Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

4 sets (3 confirmed), isn’t a bad start for a Hogwarts reboot though! Factor in one of these sets is like $/£200 I don’t think they needed to go overboard. Olivander’s is the next instalment in the Diagon Alley expansion, and so that makes sense. Personally, I like these sets because they’re more affordable as I’m only paying £80-£100 per year. The buildable creatures fit with Lego’s direction more broadly. Lego Star Wars and Superheroes are doing these sorts of things and so I don’t see why HP shouldn’t, either. Aragog’s Lair seemingly goes with Hagrid’s Hut, Ford Anglia, and Hogwarts/Hogsmeade station. The only one that I think is a bit unusual is the Durmstrang Ship and Beauxbatons Carriage. But I liked your idea that it could be linked to the Great Hall. -

Might have to wait a bit. Yavin got reduced fairly quickly. The news has made me very intrigued about the set. I didn’t know I wanted a more affordable Death Star playset. -

Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

This makes the most sense. Why would Lego design only half the sets for the new Hogwarts configuration? They’d have planned them all, others more complete. This is a good point. Surely, Lego would learn from this, though? I would be shocked if the potions class isn’t part of the new configuration. It does. I assume some very large parts, maybe some new moulds (troll, anyone?) Separate point: Do we think the Aragog’s lair will be advertised alongside the Ford Anglia and Hagrid’d Hut? I am looking forward to buying those 3 sets, and even the Hogwarts Express and Hogsmeade. I think they will/all go together amazingly. Personally, the first few months when recreated in Lego are so nostalgic. -

Go on then, what’s going to make the Great Hall 1732 pieces? I think the future reception of the new Hogwarts configuration will rely on this set being well received. It sounds like it’s the central hub, the connective tissue. -

I don’t think it’s as simplistic as that (even though that does sound complicated). The speculation stems from Foggyfate. -

I would want/expect the following (Given the Minifigure lineup in the Sarlacc set): Jabba, Salacious B, Huttslayer Leia, R2-D2, C3-PO, Max Reno, Salt-Marae, Jabba’s Henchman (e.g, Vizam). -

Atleast I didn’t imagine this was a rumour! Crazy how fast it has been brought up after we spoke about it like a few hours before! I don’t think it’s Lego’s choice. It’s Disney’s. Admittedly, it would be catastrophic if she wasn’t included. -

New picture of Fives looks a lot better. The cloth is still awkward. Hoping there is an exclusive head. -

I struggle to buy a lot of the newer stuff because I think the Minifigure quality is lacking. Because my interest largely stems from TCW, this means I’m talking for the most part about Clone Troopers. I started collecting in 2010, and the quality across the board was really strong. The fact we are in 2024 and I feel the quality is regressive through measures implemented directly by Lego, is staggering. Certainly, I’m glad they exist and I can enjoy them by talking about them, watching reviews, speculating, and seeing others enjoy them. But, personally, I refuse to spend money on sets I feel would have been better if they were released 10 years earlier. The problem with the Clone Trooper is if they change them now they lose all consistency, and consistency is what they talk about over and over. They’ve got to follow through with this BUT the question really is about who thought this quality was good enough in the first place. I don’t think we will ever know. Lego lose my sales, but I know I’m in the minority. On the other hand, Malak is a great example where there are so many positives over negatives. A great minifigure! -

Lifebricks probably wouldn’t have explicitly said something if he wasn’t sure it was happening. I agree, sketchy but he doesn’t usually go into specifics all that much if he’s unsure. -

In terms of Fives, it’s an average figure. I think it’s time most of us accept in principle the sets sound good, but in practice they fall short. It will really help manage expectations, atleast it has for me over the last few years. Very rarely are we getting the best version possible of that particular set or figure. It’s a shame, but it’s reality. -

How certain are we it’s a Weequay in the Skiff set? Could be a Nikto… I only ask because we’ve had all the Weequay’s done, and it would be a missed opportunity to not get a new henchman, no? -

That’s cool! Glad to help. Thanks for clarifying. On a separate thought, maybe Lego have their hands tied after cancelling the rumoured Jabba’s throne room. Could it have been the plan to include Jabba there and have the diorama on shelves in time for when the Sail Barge and Sarlacc pit this year are released? -

Nice one, thank you! Didn’t predict white but should be very nice with the red. Maybe we are being recruited with our boy Kino Loy. I think it will be a diorama.
