  1. I spotted the Market Street at Toyworld in Fremantle today for $130 Also spotted at the Toyworld in Mandurah, price unknown
  2. Only the BBQ stand and the pirates are new, the rest are from last year.
  3. I have built a 4-6-0 Steam Locomotive (modeled off the one in Back To The Future 3, no, not the time machine one, the regular one) and I want advice on how to build the cow catcher for the front. I am using the small train wheels (the really tiny ones) for the front truck and the Emerald Night wheels (all 6 of them) for the driving wheels The rest of the loco is good, just the cow catcher I am not happy with. Any advice (including links to pictures of other peoples cowcatchers) will be appreciated
  4. What sets did you have the option to purchase (new or second hand) but didn't and now regret not doing so? For me: UCS Lunar Module from Shop @ Home (I got all the other NASA sets from that line, just not that one :( ) Ice Station Odyssey, I had the option to purchase this set second hand from a local source not once but TWICE and didn't do it either time. Thankfully I was recently able to acquire all the needed parts from Bricklink and other sources and assemble the set (although I wish I had a genuine set of instructions instead of the ones I printed out from Peeron that used up most of the ink on my Cannon ink-jet printer) 8462 blue tow truck (I had the option to purchase this from TRU when they clearanced it out and I stupidly didn't get it)

    City '09?

Given that TLG seems to consider trains as part of Town/City (the RC train sets say "city" on the box), maybe the Emerald Night IS our exclusive set for this year...
  6. If I purchase the new power functions rechargeable battery recharger (to recharge the battery box) set 8887 with "ship to" country set to Australia, what voltage and plug would I get? (as in which countries power system would it be for). Is there any way to get an Australian power supply that would be compatible with the new rechargeable battery box? (or would I need to buy some kind of adapter to convert from whatever plug is on the end to and Australian plug?) Posting here because its something that one of the Ambassadors will have to ask the Shop @ Home team about. (especially since the product in question has not yet shipped)
  7. I cant recommend specific models in your price range (plus I don't know whats available in your area) but I CAN recommend you buy a Canon. I bought a Canon (the IXUS 80) and its GREAT for taking LEGO shots. Plus others in the family own Canon kit (one family member has a large amount of Canon SLR stuff) and swear by it.
  8. For me, it was the classic Black Seas Barracuda which I got as a reward for learning to ride my bike. That set is long gone. But I did pick up the reissue BSB when it hit the local TRU and promptly swapped the non firing cannons for firing cannons as part of a purchase of some assorted parts from a local second hand toy shop. One of these days I will turn the BSB (or the hulls, sails, masts etc at least) into a ship for my space pirate Captain Blackhole. (to be called the Black Star Barracuda)
  9. Thanks for the pics. After seeing these, I definitely wont be buying this one.
  10. I am definatly going to buy this set. Worth it for the trans-smoke windscreens and doors and stuff alone IMO, not to mention the bicycle (if only it was a color other than red :( ), the bicycle/skate helmets, the pizza oven, the other window pieces and more. I wish the bus was another color too (red maybe or grey), the only place you generally see yellow buses is American style school buses.
  11. The construction pack sounds nice especially if they bring back that torso from the one set, the "foreman" with the necktie. Also, a second "general" pack (i.e. sequel to 8401) would be nice. Could include a fire fighter with a fire extinguisher and breathing tanks/mask, a postman on a bicycle with a mailbox and letters (and use that neck basket thing for the postman bag, that or the Indiana Jones bag), a kid with the small legs, a female (could be the kids mother), a dark bley garbage bin, some more road signs (stop sign?) and maybe a couple of fences.
  12. I don't own any of the consoles one needs to play this but I DO like it. Especially if LEGO releases some sets to go with it.
  13. I want sheep (in black and white and any other colors sheep come in) including rams with horns. Then I can finally build a MOC of a sheering shed.

    Polybags

Another thing with boxes is that its harder to steal parts from boxes (polybags can just have the corner ripped open and parts taken out)
  15. What parts (that Lego are using in current sets) do you wish were on PaB online? My wishes: fireman torso scuba dive tank this piece http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/52031 in colors to match the wheel arches that are already on there Large train wheels from 10194 emerald night More window glass in trans-light-blue (1 x 4 x 6, 1 x 4 x 6 door, 1 x 2 x 2) 1 x 6 x 5 panel in trans-colors (i.e. trans-light-blue) More window glass in trans-smoke (1 x 4 x 6, 1 x 4 x 6 door) new trans-smoke 1 x 6 x 3 windscreen/panel (from the new bus set) more food (e.g. banana, pizza, ice-creams, chicken leg) to go with the food already there more tools (e.g. shovel, pick axe, dynamite) Anyone else got any suggestions of parts currently in use that would be good to see on PaB?

