I could get behind this class. I think the changes you made work well. It feels like a nice progression for the Witch class. -
Vindsval catches Verkenner as it speeds back to him, the poison coating it now showing green on the tail of the scorpion. He places it back in its scabbard on his side and flinches as his companions take blow after blow from the beast. Blows that could have been lessened had they simply accepted his offers. The pride bred into the fair skinned is something he shall never understand. He is doubly surprised at Miderun for not accepting, he had thought as fierce a warrior as she would have jumped at the opportunity to more effectively wade in carnage. But steps once taken cannot be retrod. It is the now that must be addressed. He pulls the near dead Actaeon to the Back Row and attempts to cast a Healing spell upon the Ranger. "Hold Still Actaeon, If the Wanderer wills I shall return you to the fray momentarily." The prays silently over the battered ranger, his hand beginning to take on the faint golden glow as his God's power manifests on the material plane." Battle Order 1. Annienal 2. Vindsval 3. Warlen 4. Yes I believe Vindsval would be very interested in those boots. But he couldn't use them being mage boots.

"Battle lines everyone" Vindsval's bellow shakes some of the leaves from nearby trees. He steps to the Back Row of battle, reaches into his pack and removes a vial of the Deadly Venom. "Time to see what power there is to be had down this path." He Applies the Deadly Venom to Verkenner, giving it the Poison -10 effect. Battle Order 1. Annienal 2. Vindsval 3. Actaeon 4. Warlen 5. "Then set your bait, we shall see what this way comes." Vindsval finishes digging his hole, climbs out of it, and kneels next to Lyle's body. After returning the explorers head to his shoulders, he pulls one of his rune sticks from a pouch and lays it on the man's chest. His hand begins to glow as he whispers prayers over the corpse. "I have sent his spirit on it's way to the next path. Would you place him within the grave Virgil? It is your place as kin."

Vindsval looks around the clearing until his gaze falls upon Lyle's remains. He Kneels to Examine the Body. "Miderun, Actaeon, come here a moment. Have you ever seen marks like these caused by any other beast? Do you have any clue what might have caused them? When he finishes examining what is left of poor Lyle he removes his shovel and begins digging a grave to place the man in. He sets aside any large rocks he unearths to use to make a cairn.

Vindsval places his hand gently on the old soldier's shoulder. "It would be heavy upon your heart to see him, this I understand. But will it not weigh heavier on your soul if you do not see your brother off to his next journey on The Path? If that is not within your beliefs, would you not at least wish to say goodby and to see that his remains are properly looked after? I would not wish to know one whom I loved was left to predations of the wild."

So long as you are upfront about it in the description. Some folks might be a bit annoyed if they signed up, were selected and then found out they were in a puzzle quest.

I asked the same (sorta) question about stacking gems to increase protection/damage. Gems don't stack.
