I found Gashapon in Italy for series 1 and series 4!

I also wanted a Pirate Captain, but this is a bit disappointing to me. I mean, I would have welcomed a new beard mould (or at least using Gandalf's but in black! It would have been perfect) or an epaulette with a stud so that you can finally put the parrot on it... this one seems a little "old" to me. No new molds, the only thing that sounds "new" are the golden cutlass and the printed torso. Not a super-wanted from me, I will get the usual 3 or 4.

Sorry to vanish your fantasies, but usually on Lego Magazine, they show three teasers of three different things. So the circle down is not related to minifigures.

I may a bit be like swimming against the tide, but while I like the idea of a pirate captain, it seems a little cheap to me. I absolutely like the golden cutlass, but for the rest it seems something "already seen".

Actually, not. 1/16! is the chance you might have if you take from a market with at least 16x of every minifig, assuming they are fishing out from exactly 16*16=256 minifigures, which means at least 5 boxes of minifigures. That number doesn't apply. If you want to know exactly how many minifigures you get, you must rely to the boxes infos... so let's say K = 3.75 (60/16) minifig of each type per box. The first one is 100%. The second pick is 15K/59 which means 95.34% of chances to get two different minifigs. The third one is .9534 *14K/58. Counting on , this is the chance you have assuming the online shop picks 16 random minifigures from the same box. 1 = 100% 2 = 95.34% 3 = 86.3% 4 = 73.81% 5 = 59.31% 6 = 44.48% 7 = 30.89% 8 = 20.05% 9 = 11.57% 10 = 5.96% 11 = 2.68% 12 = 1.03% 13 = 0.32% 14 = 0.08% 15 = 0.013% 16 = 0.001% So actually you got only about 1 / 100.000... which still doesn't helps since you can't buy 100.000 minifigures on line, but with this table you can guess how many minifig you may want to buy knowing the chances to get one double.

I actually have never yet found open bags where I live. Neither one single time, and, IMHO, if a cashier allows a customer to open even a small part of the bag, he/she should be fired unless he/she buys the bag if you don't like what you see.

The medal is a very thin part, and it can easily go inside the sheet, or under/beside the 3x4 plate. I have recently developed a way to discern the guitarist, and I had to feel S4/S5/S6 too... damn S4 was so hard! I almost forgot how hard it was!

I also heard that but I heard about them doing 16 series of 16 minifigures for a total of 256 different ones. What I yet don't know is if they will mantain this pace, slow them down, or taking them to 4 series per year. If my voice was to reach up to TLC, I would propose a "best of", a re-edition with GOLD bags, in which you could find the best minifigures for all series voted on TLC's site. You'd take one minifigure from each serie and make a final serie. I would put Zombie, Spartan, Elf, Musketeer, Evil Dwarf, Roman and Space Marine in this one.

Me too. 30 is a fair number. And even if I want to reach that stage, usually during the process I get tired. When I'm at 5-10 minifigs, I hoard for more... when I'm at 15-20 I say myself that I'd buy "only if I happen to". After 25 I no longer feel the urge to buy. It just happens again when some motnhs pass, like I bought 2 more evil dwarves upon finding a full S5 box after I hoarded 20/25 (dunno how many) when S5 hit the shelves.

I voted the combination "I would take them" and "people should leave them here" (so point 1 is still valid) ;) Seriously, if you feel like stealing, why the hell leaving some pieces as the evidence? And IMHO if you have to open the bags to find out which minifig is in there, you are really doing worse than stealing!!

I can't see really your point. If you should buy 5 more or less minifig, the difference is $15, I don't think one depends on $15... I can see knowing all the RP of LotR sets if you want to buy them all (but, again, I don't know a single AFOL who buys in toy shops, everybody here has his own means to get discounted sets), but when it comes to minifigures it seems a bit odd to me... no offence meant.

Everybody can do this kind of shoplifting... I can't figure out if one was discovered how many are there doing the same thing, or starting doing that after finding this one on the internet.
