  1. I can't help but wonder what it'd be like to have Nalguz, Throlar, Heckz, and Black Knight Lind all together on a quest... You know, we really should get some established PvP rules in place.
  2. Not sure about weapons you pick up, but I know you can rename weapons you buy from the Marketplace...
  3. Not necessarily - look at Throlar. He's widely disliked, but that doesn't affect his quest count(for my part, he's one of my favorite characters even). You're both wrong. Munchkins are the best.
  4. Sounds interesting - I'll be looking forward to reading his story. Also, if there's any species background/backstory you'd like to share outside of charactr interaction, feel free to post a bio/tome in the Library. (I've linked to my post on the Munchkins* as an example.) Actually, you can keep it, if you have a weapon of the same type. You just switch stats and names. *Who are not small, no matter how many short jokes a certain gnome cracks.
  5. Agreed. I really should have spent more time designing and balancing the rolls... Thanks for sharing that - Yeah, after that, I can see now how it is overpowered to the point where it's beyond overpowered. That was the idea, but this takes it too far. I still want to keep Damage and Special Damage somewhat like they are, but a lot of nerfing needs to happen.
  6. It certainly needs to be balanced and edited, but beyond that, that depends on your interpretation of fun. It would add an element of danger to higher level battles that is currently missing(for the most part, there are of course exceptions), and boost RP as well. I like this.
  7. Indeed! Welcome to Heroica! You'll find that Eurobricks is a really friendly place overall(except for some of the more heated discussion forums), and Heroica is one of the friendliest(and patient!).
  8. Agreed. The idea behind having Special Damage be its most destructive role was that the Pyro is backed into a corner, and is attacking wildly anyone they see in self defense, whether they're a friend or foe. Good point. I was inspired by Chi Monk for the attacks, but I forgot to include any way of replenishing ether. I wonder if it would be too crazy to borrow Mug from Rogue, with an extra gold boost added, playing on the urban theme I was going for...But it would probably just be easier to include a normal replenisher roll...But, there is something to be said for sticking with theme... Brickdoctor introduced a Burning effect in one of his quests, which was something like: "X damage that doubles/increases each round and has a small chance to go out each round." I really liked that effect myself, perhaps it can be incorporated? That was the idea - basically, a class that could deal out incredible effects damage to enemies, but had the downside of that they could also accidentally destroy their own party. The idea is, at base, a Chi Monk that deals huge amounts of special effects instead of punches, but runs the risk of hurting their own party. The current classes make it so that high-leveled players run very little risk of failing their battles at all, with a good battle order and a reasonable stash of Phoenix Essences. This throws a little bit of danger back into the game(as well as having amazing RP potentional). I wanted to stay away from bringing elements into this, but I agree that Luck should be either toned down or changed. Agreed. The point is that they can accidentally burn their comrades. It's supposed to be overpowered enough to deal severe damage both ways.
  9. This class would require the introduction of the Burning effect. In practice, it would be identical in effect to Poison. "Some have fire, to burn monsters in the night. Oh, fire, fire burns my life in hellish light...I never want to hurt them, for I know that would be bad, but they push, and hate, and scare me...they don't know all I have..." Additional Health: +12 Additional Ether: +10 (+1 per level for classes without base ether) Weapons: Pyrokinetics fear their own power, and choose not to use any weapons. Job Traits: Flee:(see Rogue), Spontaneous Combustion: The pyrokinetic can light objects on fire outside of battle, Self-Preservation: Desperate to stay alive, the pryokinetic is permanently Lucky. Battle Style: Protective - Pyrokinetics defend themselves, and those around them. 1. SHIELD: Toast - The pyro spends 1 ether, and deals 1/2 of their level in damage to the target, and 1/6 their level in Burning. 2. CRITICAL HIT: Loose Cannon - The pyro spends 2 ether, and deals 2x their level in damage to the target, and 1/5 of their level in Burning. 3. HIT: Back Draft - The pyro sets all enemies to Burning, at 1/6 their level, spending 1 ether per target. 4. HIDE: Shelter - The pyro hides for the round, with a 1/2 chance of being Afraid for the next round. 5. DAMAGE: Confused Terror - The pyro deals half their level in damage to all enemies, spending 1 ether per target, and accidentally deals half their damage in burning to a random party member. 6. SPECIAL DAMAGE: Nowhere to Run - The pyro deals their level in damage, and half their level in burning to ALL targets, INCLUDING their party, spending 1 ether per target. The pyro is Afraid for the next round. EDIT: I forgot to add - All Burning dealt stacks with prior Burning.
  10. Rats. And I'd thought I'd finally found the perfect secondary character... On the positive side of things, it's given me the idea for a new class. My mind is ' ' with ideas, as it were...