    City '09?

Seeing those HQ pictures of the bus set has sealed it for me. I am DEFIANTLY buying one. Now if only TLG would put the new 1 x 6 x 3 windscreen/window/panel on PaB (oh and make it in Trans-Light-Blue and Trans-Clear too please) along with the 1 x 4 x 6 doors in both Smoke and Trans-Light-Blue (the trans-clear is already on PaB) I would be happy :)
  17. My wishlist: Ghostbusters. Minifig ecto-1, Ghostbuster figs, Slimer, Stay-Puft, Firehouse, Art gallery with stickers for the art, moving Statue of liberty. Although all those ghosts would be expensive to make. Back To The Future. Not just the DeLorien but the settings. The wild west saloon. Doc and the bad guy in the gunfight (with the revolver piece). The casino from the second movie. The school dance (Lego Saxophone anyone?) Oh and they HAVE to make the steam train from the third movie (not the western one, the time machine one with all the gizmos and stuff) More world buildings to go with the statue of liberty, Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, Sears Tower etc. How about a Sydney Opera House (would have made a great set to go along with the anniversary of its construction). Or the Petronas Towers. Or the Sphinx. Or the pyramids (think of all those tan slope bricks). Or the Colosseum in Rome. Or something like the forbidden city in china. Or Big Ben in London. Or the Tower Of London As for more cars, forget the Mustang, Corvette all the way (GM > Ford). Although a Corvette might be too close to the Ferrari sets.
  18. There is a town hall in the Town Plan set. I personally like the transit center more than the other 2 (Town Plan had the fountain thing plus I dont like trucks that much although a petrol tanker to fit the recent petrol station would be nice)
  19. Maybe the answer is for a bunch of people in one area (that doesn't have Shop @ Home) to get together and then find someone in a nearby country that DOES have Shop @ Home or a LEGO store (for Greece, that might be someone in Germany). Then the people who want to buy from Shop @ Home but cant will pay the person in the country that has Shop @ home who will buy the products and then ship those products to someone in the group in the country without Shop @ Home who can then distribute it to the rest of the group. With a large order (where you save on postage vs a bunch of smaller orders), the costs of having someone in, say, Germany acquire the sets (either from Shop @ Home or from a German LEGO store) and ship them to, say, Greece, cant be much higher than the likely costs would have been if the same stuff was bought off a Shop @ Home Greece had it existed. Especially if the items are purchased from a LEGO store and not from Shop @ home (since you dont need to pay for shipping from the LEGO warehouse to the guy in Germany) Of course, there may be reasons why some of the people posting in this thread complaining about lack of access to Shop @ Home havent already considered this option (or have considered it and rejected it)
  20. Best (of the sets I actually own) is definatly the Town Plan. Green Grocer would qualify but I dont own that. Worst, no idea but probably Bionicle or Mars Mission or somehing.
  21. Was it just the Space Skulls or has the Star Justice been seen in a retail shop also? Strange that I havent seen the set in any toy world in perth at all (and I go there regularly)
  22. I havent seen them either. In any case I can always order the ones I want (canon battle mostly) from Shop @ Home at the same time as my Emerald Night.
  23. I suspect a lot of these sets that are appearing are sets that have been taken (possibly stolen) from LEGO set packaging plants in Czechoslovakia To anyone who has this set, if you could get some good close up pictures of the bus, that would be good. Also, pictures/details of whatever piece is being used for the windscreen on the bus and whatever piece is being used for the glass thing on the bus stop, that would be great.
  24. I run AdBlock and didnt see anything nasty on the site. My guess is that either the site concerned is running ads with malware or (more likely) someone has hacked the ad company to serve the malware without the knowledge of the ad company.
  25. I know of at least 3 Toyworlds here in Perth that opened in the last year or so, one at Balcatta, one at Cockburn Central and one new one that just opened up in Canning Vale (the last one is only small and not worth going to through) Since when did Toyworld carry the Space Skulls? I go there regularly and have NEVER seen ANY Toyworld that had the Space Skulls in stock (given the way LEGO lists it as a "factory" set like the market street, star justice and custom car garage, I would doubt LEGO would even sell it outside of S&H and LEGO stores.
