You can't even imagine how much you made me laugh with that sentence, Aanchir, for I imagined a person doing what you just said and it was just hilarious. Also, how the hell I've never seen it that way before?!

Actually it was just for economic purposes, since creating a model for a maskless face would have been used very few times while costing time and money. It wasn't worth the effort, substancially. Besides, I've always found the heads of BIONICLE had great charm, with their emotionless expression (y'know, they're robots). Also, they're alien compared to us One thing I noticed and quite disturbed me: you can't say Kikanalo without saying anal.

I'm asking it here, since it may have an interesting connection to BIONICLE's future: how is Legends of Chima doing? I've read that sales are not exceptional, and Ninjago is the line to go as far as System is concerned. So, does anyone know more about the subject?

My first Bionicle was a Pahrak Kal back in '04, on my birthday. Vakama and Matau were bought that very same day, and Tahu and Lewa will be my first rebooted sets :D Also Pohatu because he is my favourite Mata.

Meanwhile Bzpower's community is still discussing the "is it fake or real???" leak topic. Do you think Bzpower will still lay in the shadows next year? Yes or yes?

I now understand your point, and I completely agree with you. The whole "putting the LEGO word" in front of a theme's name may deeply change the way people see your product.

I have to disagree with you about this. BIONICLE was LEGO first real success in the constraction area, becoming itself one of LEGO's biggest success of all times. Putting a "from the makers of BIONICLE characters" logo on HF's first wave was just an attempt to capitalise on BIONICLE's strong name among retailers and families. EDIT: the very same way Pixar, to name one big company, puts a "from the makers of Nemo, Incredibles etc." on every new movie they make.

I don't know about you, but in 2008 I was sick tired of Makuta Teridax still being around, after having seen him "defeated" a million of times. The Bara Magna arch was the most fascinating since a while IMHO, with a tribe feel we hadn't seen since 2003 (or even '01) adn FINALLY a decent explanation to the origins of the MU. If we had seen all the things you mentioned (new Exo.oa etc.) it would have been really uncreative. Bara Magna was a fresh start, and if it was given the three years story arch it was going to, I think there would be more Bara Magna and Glatorian lovers out there, beyonde me and a couple of fellas.

I think is we're likely to see some huge changes in the first waves of BIONICLE G2, as far as building is concerned.

Sorry, crappy reading comprehension One thing that really makes me sad is reading people praising HF's "free thinking" as opposed to BIONICLE's fixed set of story rules. I find this way of thinking really conformist: who on earth told you to follow religiously the storyline? Hero Factory is creative as much as BIONICLE was, since they both give you robots to play with. I can take my Toa Mata and pretend thyey're japanese buisnessmen, for instance, and no thought police is gonna cuff me. What the story bible says is of no concern when you have a mind of your own to build whatever on earth you may come up with. Also, as it was noted, BIONICLE had so many particulars under a strict storyline perspective it was a gold mine for imagination fuel (as well HF did, but with far less species involved etc.). @Aanchir, I was of course referencing to the bulding system itself, with the same armor piecies since 2011 (more or less).

I agree with everything you say, except this very part. In the years you call of twilight BIONICLE had its most diverse and creative builds, even for canister sets (Barraki, Phantoka, Glatorian). HF, and that's sadly true, hasn't changed anything since 2011as far as building are concerned. Also, something I really enjoyed of BIONICLE was the great variety of parts we got, so I could tell that leg was from a Rahksi or that arm from a Hordika.

Guys, there's one really important thing no one has pointed yet. With BIONICLE (possibly) returning next year, the situation surrounding it will be MUCH different than in 2001. In that year LEGO had no other line with a story backing it up, and the company was having a very bad time, thus making BIONICLE an almost necessary attempt to give new life to the danish toy giant. Today, 2014, LEGO is living a new golden age, and lines like Ninjago and Chima make tons of money while providing an acceptable story inspired by natural elements, in a similar fashion to the one BIONICLE had in its early years. My concern is, will BIONICLE have enough room to shine? What I fear is that, even though part of different LEGO sub-themes, Ninjago and Chima won't let BIONICLE succeed, since for today's kids they talk about similar things and, moreover, they're more familiar with ninjas and lions these days than robots and masks. So many lines, so similar topics

I perfectly got the reference, and mentioning that way Anakin didn't sound all that funny IMHO, but really like someone who remembers vaguely what he's talking about. But c'mon, chill out, the pleb/patrician thing is one of the oldest concepts of the internet, no weird offence behind that really, a cup of tea won't hurt some people in here (beginning from myself, finals are killing me  )

Oh, I perfectly understand now. Thanks for the exhaustive answer. Reading again my post it looked like I was angered, which of course I was not Still, it's a shame that all that potential got throwed right into the bin.

I'd love to hear an explanation about that point, since I think both, especially the latter, just threw at us characters over characters without giving us any better inspiration than BIONICLE did since its beginning. I even think that the undisputedly shallow story of Hero Factory underlined the "here's a robot, buy it" aspect of LEGO constraction figures; on the other hand BIONICLE tried somehow to give a more or less intriguing story able to fire up the imagination of a kid. In short, how did HF improve the freedom for fans to create their own characters?

Anyway, even though it's been just two weeks since the whole "Bionicle Confirmed" discussion has exploded, it seems like a far longer time. And I really enjoy sharing all the new information with you guys, this is a fantastic community! (and since I'm coming from 4chan you should understand how pleased I am).

I think Dorek's attitude has become July's joke here in Eurobricks. Birth of an epic new meme I'd say :DD "Germany won the world cup" "They're probably trying to fool us, until LEGO says it I won't believe it"
