  1. Nice bit of notoriety. Yatkuu do you have your Shaun of the Dead Cube Dudes posted anywhere with close up pictures?
  2. I hope UCS R2D2 will be available in my local lego store. that is what I will use to get this guy!!
  3. Holy crap that is amazing.
  4. I did not know they are making a third one. I love SOTD and HF!!!
  5. I will definitely be giving Cap a clip on the back to hold his shield.
  6. Wow that is just fantastic!!! Really well done.
  7. While I dont remember the Los Angeles Olympics (I was 4 years old at the time) my wife and I visited her mom in Vancouver when the 2010 Winter Olympics were there. We were far enough from the crowds it wasnt too bad. But trying to get to see the Olympic fire is just tiresome. We waited over an hour to get into the Hudson Bay flagship store. The main licensed retailer for official Olympic Merch. The most popular item was the red Canada soft shell jacket. They were literally flying of the racks. the store employees would secretly bring out a batch every so often. They would also stealthily ask if you want one to random people. If you asked for it, you get the generic answer; "Sorry, we are all out. We are getting more soon"
  8. More than likely, stuff like this comes down to the studios that backed the movie. If Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg were able to, they could have retained merchandising rights. But since George Lucas has set the precedence for that, I think all studios want to keep merchandising rights close to their chests as possible. In the off chance the director goes and makes millions from it. Yatkuu, can we get a break down of supporters before the Conan O'Brien show?
  9. Slightly off topic, I got a new letter from Playmobil and they have an entire line of olympic sports figures. Sort of like the collectible figure series. I would love to get an Olympic Minifigure.
  10. whoops haha. That should have been the Death Star plate. hehe
  11. Ooh cool. Thanks. I will check my local toywiz and buy one from them.
  12. Not quite movie accurate. But when I was looking at my Cad Bane torso, I thought it looked like it could work as a Deckard torso. So I pulled out my Indy head and Han Solo hair. I used a EpII jedi cape as his trench coat and gave him a Aliens Conquest pistol. He's Blade Running in the wind hehe.
  13. I was in Walmart (US) and found these in the Easter section. I found my old Mini Star Destroyer but it is missing some pieces. Anyway here it is in size reference.
  14. I think that the "bar" issue us only a matter of marketing spin. Rather than a "bar" it can be called a pub or "quaint British eatery" there is more to the Winchester than just alcohol. Now that I think about it, the name might have issues from a licensing problem. Winchester is a trademarked name. Even the movie makes a nod to the firearm manufacturer. Maybe Lego just doesnt call it Winchester. Another consideration is licensing "Shaun of the Dead". Hopefully Lego and the owners of Shaun of the Dead can come to an arrangement. I know that Superman has ownership issues and that is why we have yet to see a movie after Superman Returns. Warner Bros does not own Superman anymore. Macross has had its share of legal strife with determining licensing rights in Japan and the rest if the world. Anyway this is a stupendous moment really for us. Thanks to Yatkuu for sharing the experience with us. I don't remember this much insight with the other Cuusoo projects.
  15. I think that this could be very profitable for Lego. One of my other hobbies is firearms and firearm training. Just this year and last year more companies, in the firearm industry, are marketing products for the zombie aficionado. From zombie killing chainsaw mounted rifles to zombie killing ammunition. I kid you not. There is a company making zombie killing bullets. http://www.gunsandammo.com/2011/10/14/hornady-zombie-max-ammo/ As if normal bullets wouldnt work as effectively? Anyway my point being is that zombies are coming to the forefront of popularity. It is no longer relegated to cult status. I'm sure this in in part due to Shaun of the Dead being so widely accessible for audiences. As like many here, I will keep the hope that it passes the review status and that we do get the Winchester. I dont care if compromises are made to the set. If they do it to the standards of the modular sets then I will be more than happy. Thanks to everyone who supported this. We all share in your exhilaration Yatkuu.
  16. Is this the HP book with the mini figure? It is available at my local Lego store. As well as various book stores and Walmart.
  17. I just read the official congratulatory letter. I loved the quote which adds a bit of personality and not just a fill in the blank letter. I have no worries that this won't be made. Your website Makethewinchester.com has the controversy section is well thought out. I wonder if you will be present via phone conference to weigh in on the verdict. My wife and I recently purchased the Grand Emporium, Fire Brigade, and the Pet Shop. I would like the Winchester to be in the same city. So would TLG make the same conclusion? Would you sacrifice the lovely snot built sidewalk and street so that the Winchester can plug into the other modular buildings? I suppose I could just modify the set to do so haha, Looks like this might come out for Xmas given the TLG letter time table of events to come. Please keep us updated and if they fly you out to pick your brain, please document it, if you can.
  18. I saw the video and Simon Pegg endorsing it is awesome haha. Woul you want the set to have classic yellow faces? Or flesh tones like all the licensed properties. i.e. Starwars, Harry Potter, DC Superheros?
  19. Damn. I am in shock and awe. I am jealous of your skill. Just amazing.
  20. Where does the clear helmet come from?
  21. Yes. I am digging that lex suit!!! Nice
  22. Odd, when my friend linked me the petshop and fire brigade, I could not buy them online. It said "NOT AVAILABLE ONLINE" Only available in select stores and not available for store pick up.
  23. So I made a AFOL friend when I bought his wife's holiday train set. He told me that the TRU in Time Sq has all the big expensive sets. I have been waiting for a TRU sale. We wanted the petshop and fire brigade. Unfortunately when my wife and I went, they were sold out. One of the managers told me she could order the fire brigade but pet shop was sod out. These sets cannot be bought online. Only select stores carry them. But FAO schwarz has them in stock and since TRU owns FAO I could buy them and return them to TRU for the discount. Well that is what I did. I saved $81.65.
  24. I think this looks amazing.
  25. Very cool about the UCS R2. That will be my May 4th purchase. There wasnt anything else that I want.
