What would it take for you to stop purchasing Lego?
Vindicare replied to Blackicep8ntball's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I still don't see what the big stinking deal is. This whole thing is ridiculous. I don't know why anyone would shine a flashlight at the bricks just for the hell of it...he was obviously looking for problems. I know I've never said while building, "Gee, I think I'm going to shine a flashlight on my bricks while building." And the argument of it feels/looks different is bull. I had built and held and checked out the car(that's quite a James Bond-Ish seat)and there was no problem with any piece of the car. -
Option to manually change skins

It's FABULOUS! I feel like royalty with all this purple staring me in the face. I don't particularly care for this either. But, at the same time, it doesn't bother me. If I could roll with Hello Kitty, I can roll with this. I do kind of like that green, gives this pastel world a little "pop". Kudos Shadows and Hinckley, well played. -
How about chicken and waffles? Ever had, if so, how is it? It seems like an odd pairing.

Hmm...whatever it is, I can't wait! Although, I may have to charge TLG with cruelty to customers releasing 10228 and 10229 so close together.

Rest assured, you can count on me for one or the other. If you're lucky, both.

Yes. That's why they have smilies, to invoke emotion in your post. There was no haha, jk, just messin', no smilies. Let this be a forum lesson for next time, use smilies. -
Like it! I like that you didn't stick to the 3 story building type. Great variation with your buildings. I will definitely keep tabs on this and can't wait for it to be finished. Great start.

Yesterday at TRU I saw the race car polybag, here in Northern California area.

Creepy Modular Fence Expansion Pack

Me too. For integration with the Modulars or a town layout, it would look weird with just a front fence. -
[Pictorial Review] 30201 Ghost
Vindicare replied to Plissken's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Very nice review, good pictures showing of this little delight. I need this for the Haunted House. Are you able to buy polybags from S@H? I've never looked for them, but I would for this. Or is my only hope is that TRU will get it. -
I really like that 501 variant. Very nice!(Borat voice)

Good, humorous review! Good pictures as well. I'm just not a fan of this set really... I saw plenty at my TRU a few weeks ago, just couldn't bite. The DKR cowl doesn't do much for me, especially the ill fitting-ness of it. Nonetheless, good job on this review, all around. Oh, and try putting the fins under the flick fires.

Ha! Looks like Wayne has been spending time in R&D with Lucius Fox at Wayne Enterprises.

Certainly can't fault you for that, the Modulars are awesome. I would get 10225 ASAP! It is such a great and fun build. Seeing him come into being brick by brick was so much fun.

I don't doubt it. I feel for China, now whenever any problem arises, 8 million fingers(give or take ) will be pointing at them, without proof more than likely. -

Monster Fighters 2012

This sir, is a cruel joke. Bragging about already building 10228 and "posting" a video, only to it being a different one... So mean. -

What would it take for you to stop purchasing Lego?
Vindicare replied to Blackicep8ntball's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Oh, my bricks suffer from shiney-light-syndrome . But when people are saying that it was some kind of sneaky move by TLG, or to boycott, or black list 9466, that is overreacting. Not to mention all the people throwing blame at China, with zero proof that brick came out of that factory. -
Hopefully it will remain a Friend(s)ly competition and doesn't lead to that.

Monster Fighters 2012
Vindicare replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Eh, I can't either. It just seems to be the norm to blame China when they see stuff like this. Even when theres no proof that that brick came from. I think Nabii over at Brickset said it best. Posted by Nabii in Denmark, 20 Jun 2012 15:18 Current 2x4 bricks are thinner walled then those made about 5 years ago, this led to more consistent clutch power and in natural light they are suppossed to look the same, but of course if you back light them they will be more transparent - in any colour. I'd like to know if the 1x2 or 2x2 had similar issues. Either way if you are not happy, call consumer services. One thing though - not one of these is made in China. -

There's a lot of overreactions over at Brickset. It's really quite sad what some are saying. Comments like we should black list 9466, or boycott LEGO altogether. I don't really see what all the uproar is anyways. Yes, I see the difference when shone with a flashlight. Really though, theres no differences in the brick under normal light. The color, rigidity and clutch power were all fine. I built the set and never noticed a thing.
