  1. Picked the game up, beaten the main story, now going around to collect the character tokens in the hubs before moving on. It's definitely a step up from the last game which is a little obvious, TBH. Things like not locking characters behind the terrible races, slightly better flight controls, and the fact that the cars actually have some weight to them and don't swerve around like, well, a plastic toy. Really pleased with the Hulkbuster, but I must say, the fact that Wanda can't hover or double-jump and just has that sad little combat role is a bit of a letdown. Anyone know if Civil War Wanda can do more than that, or is she just a clone with a different outfit. Some of the characters chosen surprised me. I really wasn't expecting Clor (Ragnarok), and I find it a little odd that certain characters are given subtitles despite not needing them. For example, Wasp (Classic) is the only Wasp in the game. Same with Human Torch (Original). That said, I've got the Prima guide, but I have to say... They really did screw the pooch when it came to navigation. There's no map or minimap, just a tiny radar HUD with no details indication of what it actually is that you're aiming for until you're already on top of it. The sole reason I was able to get around NYC in Lego Marvel was the map and waypoints. Removing them makes navigating the NYC hub a complete chore, and when it has forty-odd character tokens to find... that's really poor game design, and for the life of me, I can't figure out any reason to do it. It also results in all of the "Find four people" missions being unnecessarily frustrating because the radar blips for these entirely stationary NPCs keep moving around. In that respect, it's a lot like Lego Marvel: A very good main game with a hub/postgame that's let down by some really poorly-implemented design choices.
  2. I'm prolly going to pick this thing up when I get the chance. Looks pretty good to me. With regards to the stickers: I don't mind them. Sure, printed pieces are nice, but the advantage of the stickers is that you don't have to apply them. For example, I recently bought a dupe of 2015 Kopaka, and didn't apply the stickers to the dupe's thigh shells, so now I have those pieces in plain white. If they'd been printed, then every iteration would have that potentially colour-scheme/aesthetic-breaking pattern on it. WHat's better? This set having printed S-Foils, or being able to get those pieces in dark red without having to buy the much older/more expensive sets they came on before. With regards to the lack of saber storage... Good. It looks ridiculous on almost every set it's on (Sidious having a special storage compartment for his Force Lightning, Anakin's Lightsaber blade having its own bracket next to the hilt, etc). I'd rather take the Lightsaber out of Obi-Wan's hand and put it on the shelf next to the ship than do that. As for the droid socket: Like people have said: That's actually the most accurate the droid socket on any Eta-2 has ever been, and I like the change. EDIT: Got the set. I made the droid socket one stud deeper, and with that done, it's really cool. I did notice that the instruction book's advertisement for the Force Builder app shows a yellow version of the design. Is that actually going to be a thing
  3. I won't deny, they were rough to begin with (Pod Race... Pod Race!) but I actually loved the ones in LSWII.
  4. TBH, I think the vehicles became infinitely worse when they stopped having their own levels and started being hubworld gimmicks. And if they bring back Groot's godawful Whack-A-Mole missions, I'm not going to be unlocking every character. I'm already committed in Lego Marvel, but whoever thought they should give the moles invincibility frames is an idiot. The number of times I've been one mole off and the thing decides to dive back into its hole the moment before my fireball hits is just ridiculous.
  5. I got the first Lego Marvel for Christmas, I've beaten the main story, and I'm not going through and getting minikits, characters, and Stans. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get them all, unfortunately: The Excelsior Hulk Stan sidequest keeps glitching out, and collecting Gold Bricks isn't much fun- Added, finding my way around NYC isn't much fun, so I hope there's an easier way to get around if the player wants to. Having played Beyond Gotham a year prior, I can see the improvements made after Marvel, and if they can improve on LB3 with Avengers, that will be awesome. I really want them to fix the flight controls, I have real trouble with Silver Surfer's race on the Helicarrier because they can be incredibly janky when you're doing anything but travelling or hovering and raining missiles/fireballs/whatever on mooks. I'd also like to see the "Infinite Electricity" Red Brick from LB3 carry over to this one, it gets annoying having to charge Thor up constantly, and I honestly use Doom or the Magneto Acolyte more because they don't have to charge. I'm hoping the Hulkbuster can fly in this case. It was rather odd to me that Lex's Brickfig form in LB3 could fly in the boss battle, but couldn't when you played as it. And speaking of Tony, LB3-style Suit Wheel, please? And if Heartbreaker Iron Man returns, then give it the Uni-Beam rather than the laser, since the whole point of the Hearbreaker is a more powerful chest-cannon. Any news on whether you can give custom characters capes? It was a rather glaring omission from LB3, after being present in LB2 (Though I haven't made a character in Marvel yet, so I don't know how good the creator is), and it would be good to see things like that again. I'd also like to be able to choose my character's powers rather than have it decided by a build. It was incredibly frustrating that most options resulted in a powerless Batman clone unless you shoved a Lantern ring onto them or gave them Black Adam's face. Edit: Another feature: No bloody races. They've been awful in every attempt. THe controls just aren't tight enough, and the AI is flawless. You've got no way to slow them down, so if you screw up, you have to wait for the AI to complete the race before you can restart, and then you have to sit through the intro dialogue again. Forcing you to do them to unlock characters is right out. LB3 at least mostly replaced them with time trials, which eliminate the dialogue.
