CMF Series 17 Guessing Game
Tech Artist replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Ah ok. So we can guess things they've already done just with a variation on it. Let me try: 1) Chef: This has to happen! 2) Elephant Suit: I like the lobster idea but this also works. 3) DJ: Updated version given the popularity of electronic and dance music. This is probably a long shot out of all my guesses but I really want to see an updated version to a modern DJ. 4) Bicyclist: I looked through all the CMF lines and this hasn't been done yet?! Seems so obvious. Though they did just come out with one in Fun in the Park but I'd like to see a CMF version with more bells and whistles. 5) Motorcyclist: Same as above. There was a mechanic but come on, a mechanic without his bike?! Shame. 6) Basketball Player: This makes sense. We have a football player so why not this? They've done basketball in the past so this isn't a hard idea. 7) Artist: Updated version. More modern like a graphic designer or something with a computer. 8) Firefighter: This makes sense. They've done it in City quite often so this isn't a hard idea. 9) Barber: They did a barber in 10246: Detectives Office so why not a CMF version? Something really stylized. 10) Crab or Lobster Fisherman: If they are going to do a lobster suit someone has to catch him. I'd also like to see other types of fisherman/women. 11) School Kid: Backpack and books. 12) Australian Outback Guy: Think something like Steve Irwin or Johnny Thunder(the closest I've seen them come to anything from Australia). He could be an explorer, or snake wrangler, or something. Lego has never done anything from there except the Sydney Opera House that I am aware of or could find. 13) Hawaiian Ukulele player: They have a Hula Dancer so why not a Ukulele player to go with her? Or have Mariachi Guy and Ukulele play alongside each other! 14) Photographer: I'd like to see a general photographer with a different camera then the standard one available(something similar to more expensive ones these days), tripod, and other things. 15) Demon: You have Spooky Boy, Spooky Girl, Series 14. Why not just a straight up Demon although more family friendly. Could be Ghostbuster-esque. 16) Raver or party girl or guy: A Minifigure who likes to go to raves or parties. Could dance to the DJ figs sick beats or Batman's! -
CMF Series 17 Guessing Game
Tech Artist replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Have they ever repeated a character? Like not an exact copy but one that was very similar and almost a copy. -
Lego Store in Gurnee Mills Gurnee,IL has them. They have I think maybe a set left. Lots of duplicate Rogues and Dog Show Judge figs. Couple baby figs left. This set was a pain to feel for the 6 I wanted. My fingers hurt but after a while of feeling you really get to know what your feeling. I'll get the rest at a later date.

I don't know I'm surprised to be seeing September dates. Maybe they got them and that was the date before Lego bumped it? Dunno. My Lego store said to call them next week(Tuesday is their truck day) and that's what I'm gonna do. I can't waste gas on wild goose chases anymore like I did with S15. Plus honestly, I just like buying them directly from my Lego store if I can. They are super chill about it and had pre feeled bags on release day of S15.

My local Lego store is telling me likely next week they will get a shipment of series 16 in. So I'll be waiting till then. I'm happier with this outcome as my work schedule goes back to normal so I can make the time to go get at least a few of them. The guy said there will always be stores that get them first. Edit: I will be getting multiple banana man figs to go with my 6 shark ones. :)

The portal build for FBAWTFT looks amazing. I'll definitely be getting that story pack and changing my portal to that. This is a great time for this game!

My main problem with this whole thing is stock. Disney sold out FAST and honestly I can't help but wonder how much of that stock went to scalpers. I never got 1 figure because I couldn't get them at the right time(and haven't really wanted to since then just out of anger but I will try again in Sept). So, it's all well and good but they better have the stock to be able to sell them and allow people to be able to get them that actually want to buy them and not just resell them.

What the heck?! I am hoping they give some sort of official release date. I had planned to have the money for a full set by September and get the day off so I could go get them. Now I have to hope the TRU near my work has them or that I can get them after work sometime at my local Lego Store and once again I get to deal with just getting this set in pieces which was a pain with S15... I am actually kinda mad at Lego for just dropping this on us with no word what so ever...

Marvel Superheroes 2017 - Set Discussion
Tech Artist replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I like the idea but honestly I just don't see myself buying these. Then again, I've never been a fan of most of these brick built figures. Some I like but there mostly non-human-bi-pedal ones(that's the best description I can give) like a Zelda Kerby I saw recently. Maybe I'm just used to Minifigures?- 5,808 replies

Chicago Museum of Science and Industry LEGO exhibit
Tech Artist replied to rollermonkey's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That's the reason I haven't gone to this exhibit. As awesome as I'm sure it is, it's not worth the price that museum charges. If you want a free, although smaller, Lego exhibit to check out, go check out the Americana Road Show touring malls across the country. Free and very impressive. Edit: Didn't realize this was an old topic. Just bumped recently.- 14 replies

I am disappointed they didn't do a full castle and just put it on hinges so it could open up but the detail that went into this is just incredible that I am willing to forgive that. Now I wait for someone to buy 2 and put them together. :)

It's a lot better than I expected it to be. I want to see the inside if there is any inside.

... Wtf... Please no.

These are incredible. Good assortment of characters over a range of themes. That Doorman sticks out to me though. Just elegant! You should see if you could get these produced in a couple ways. Submit these ideas to Lego somehow and maybe see if any of the custom Lego people out there would help you bring these to life. If these were real, I'd buy some of these, mainly the doorman.

Too bad in one year that will be even more impossible as they will be dropped into Jupiter and my guess is likely destroyed. :( At least Jupiter won't be in trouble anymore and can get on with his affair. This is awesome though. So well crafted and I'd love to see these produced as minifigures we can buy. QUICK SOMEONE CREATE CUSTOM VERSIONS!

The paywall hits you very quickly. I want to get to a 100% but the cost is starting to weigh me down. I'm at a point with the game where I kinda don't want to play until I can afford to buy the packs I need to actually make a big amount of progress instead of tiny steps.
