  1. Gasps in shock! It's my long-lost brother! Or Cousin! Or an idetical me from an alternate dimension! Or something like that. We even have the same name! Now, how to tell us apart.. We are going to have to have some fun with this! Sirius Black (the first)
  2. Best Chance for this is a 3 for 2 deal at TRU and hope that they have it in stock.. My TRU has been out of HP since mid-December, so i have to shop online, or through a Lego store. BTW, you really ought to reconsider if you are looking for a two for three deal, it isn't a very good one. Well, for you, that is. .
  3. I was planning on posting this earlier, but haven't had much time on the forum lately. Anyway, I picked up 3 Alamut Fortresses, Quest Against time, the Ostrich Race, and 4 Desert Attacks from the PoP theme, the Mon Cal cruiser, 2 ISDs (midi scale), 3 PAB cups, and 20 clone walker battle packs, all for half off! Well, not the PAB cups, of course. I was quite pleased to get the CWBPs as they were the last shipment to my local Lego store. Now, what to do with them... Oh, and i just found a Hogwarts Castle for $115 w free S@H on eBay, suffice to say, it is no longer available . Sirius
  4. I didn't even think about that! It is more likely that they would give us Padfoot though, which still is good. But Siriusly, I would love that!
  5. Great Work! This is one of the largest Hogwarts that i have seen so far! I especially like the windows on the back, they are spot on! Another thing that I really like is the roofing. That's quite a lot of those plates! Are you planning on finishing Hogwarts any time soon? Sirius
  6. I do believe that some of the connecting holes were designed that way so that the different parts of the castle could be rearranged, and not just for future expansion (which is possible). Besides the old Hogwarts sets and the Life on Mars, I cannot remember very many instances where sets were designed to join together. Well, you could, but then you be in a rather difficult situation... Funny how that works.. Seems that with almost all of the sets this year, people are willing to spend near-retail to just get the figs, and then the seller gets the set for dirt cheap. I mean, when they can get the set from TLG (albeit with a month of backorder) for retail, it is pretty sad. I just saw a Diagon Alley go for $220 on eBay, which is ridiculous. Good sell though! I wasn't able to get $100 for mine, so i just kept em. .
  7. Well, i am glad that we are getting HP sets this next year, but it seems that TLG is releasing a fairly small line. Too small, in my opinion..... I am wondering if there are further sets that we do not have information on, because three (four if you include the January release) sets is an incredibly small production line. I am guessing that all of these sets are going to cost less than USD $60 or so. This does make it seem like that we could have a few more sets show up in later news leaks or releases. Looking forward to more information on these!
  8. Well, i can't say that this set is one of my favorites. I do like the figures though, and the parts selection, but the vehicle and the price just don't do it for me. For a $50 dollar set, this doesn't come with much. So the cockpit is single fig? Or is it a dual seater.. I think it is the former, but I am not sure...
  9. Not that he's out yet, but Mr Sparrow from PoTC looks pretty sharp, so I'm going with him. Gotta love those dreadlocks . Close seconds are Batman, Vader (probably one of the best SW figs ever made, especially the Chrome one), and Harry Potter.
  10. Glad to hear that you like them! Some I do design myself, but my current one was not one that i did. I try to design new ones every few weeks, and then rotate between them. Sounds like I am in sirius need of a new avatar....
  11. Sounds more like a milkshake recipe to me (Shaken, not stirred). Cant imagine that it would be a popular one though..... I am curious about the factors leading to a cat being the result of a boggart. Do you suffer from ailurophobia?
  12. After careful deliberation, i am going to have to go with.. NinjaGo. This theme is incredibly chaotic. We have our medieval ninjas facing off against dead skeletons, but that isn't enough, so we give our skeletons Harleys to go with the skull theme, and then to even the odds, throw in a few ATVs and Tanks. Then to tie in the fantasy element, we throw in a few "ice" dragons (isn't that an oxymoron, folks), and then somehow or other, we introduce bowling to the works. I don't know about you, but that just seems slightly unusual.
