Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Sir Gareth replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Cool dwarves! I really like those war hammers. -
Nice build, Steph 104th! It looks just like the Shire, and really captures the quiet peacful feeling. I like how you managed to include the Bag-End set. My only suggestion is to add a few more Hobbits doing everyday things, so that Bilbo doesn't look so lonely. Good luck in the contest!

Awesome build, Emma! Smaug is very detailed and looks great! I love the use of the red dragon wing. It really resembles the shape of his head. But, my favorite part is all the gold pieces. It looks just like the inside of Erebor.

MEC Category C: "Farewell, King under the Mountain"
Sir Gareth replied to Wat Tambor's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Excellent entry, Wat Tambor! While the build itself is very well done, the minifigure posing really stands out here. Great job and good luck in the contest! -

MEC Category C: The Clouds Burst -
My entry for MEC Category C. "So began a battle that none had expected; and it was called the Battle of Five Armies, and it was very terrible. Upon one side were the Goblins and the wild Wolves, and upon the other were Elves and Men and Dwarves." - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit Without Minifigures "The Goblins and the wild Wolves" "Elves and Men and Dwarves" "The Eagles are coming!" The Five Armies More pictures here. I really wanted this to actually look like a battle of five armies, so I crammed in as many minifigures as possible. Not counting Gandalf and Bilbo, I managed to fit in eighteen and a Warg.

Outstanding build, Disco86! I love the use of those dark tan tenacle pieces. They help give the woods a very eerie creepy feeling, capturing the astmosphere of Mirkwood well.

MEC Category C: The dawn will take you all!
Sir Gareth replied to Dzoni90's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Great little build, Dzoni90! I really like that you decided to include a brickbuilt troll and horse, instead of the molded ones. The rest of the moc is very nice, though I feel it could use Gandalf on top of the rocks. -
MEC Category C: The Back Door to Erebor
Sir Gareth replied to Leopold's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Beautiful build and photography, Leopold! I absolutely love the lighting of the first photo. The rockwork is nicely done. I like how you built the secret door, managing to make it blend in with the rest so well. -
MEC Category C: Flies and Spiders
Sir Gareth replied to Captain Flint's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The treetop is beautiful! I love the stunning contrast between the darkness of the tree and the bright colours of the foliage. But, the build itself feels a bit empty. Maybe add in a spider to fill in the space. -
MEC Category C: Escaping Goblin Town
Sir Gareth replied to Graham Gidman's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nice little build, Graham! I really like how you built the bridge, especially the slight curve. The rockwork is great too. -
Very nice build, Vitreolum! I love all the different details. The various plant life is well done. My favorite part though, is the barrels in the water. The angling of them really helps make the current appear fast and rapid.

Excellent build! The snow and rockwork are very well done.

Farmer Maggot's Work Horse - AoM: Mill Phase I
Sir Gareth replied to Slegengr's topic in Guilds of Historica
Excellent build, Slegengr! I'm impressed by just how much your builds have improved from since you first joined. Everything about this is very well done. I really like the irregular baseplate, roofings, and use of droid arms as wheat. This is definitely your best moc yet and an inspiration to newer members. Great job, keep it up! -

I wouldn't mind a full-body sketch of Sir Gareth, if that's not too much to ask for. Please. -

I agree with what Gideon has to say. Seeing all that claimed land can be discouraging to newer members. It's the reason I joined Mitgardia instead of Avalonia. -
Another awesome build, Captain Nemo! Doomsday looks exactly like him and is instantly recognizable. Definitely my favorite part of the moc. The flag cape is a nice touch though. Great job, keep it up! I always look forward to your work.
