia. Genuinely surprises me. Then again there isn’t loads of interior they could have done, but lots of stuff on the actual deck of the Barge.

This would work really well as a May 4th promo coming to think of it!

That’s really disappointing. I thought we’d get 4-5 new alien characters. I hope the Weequay is new for the Sarlac set. Do you know if the Sarlacc Pit will connect with the UCS set? Yes, I was thinking something similar. But, it’s a strange move to not have Boba, Luke etc in a UCS Sail Barge.

WOW. So interested to see this. I reckon you’ll be tempted when official pictures release. Even if it’s a pass, you’ve got to appreciate that they’ve balanced memes, iconic characters, and fiction pretty well! Us Lego Star Wars nutcases need to lighten up, and this is something I can smile and recognise when it’s really in the spirit of Lego as a toy. I cannot see this?

Disappointed he’s yellow skinned, to be honest. Makes sense, though. For the culture. Has to be scaled down. The last one was so detailed they were never going to re-release that. Not going to lie, it’s a crime Theed Padme isn’t been released for the 25 anniversary of TPM!

Ngl Star Wars has just got really interesting. What a way to celebrate 25 years, with absolute iconic sets. Iconic in a completely different way I would have ever imagined. You have to be applaud the audacity. Glad I predicted the Infiltrator and Sarlacc over on Future sets thread over the months and days.
