  1. Most sets get dismantled after a few days, up to a week. I admire then for a while, then put into containers. Exceptions are the new Millennium Falcon, all the Modulars, Imperial Flagship, VW Van, R2-D2, Mini Modulars and once I get it, Haunted House. As long as I have somewhere to put it, the sets that took hours to build, basically any D2C set will stay together.
  2. No wonder I couldn't find any. You have them all. Looks good, can't wait to see the whole thing.
  3. Wow! That is awesome. I guess we shouldn't expect any less. Very cool, I particularly like the scope, very accurate.
  4. Yeah, like the X-Wing or TIE fighters or Hogwarts.
  5. Actually, the Wolverine set is based off a comic. It was discussed here earlier. Someone MOCed up a cliff and did a scene from the comic with it.
  6. Im with you. While I buy moat of the licensed stuff. I wish they'd have their own themes dominate the shelves. Over the past couple of years, there has been a lot of great in house themes/sets. 10193 MMV and more recently, 10228 Haunted House, just to name a few. There's Atlantis, Pharaohs Quest, Alien Conquest, Dino, and now Monster Fighters. All brilliant themes. I certainly would like to see less licensed and more original themes, and make them last. Not necessarily true. It's not like LEGOs Mjolnir is just a big, fantasy type weapon that I'm sure they could've came up with on their own. They make plenty of cool, original weapons. If they didn't have that mold, they certainly would've made something great, maybe even better.
  7. Anyone know why they do those oddball releases, 9465 in particular? There have been others too...5888, 6857.
  8. It wasn't that people here were bashing the set because they didn't like it. They flat out accused the designer of plagiarism. That's a pretty serious offense for not even knowing anything of the timeline for 10228. That would certainly make me mad. After spending months(maybe years) and having such a great final product, then he gets word that people are accusing him... For the record, before this thread, I never saw that haunted house. Adam, don't let those people get you down or upset(anymore than you are...) because you have created a brilliant and definitely one of the top sets to ever be released. A job well done.
  9. Well quit your slackin' and get to it!
  10. What about a walking cane? The kind with a handle on it It wouldn't even need to be big, just big enough when they have their arms straight down. That way the old folks could get around better.
  11. If the Winter Village set were, say expensive as the Haunted House, at least it would be equally as detailed. So, that's a plus. When did we get news of 10222 last year?
  12. This is so great. The monitor is awesome, perfect. The other details-the blinds, his chair- brilliant! Awesome work.
  13. Great review! This is a neat set. The tow car...is a bit weird. I would've liked another regular car instead. The structure is a bit bare bones though. I would've liked it to be brick built instead, though. This will look good plopped in a layout. The gas pumps though...I don't know. If you want to put the garage in a downtown setting, the pumps won't really look good. I'm sure some great city builder will incorporate it.
  14. Why would he lie about seeing/not seeing it? It wouldn't gain him anything by doing so... Of course at a distance they're going to look the same, the shape/color is the same. Nobody is denying that.
  15. I just really looked at 9465 and looked at the crystal in the set. I must say, that is an AWESOME icon. The best of the bunch.
  16. I highly recommend this set. It's a great set. You only need to read this thread to see how great it is. Wouldn't hesitate too much longer on this, it may not be around much longer. You'll be kicking yourself if you don't buy this.
  17. Nice photos, especially the last. The mystery of ACPin still remains. Good interview guys, I enjoy reading these little insights into our longtime members.
  18. Also, the gun effects are a bit much. 3 different blasts from tye same gun is strange. They should just all be red lasers, like they are in the movies. Everything else looks good, you're doing great.
  19. Nice one agentofchaos. That's a great use of the hair, it's a good fit.
  20. Looking at the side by side natesroom posted you can clearly see there's more differences than similarities. Of course they're going to be the same shape, look at all the real houses that have been posted, they're ALL the same shape. Besides, who cares if he saw that house and used some things from it he saw and liked. This argument is ridiculous. All MOCers do it. I read it all the time on here, "I'm gonna use that technique" "neat _____, I'm gonna use that" and so on. Are we really making a big deal just because it's a LEGO designer? Is he supposed to be above that and only make a model using new, never before seen models? Give me a break. I'm ready and waiting September. For all you calling foul, don't buy it.
  21. My point wasn't on the gum, it was the seemingly insignificant five cents that the owner would've missed out on. Sure, it's only five measly cents that he probably wouldn't miss, but it's still stealing.
  22. I don't know any details, but someone mentioned that they heard from someone that it's going to be bigger this year. It's back a few pages.
  23. Well, one positive opinion here. I liked it just as much as any otter Modular. I thought the build was great fun. Exterior/interior are nice. It doesn't really matter if theres no new techniques or anything. The final outcome is all I really care about. Of course the build matters, and as long as all the buildings look different the build and techniques will be different. And, you get the nice Sand Blue too.
