Yes, yes....the whole "Pirates vs. Ninjas" thing is a common myth....the truth is Ninja pirates rule....."Ninja" makes everything better....even turtles.... -
[SR - FB1] Tzomo's promotion to Captain....
Vedauwoo replied to Vedauwoo's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Well, still working on that stash of trans light blue / clear / trans dark blue studs.....it's amazing how little coverage a large cup full gives..... So, let's just say the seas were obscured by a dense, low lying fog that day....yar....yes, that is it! -
This hangs me up as well....it can be hard to remember if I've done all the steps....well, actually, it's just the "license" part....everything else (original post, post in the freebuild or challenge thread) is easy to check...but there's no receipt or weekly report of licenses issued to help double check that you've completed the process....you just don't find out until you are short income you expected the next month.... Is there a way to set up the license form to allow one to "view all entries" for the month and see if theirs is in the list? Seems right now, the only way to see that info is after filling a completed form. Even just a "printscrn" image from the "submitted" page might be enough...
-
Perhaps as a check to prevent abuse.....player would fill out form and pay for license as usual, but because they check the "replace free build" box (this would be new on the form or something) they would get a "funds transfer" reimbursement from the "powers that be" whether that be the faction leadership, prize court, etc.... That way everyone follows the same process, but the free ship allows for a reimbursement.....

Saga of the Sea Rats, Volume 1: Piraat Rhys in Bastion Previous: Running Guns to Rassilon Next: An interesting day in Granoleon... Ooc: Not sure if this should be FB1 or FB(story).....it's mainly a story entry with minor improvements to Antigone's Fury. I'd be happy for it to be a simple story build and present new build for April FB 1 & 2, just let me know.... |~+=@&@=+~|~+=@&@=+~|~+=@&@=+~| Log Entry 2 April 616 Bastion Bay, Nest of Thieves Captain Rhys Flaidd DeTaillefer Today we have both ships running trials in Bastion Bay..... coming alongside on Flickr After two fairly profitable trade runs under my supervision, Tzomo has shown great aptitude at running the affairs of a sea vessel, as well as becoming an invaluable member of our team in Bastion.... Handing over the helm on Flickr "It is with great honour that I bestow upon you the rank of Captain, with all the responsibilities it entails....." Honours to Captain Tzomo! on Flickr "Men, may I present Captain Tzomo of Le Dindon!" (Huzzah's echo from the crews) "May he serve you well until his death, you deem him unfit, or both...." Promotion to Captain on Flickr This has been a great boon to my workload....allowing me to focus on much needed improvements to Antigone's Fury, like the new jib sails.... New Jib Sails on Flickr ...and widening those blasted hatches to the lower deck! Now we can finally get meaningful cargo down there, instead of filling her with simple raw ballast.... hatches to bottom deck on Flickr We also placed some of Anais' new rifled chase guns at her bow.... Chase Guns - Antigone's Fury on Flickr The crew seems happy with their new Captain...... Meeting Le Dindon on Flickr And, let's face it......He's a natural! Huzzah for Captain Tzomo! on Flickr ================================================ Thanks for visiting!

Did we lose out 50% property license cost? I can't seem to find it anywhere in the "revamped" rules.... On the otherhand...Artisan properties now earn +30%! -
Would this sort of arrangement also mean that a ship's "winnings" would not be safe until they visit a "home port?" Thus making MRCA #3 run earnings a potential prize/loss during MRCA #4, etc until the ship returns home to offload the gold?
-
Quick question.....have the "approval" bonus dubloons been rewarded for FB 3+ that were posted since the beginning of the game? Just looking over my speadsheet and I have nothing entered for them yet. For that matter, perhaps we really need a player to volunteer to be the "bank" or "registrar" to at least give us a check on our actual balance once a month or so.....or perhaps this could be done "on request" to verify a player's numbers. I know I suck at keeping track of my bank acct. in real life, I can't imagine I'll be much better in game...lol
-
I agree....seems our faction needs some sort of special "raider mechanic" akin to Corrington's Science and Eslandolia's Trade Companies......I think the "tax break" is supposed to be this...but it seems our reduced income leaves us at the bottom of the factions as far as earnings..... But, then again...I'm not really sure what the DB's and FIP's are used for at the faction level anyway....
-
Not to mention the expense and hassle of having to Bricklink order 50-60 cannons.....
-
This is an approach I use as well.....perhaps because I started out in AG, where all builds are generally secret and posted at the last minute each week before the deadline.... I tend to take comments and critiques and apply them to my NEXT build.....as often a build has already been scrapped for parts by the time the pictures are posted....I like to Bricklink when I can...but I can in no way afford the parts and space to keep every build assembled for "tweaking." I would propose going in the opposite direction....a build is posted once....no upgrades...if you need to improve, show that on the next build.... Whoops...lol, was looking at crew rating...
-
So, the 1st rate SOTL can haul 120% of a settlement's trade value.....isn't that a fiscal impossibility?
-
I've really enjoyed it thus far...but I've been rather on the lucky side! I can't wait to see the new changes....perhaps ways to earn "modifiers" to assist crew, guns, etc. ratings?....training crewmen?.....who knows!

I'd like to propose the three "faction vessels" be named Hecate, Circe, and Medea.....in honour of the three witches of creativity and healing from Greek mythology... and....they don't seem to have any other names....lol -

What did you use to make your maps? -
Well, if it is fer real...here's mine...I can always use extra DBs....... : A new Arrival in Bastion.... - 3 Moonraker Sail Company - 5 Le Dindon - 2 The Father and the son... - 2 A Wonderful Machine - 7 Casualties of the Storm - 2 No one expects the Olean Inquisition - 12 The Bastion Otchet - 1 Far Horizons Salvage and Shipworks - 6 Antigone's Fury - 7 Leaving Granolean - 1 A Beacon in the Night - 1 A Shanty by the Sea - 0 A Powerful Friend - 2 Outside of Belson - 0 Brotherhood of the Red Dragon - 12 63 * 0.15 = 9.45
-
That could be.....but it could also be a whole "minifig minigame" to promote diversity in the appearance of folks in our builds...coming up with new and interesting combinations for a minifig as a low DB yield minigame...

So....do "named" critter crew members and others in stories count as population? Like "Polly the parrot" "Lt. Whiskers" and "Petunia?"