  13. And what if we are already potterized? Are we required to create a sig-fig, or can I keep my hut? I do rather like it, after all.... Or its predecessor So do they work? Sirius
  14. I don't know if this thread has been thought of before, but i have a suspicion that it has... Anyway, Having a few Ravenclaws (Cho, Luna in uniform) and Hufflepuffs (Cedric) would be nice, as would be having a more complete line of professors. With DH 1 out, i would like to see Yaxley, Scrimgeour, Kingsley. A new Moody would be nice as well. However, my most Sirius request would be for better Lupin and Sirius figures. The first ones were siriusly bad. Black looked nothing like he does in the movies, and lupin's hair and face weren't all that great. Honestly, they gave Lupin and Lockheart the same hairpiece, it just doesn't do it. Sirius
  15. 100 battle packs! $6000 on Lego Good grief! Do you run a Bricklink store, or just collect armies? Going back to the original topic, another point is that the majority of these sets are older ones, and are selling slower than the new sets. To make up for this, the prices are dropped. This combined with the explanation of new sets coming out should give an idea of why sets are placed on sale. It does seem as though set sales have slacked off over the last few years. I can remember Amazon putting Mars Mission at half off, and, even better, getting a couple of At-At sets at half off! Amazon used to put dozens of sets at 25-75 percent off over the holidays, but now, it seems to be a dollar or two off poorly selling sets for a regular sale. Sirius
  16. Well, i have a mixed opinion about this. I agree with Sandy that the exterior seems a bit bland, it is described in the books as being eye catching, and enough to get passers-by to stare in shock at it. I personally would have gone a bit more colorful on the exterior, (still might, once i decide what to build!) But on the other hand, the interior is absolutely fabulous! I love your technique for the flooring on the second story, and the chandelier is great. The interior fits right in with the Harry Potter line of this year, it is so filled with details. To some extent, it reminds me of Ollivanders, regarding the level of detail. Anyway, this is great work, and best of luck to you in the contest! (Well, in all Siriusness, second best might be preferrable to me ) Sirius
  17. These are Siriusly funny! The second one remains my favorite, but all are hysterical! Now if we could just get a few HP ones.......
  18. Your average price per pound on ebay for general bricks will typically range from 5-7 dollars, though for good lots, it may be 6 to 8. The best deals that you can typically find on great star wars lots are in the range of 8-12 dollars (most recent lot was 12 pounds (with a complete 7662 MTT ) for about $110 US dollars. If i were you, i would Siriusly snatch that lot up as soon as possible! Or you could just send me the address, and i would be willing to buy ! Siriusly, dont let an offer like this pass you by. S.B.
  19. Jovial? Over the deaths of five townies? Something is rotten in the state of Denmark, me thinks......
  20. Impressive Creation! While the grey walls dont quite do it for me, the room has a great layout! I remember that staircase, and it is located accurately. What really sparks this creation is the figs. I love the expressions of the characters! Lavender has a great hairpiece, it reminds me of the movies. The birds were excellently done as well! Siriusly, when can we expect more works! Sirius (I am )
  21. Come on... How are the mafia able to take out five in one day? That must be a record! The town is doomed . Well, at least I no longer have an alter-ego to keep up. Back to being good ol' Sirius Black. Siriusly! Out of curiosity, why are the mafia always so bloody in their killings? A simple poison would do.... Now taking bets on the winners. 2-1 odds for the Noodles Susan Sirius Black
  22. Whoah, not everybody needs to vote for the same person. Once five votes are reached, he is convicted. So some of you should consider transferring votes. In fact, (not naming anyone here, just stating a assumption), it is slightly suspicious of various people to jump on the bandwagon after a conviction is reached. Susan
  23. which is why it makes little sense for Mr Adie to frame him. This is not a vote that i am sure about, but this still seems to be our best bet. If this is a framing, i know who I am voting for.
  24. It seems that we have two leading suspicions. Mr Boy, and Mr Leg. I am more inclined to vote for Mr Leg, as if that vote is false, we know who lied to us. It seems to me to be a good choice, as we do not know why Mr Boy was blocked. It could easily have been a random one. I am not defending him, i am just saying that it seems more likely that by convicting Mr Leg, we are more likely to kill scum. Or, we could convict both with the new rules. I'm going to go ahead and vote Horace Leg/Legonator as i do not believe that Ron would gain anything if this is a false conviction. If this can be either more sufficiently proved or disproved, i am willing to retract or continue support of this vote. Mr Leg, if you can show that there was maybe a third who knew of the ability, that would help.
  25. Expensive? While the price tag is high, you get a lot of brick for your buck. Excluding the Hogwarts Express, most of these sets have about a 9 or 10 brick per dollar range, plus incredible figures! For me, it seems to be the entire concept that draws me in. The sets, movies, and books are all impressive!
