I was only inspired by the way the bucket is attached to the arm. But the fsb001 uses an illegal build.

Thanks for your reply ! I would be very honored if you build my model.

Sorry,I only see your reply now ! Yes, the color scheme is yellow and not white because there aren't enough white parts in lego technic. For the controller, I wanted something very different to everything I have seen done by other builders and the possibility to control simultanously all the functions is very important for me. I have forgotten to say but I will create building instructions (not before a long time, unfortunately). and this model will be exposed at the french exposition fana'briques :)

Thx Dluders, I forget to put tags for my video. I have edited my first post.

Hello everybody ! I have finished to build my version of an all wheel steer loader. My model is finished at 99% ( some parts need to be added and some colors changed ,but the global design and functionnalities won't be modified). It took me approximativly 100 houres to build and I built three frames ( two prototypes and the last version). The MOC is fully functionnal and it's a pleasure to play with. My goal was to build a playable model and I think that I've reached it. Here is the controller. With three fingers I can control all the model functions. And finally, my MOC, very similar to fsb001 ( I have taken the same real model as inspiration) : A mini-cylinder is used to lock or unlock the steering axle : M motors are located into the frame because Xl's one are too big. Same if everything is built very strong, the steering cracks at the end. The same thing happens to the propulsion ( but only in reverse and when I block the wheels or try to pass a too big obstacle). The all wheel steer mod used three diffs ( like the fsb001). Finally, here are the videos. I do not explain a lot about this model in this topic because a lot of things are explained in the video ( it's the first one I made speaking englihs so it's far to be perfect). You can see more pictures on my brickshelf galery : My galery I hope you like and I'm open to any questions or comments, as usual !

Is it independant suspensions on all axles or something else? Great MOC by the way ! -
European Tow Truck
GuiliuG replied to GuiliuG's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks you.I forgot to say that two rear wheels are missing. I'm going to seek a solution to hide the BB, same if I have already shearched without finding any acceptable solutions. -
European Tow Truck
GuiliuG posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello everybody ! It's long time since I've featured a MOC here on eurobricks. As I have begon some studies I have really less time to MOC than last year. Fortunately, I have one week to relax after exams and so to build with my lego. I have so finished my new model which is an european tow truck. The idea to build such a MOC comes from zoli's truck which is brillant : Mine is based on a daf truck, with an arm from omars company : Some pictures before I continue to present my creation : It owns nine pneumatics cylinders ( 4 old one, 3 news and two minis), two motors ( M and Xl), two La and a lof of gears^^. The steering is the easiest mechanism to explain. There is two reductions 8T/24T ( with a clutch for the first) and then 12T/20T for the second axle and 16T/16T for the first axle. So, the turning radious is different on the two axles. There is also an ackermman effect. This motor control always this function. The things begin to be harder with the Xl motor.Indeed, via a 4 outputs gearbox it controls : -Propulsion on the two rear axles -Compressor -Turret rotation -Axle trough the turn table. There is four switch. The first controls stabs deployment thanks to two mini cylinders. I was surprised how they are weak. They have a hard time to deploy the stabs due to tubes flexion and I'm obliged to put a lot of pressure to fully deploy them. The second switch permits to lift up the truck with 4 old pneumatics cylinders ( very usefull to create strong stabilizers). The trucks still weights 2kg500. As you can see, the front stabilizers bend a little due to weight, mainly supported by them. They had to be appropriated to the truck look and it's the best solution I have found to respect the proportions and to support correctly the weight. Attention, they only supporte vertical efforts, I advice you not to push the truck from back to front when it's lifted^^. The two others switchs allow me to control the rear arm. ( two pneumatics cylinders to lift it). The third output of the first gearbox controls the turret rotation. There isn't something on the turret to counter weight arm, so I create a float plan. Same if the turn table bend when the weight to lift is to high, it considerably reduces its torsion. After you have put the fourth output of the first gearbox, it's time to play with the arm. So, you just had to remove the panel to access the three outputs gearbox. The first output is to activate the two la.The Xl motor lift easily the arm. The second output is to telescoping the arm and the third output is for the two whinchs. The speed of these two last functions is roughly equivalent, so you can telescope the arm regardless cable length. To finish, I'm very pleased by this model. The goal was not to lift 500g, if it was my goal, I would have build the truck completly differently. Here are some more pictures : If you want to see other pictures I took, I advice you to go on my brickshelf galery : My galery Again one time, sorry for my bad english. If there is something you do not understand or something I do not say about this MOC, I will happily read to your questions/comments. I will naturally make a video but I do not know when, maybe in three months, maybe more, maybe less, how knows? -
Effe's MOC Corner
GuiliuG replied to efferman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Sorry for the stupid thing I say, so ^^. I thought the perpendicular cross axle ( of the connector) would break under heavy load ( but maybe it will arrive after stay some time mounted). -