  6. I imagine that Ekimu might have his shield when he appears in next year's animations.
  7. He didn't have time to dig it up before attacking Kulta.
  8. Sharing the magic Onua-sticker-experience. I'd like to see that.
  9. I didn't really consider G2 as a separate, but if we are, then... Best: The MoCr, the Mask of Fire, and the totally-not-Arthron (Protector Mask) are my favourites. My least favourite of the ones released is probably the Mask of Air, which is a shame, because Lewa had my favourite build. However, I'm not much a fan of some of the new ones. The silver bits, both in shape and colour, put me off.
  10. Well, I'm not sure if we have one of these already, but if it does exist, then it's so old that using it would be necroposting. So, what are everybody's favourite and least-favourite masks? In Bionicle, Hero Factory, and anything else? For me, I might as well divide it up a bit. Bionicle Best: The Ignika Worst: Basically any Glatorian helmet that exposed most of the figure's face. Let's be honest, the Glatorian heads weren't great as faces, being all-trans and looking a lot like a certain Marvel Hero, weren't something you wanted to keep on-show. Hero Factory Best: Any of the 1.0/Breakout helmets. They all looked functional, they had their own identity, and they fit their characters. Worst: Brain Attack Bulk. I mean seriously.
  11. I guessed that, since he was a Great Spirit, he would be a vaguely humanoid entity with a Hau for a face. When Matoro said the Ignika was his mask in 2007, I replaced the Hau with the Ignika, since, well, what's more fitting for a god? A mask that anyone can wear, or the Ignika?
  12. I think the bones should've been longer, but then again I'm the weirdo that likes my Bonkles with long arms.
  13. I feel like there's a bit of a "Bionicle Cycle" since the reboot. 1) First pictures leak 2) Hype starts to build 3) Clearer pictures leak 4) Half the fanbase decides that the new sets are terrible and LEGO is trying to ruin Bionicle for the old fans. 5) The fanbase expresses the exact same thoughts over and over again on forums while scouring the images for the slightest hint of new content 6) FInal pictures release 7) Repeat step four and five 8) Sets release 9) Everyone goes and buys them regardless 10) Two weeks later, people start demanding the next set of leaks
  14. Alright, good news, I can probably get pics up of the MOC in her current state tomorrow. *EDIT* So it turns out my Dad's camera is an overcomplicated thing that half-turns itself off and my Dad is about as helpful as a chocolate teapot because he's one of these "LEGO is just for kids" clods.
  15. I love the way the art has the other Toa just goofing aroud in the background.
  16. Thank you all for the advice and ideas. There's a lot of stuff I want to do, but... well, I can't actually figure it all out. This is why I do stock most of the time, because I'm really bad at compact builds.
  17. Thanks for the feedback. I really need to get those pics so you can see what she's like at the moment. One thing that I need to stress is that, while offering suggestions is cool, I was more asking for guidelines on how to actually build a suitable torso, since, as I mentioned, I'm not very good at building things.
  18. Thanks for the advice, the issue is more a case of actually working out how to do it. As for the mask, I tried the Mask of Stone, but the eyes were too small and it made her neck look too long. However, when compared to the G1 masks, the Mask of Fire, looks a lot smaller and the chin doesn't look anywhere near as wide.