  11. Will Puppeteer ever become a class, and if so, what will be the requirements?
  12. The Black Knight bowed. "A pleasure to meet you, Master Fighter." He straightened back up. "Might I be so inquisitive as to ask for a for little more information about the green-clad juvenile you mentioned a moment ago? Particularly anything about his three-day survival and subsequent disappearance?"
  13. I don't think that this is a brilliant move on LEGO's part, and here's why: For starters, they are alienating a good percentage of their purchasing base with this move. Will it have an extreme effect on how many bags will be sold? Probably not. But they are pandering to a niche(and hoping to cash in on a certain license at the same time). That's not a bad thing - there are several other niches that I'm sure many of us would like to see, like Castle, Space, etc. But this niche is an extremely bad niche to start on, for one simple reason. This isn't a niche people will collect. Sure, there are plenty of fans who will grab the series, and probably a good few extra people who will pick up the 'totally new, completely rad Legos*,' but no one is going to collect them. To really make money off a niche, you need a theme people have to buy multiples of to feel like they've completed that part of their collection, like Space Marines, Roman Soldiers, etc. In other words, army builders. Sure, this theme does have the Zombie Cheerleader and Pirate, which you could argue are sort of army builders. But how many Zombie Pirate Captains do you need for a single ship**? And unless you've been specifically dreaming of that diorama of a minifig hero fighting bravely through the onslaught of Zombie Cheerleaders, collecting a cheer squad of them, although it 'might be cool,' is almost certainly not the highest thing on your shopping list. *Misspelled intentionally. **Of course, you could have a fleet of Zombie Pirate ships, but if so, you're almost certainly in the minority. But hey - the more Zombie Pirate Captains for you! Yay!
  14. I'll say! That Tricorne especially, with two rarish gems for only 20 Gold!
  15. "Not in the least, Master Chieftan," the Black Knight reassured in a calm and cheerful tone. "I was sincerely congratulating you on your quite logical and highly likely hypothesis." OoC: My bad, I should have defined what I was trying to do. I was trying to have one of those moments where a person uses a firm and cheerful voice to suggest that one thing is more certain/better/preferable to something else, and anyone who disagrees has to verbally challenge their opinion, something most people wouldn't do without sufficient provocations - in other words, intimidating them into following(or in this case, agreeing with) what they're saying. It's not exactly the "growling in your face" type of Intimidation, but it should still apply. Either way, though, that was way more than could have been figured out from my just saying "Intimidate."
  16. It wasn't an OoC action, I was posting in grey because I was applying Intimidation in the middle of a conversation without Lind pausing, and black would have visually broken it up into two parts. Also, because it was supposed to be more of a subtle action, rather than an over-the-top "I SPEAK AND YOU SHALL FOLLOW!"
  17. A class trait still applies if it's posted in OoC Grey, correct?
  18. "Thank you." Intimidate: "It does indeed sound very much like we have some sort of magic on our hands." "Very possibly - and if I might add, an excellent deduction on your part." The Black Knight turned to the others. "Make a note of that possibility, someone."
  19. Mine(if Sandy approves it) will be granting Zeigfried rep.
  20. The Black Knight sat down opposite from the Chieftan. "Yes, thank you. I do indeed have several questions. What exactly can you share with us about these...raiders, shall we refer to them as for the moment? Have you seen what they look like, what they...any strange machines or devices they use?"
  21. Not that I know of, but Sandy has to consider you ready to QM(as well as having a well-enough crafted quest), before you can start. Your RP sessions have definitely proved(at least to me), that you're capable of writing an interesting and compelling plot, but your non-player interactions...well, just going on your last two posts alone... "If you reassure people enough times of your own stupidity, they will take you at your word."
  22. I'm probably going to go back to the Fields someday for a Decamodifier(and a certain OP weapon), but I don't really think MoGs are what they first seem to be. Sure, the advanced leveling in #103 was fun, but I missed out almost entirely on being a rogue, and the rest of that time was spent fruitlessly Fielding for my own MoG. I get that at higher levels, the leveling does slow down to an extreme, but isn't that kind of the point? The highest level classes are there to be earned through long loyalty to the game, not jumping up through the game as quickly as possible. I've only been on #122 for a fraction of the two times* I went to the Fields, but in that short bit of time I've had more fun playing than the entire time I spent Fielding. Now, I'm not saying I didn't suffer from a particularly bad case of this when I was starting up my first FoG team, because I did, but I really think people need to focus more on the RP, and less on their levels and gear. It is called Heroica: The RPG for a reason... *Have there been any other PCs that toured part of the Fields twice in a row? Honestly curious.
  23. Got it. And, after carefully examining it...Yes, it does look like we have Green Futuron, people! I could try to come up with other possibilities it could, but that's just plain a triangle. There's nothing else that LEGO's produced like it, and I seriously doubt they'd come up with something so much like the design for no reason, when they could throw in a cameo like this. And, if you look close enough, the CS insignia is pretty obviously printed in the center. Now, if it only gets some good discounts...