If you want my opinion, your axles are way too weak ;-) -
Thanks Ddulers for the post ! I usually feature myself my creations but this time, I do not find any time to do such a presentation. Actually, I finished the model two months ago and it took me approximativly all this time just to make the video. So, you have probably already seen my fastrac when I published some pictures of it in my brickshelf galery. I'm very pleased by the way this model turned out, because it looks very similar to the real one, what was my goal when designing the model. As some people have noticed, the 12-speeds gearbox was not really necessary to the playability of the model and adds a lot of parts to the finished model but I consider that it was a real challenge which has provided me a lot of fun. Ohters people have criticized the front and rear independants suspensions because they compress as soon as we use the pump but once again, the peculiarity of this tractor is the independant suspension and it was impossible for me not to integrate it in my tractor. If you have any questions, I will be very happy to answer to them. In a near futur ( two months, more?^^) I will post some pictures of the frame ( yes, I will quickly disassemble it^^). Thanks all and sorry for my bad english !

Longer Pneumatics
GuiliuG replied to allanp's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Personnaly, I think that it would be usefull to can fix the pneumatic cylinder like the la ( or the old one). I mean, fix them in a solid and unmovable way. -
Trial truck 10 - LYNX
GuiliuG replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If I understand what you mean, yes, it exists on real vehicle, and it's called a "V-link". For example, the fastrac has a rear V-link : -
Minimog
GuiliuG replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It's a nice concept and your unimog seems to be very playable but I'm not fan of its look and how it's build ( the frame doens't seem very clean, maybe due to all these different colors, or is it just the way it is built?). -
Side loader garbage truck
GuiliuG replied to GuiliuG's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks everybody ! I haven't tried to use only one valve because movements had to be done in a definite order and, as far as I know, it's not possible to dispatch air in the first cylinder, then in the second, ... Yes, the linkage of the arm is based on real arms. It's inspired from durapack python arm ( from heil) and you can go on their website to see pdf files showing how it works.I'm sorry but I can't post more pictures because I needed some parts to complet an other MOC and it's disassembled. -
The last setechnic challenge finished yesterday and unfortunately I collected only six votes. I'm very pleased by my model and how it turned out but I decided to create a simple but very functionnal truck and some others participants prefered create a complex truck, which seem to be more appreciated from people voting. My creation is inspired from mack terraprow low entry truck with a durapack python arm ( from heil). If you do not know what these truck look like, I thorougly invite you to tap on google these words because they look a bit strange (in any case for european people). It owns a fake engine powered by the rear axles and a steering on the front axle with HOG ( no fake wheel because there is no space). One of the most complex thing I faced during building this truck is the particular shapes of the cab. The others functions are pneumatic : three arm movements, compressor and liftable skip. The arm kinematic was very complex to create because it had to be strong enough to support the weight of the dustbin. Moreover, the displacement of the arm had be sufficient to dump the trash in the dumpster. To see other pictures, go on my brickshelf galery : Garbage truck side loader Finally, here is the video : I hope you like it and I'm open to any comments. As usual, sorry for my bad english.