  19. I've been here for a while, and I've been intending to post MOCs ever since I joined up, and never getting things sorted out has been putting a leghold on that. Another thing that's getting in the way is that I'm not entirely pleased with the quality. I lean close to using stock designs- I'm one of those people without the money to buy an entire wave, let alone duplicates, so for me, parts are scarce. I'm also unemployed due to having just left sixth form and I don't have money to spend on Bricklink- and generally this results in my Toa builds being about a head taller than an Inika. One of the two female Toa I built has a different core build to everything else I've got (I made my Hahli design as "neutral" as possible because she's a canon character and we can infer from the sets that female Matoran are generally just as muscular and bulky as their male counterparts. Less "official" body designs are generally reserved for OCs), and there were a bunch of reasons for this. First off, she's a corrupted Toa of Psionics, so I wanted her to appear shorter and slimmer than the others because I like the idea that characters with powerful psionic powers are less developed physically. She has a custom torso to give her narrower shoulders, and she's about exactly between the height of an Inika and one of my other Toa. At the same time, I didn't want to make her look under-armoured, so she's still reasonably bulky. Her actual construction is a carry-over from the days before I decided that keeping female Toa burly was A-okay, and as such her torso has the dreaded nuvaboob. This is something I want to get rid of, but I'm a bit lacking in ideas for how to do so. THe best I've been able to come up with is "Use a Metru torso with the gold Gahlok Kal shield on the chest." I can't post pics right now, all I can give is some description: 1) She is approximately 22cm/9 inches tall. I can make her shorter, but not taller. 2) Her colour scheme is black and pearl gold. It's worth noting that while I have plenty of black pieces, the only sets with gold I own are Brutaka, Jaller Inika, most of Reidak, Toa Mata Nui, all but the Skrall of the Bonkle stars, all of the 2015 Toa, and Ekimu, no dupes. I also don't want to dismantle Tahu or Ekimu. 3) She has a 2015 head, with the gold Mask of Fire, though I am willing to change it if a different mask or a whole different head fits better on a new torso. 4) She has a waist joint, which is something else I want to keep. 5) If the design necessitates it, I can include trans-light blue. Basically, does anyone have a female torso design for a build that size, that I can replicate in black and gold, that doesn't use the nuvaboob, and they don't mind sharing?
  20. THe pics are also all on Bentheghost's DA page. I'm likingthe idea of Umarak combining with the beasts. Also, I'm pretty sure both Takua and Pewku and Takanuva were £15 upon release in the UK, but that might've just been certain stores. I can remember that Toa Lhikan and Kikanalo was a £20 release in Tesco, but when I saved up my money for eight weeks to buy it and then went to Toys R Us, I found him for £10. So I got Rahaga Iruni too.
  21. Hey, for some reason, Bonkle.com keeps giving me a gateway timeout on anything relating to the animations. Anyway, Trolling Makuta sounds perfect.
  22. I must be the only person here who actually liked Toa Mata Nui. The thing I don't like about the Trans-Orange is that Tahu looks so much better when all of his shells are red and so does Narmoto, so the trans-orange becomes a detriment to me.
  23. I think I like previous handlings of red and gold more than 2016 Tahu. Lhikan looked like a red guy wearing gold armour, so did Jaller Inika, and so did Starhu. 2015 Tahu does the same, but 2016 Tahu just has too much gold. Also, still with the trans-orange. I'm going to have to start buying dupes and whole bricklink orders of red shells soon.
  24. Guess there's not much demand for Lego on the Deep Web?
  25. Back in Gen 1, new Bonkles tended to get this reponse: 2003 Wave 1: Sweet, new Bohrok! And they're silver! 2003 Wave 2: They've got sticks! They must be ninjas! 2003 Large Sets: I need Jaller now! 2004 Wave 1: The Turaga are Toa now? Cool! 2004 Wave 2: They transform and this is awesome! 2004 Large Sets: *Gawks dumbly at Ultimate Dume* 2005 Wave 1: Oh hey, spiders. And they have spinners that go for fifty feet! 2005 Wave 2: Oh hey, mutants. These are cool. 2005 Large Sets: Why does this Bionicle have boobs? 2005 Playsets: Hello, Christmas Present. 2006 Wave 1: Light up eyes! I want one! 2006 Wave 2: The Matoran from old waves are now Toa and they have lightsabers. I need this in my life. 2006 Large Sets: Axonn and Brutaka are the best thing ever. Axonn has fingers! 2006: Playsets: Toa minifigs with articulation! 2007 Wave 1: This thing is a glow-in-the-dark mantis-man. I need it. 2007 Wave 2: Still the old Matoran and still awesome. Also, gatling guns! 2007 Large Sets: Maxilos is the new best thing ever. 2007 Playsets: These look cool but the colours are wrong. 2008 Wave 1: The old Toa and they can fly, and they're fighting creepy vampire Makuta and they fuse with Matoran? Best. Year. Ever. 2008 Wave 2: These are kinda lame but I still want them. 2008 Large Sets: I need this Takanuva and Icarax 2008 Battle Vehicles: Oh. My. Gods. I didn't even care about most of the issues until 2009, when that came about more because I didn't like the new story setting. And that faded away immediately when I watched a video about leaked Bionicle summer sets and I saw Mata Nui. Bionicle's marketing tended to work perfectly on me,and clashing textures and such things didn't matter to me at all. In fact, I loved how super-detailed the sets were.
