Spotted both the Drawbridge and the Kings Carriage at the Toyworld store in Armadale. Same $70 price on the Drawbridge. Still hoping the City, Indy, Pirates or Classic Starwars product appears soon (City especially) -

Damn, all the Toyworld stores in WA that are "participating stores" are also country stores. None of them are reachable for me :( I will be going to some local Toyworld stores (and elsewhere) to look for new sets though including the castle. -
Well there are 3 ways I can see them going: Minifigs (ala Space Police 3) which would be GOOD Action Figure type things (ala Galidor) which would be garbage Larger size figs (e.g. 4juniors size or something) which may or may not be ok. Importantly they need to produce more than just figures of aliens and stuff and need to produce vehicles and buildings and stuff (I haven't watched enough of the show to know what else could be made beyond that car)

What do you want to see in the next round of the new line?
jonwil replied to martinsuper's topic in LEGO Pirates
They have 5-packs for Castle (skeletons, knights, trolls) so I think they should do the same for Pirates. Soldiers would include 4 normal guys (with weapons) and one admiral or whatever he is. Pirates would include one captain and 4 normal pirates (again with weapons) Or even just 4 figs in each. -

It wouldn't surprise me if about $50 of that $200 for for the Endor set is for all the figs (minifigs are aparently the most expensive parts of sets) Also, dont assume anything about the prices in the shops, knowing previous form, we will likely see some new stock on the shelves soon just before the sales that hit the mid-year school holidays (they likely arent putting the new stuff out yet since they dont want to sell it all before the sales start) -
I hope that they make the windscreen piece in clear (and that they make both colors available on Pick A Brick) In any case I will be buying this set as soon as the toy stores here in Australia finally decide to release it (stupid stores always releasing things long after the rest of the world dammit :( )

btw if you want to get an idea of prices for these, set country to USA (where they are available) and you can see the USD prices. From there you can follow the usual formulas LEGO seem to use for USD to AUD to come up with some prices. -

What figure represents the castle line?
jonwil replied to Tom Bricks's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I would say that either a yellow castle fig or one of the ones with the breastplate armor torso (possibly one of the figs that wears the armor piece) would be best. -

It wouldn't surprise me if there is new stock sitting in warehouses, stock rooms etc with stickers marked "not to be sold until <date>" (where <date> is after all these current sales finish) -
If you were going to design the #4 collection, what figs would YOU include? Rules: (to match the constraints the TLG guys would be working with for this) 1.All parts needed must be current or recently used (i.e. things TLG would still be able to produce) 2.Must have a mix of themes and a mix of years 3.List the figs and what year they first appeared in 4.Figs (torsos specifically) already found in the first 3 sets are not allowed 5.No figs from licensed themes like Star Wars, Ferrari, Shell, Spiderman etc (since TLG would not be allowed to use those per the terms of the license) 6.Have 5 figs, same as the other collections 7.No stickers, no plain torsos My idea: 1.http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=but029 Black shirt, first released 1982 (an example of one of the few figs found in the short-lived Boat theme) 2.http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=cas319 Forestman Female, first released 1990 (good way to add a female into the set, plus this fig doesn't have the long-out-of-production Forestman hat) 3.http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=sp041 Spyrius Droid, first released 1994 4.http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=pi014 Green Imperial Armada, first released 1996 5.http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=stu002 Studios Director, first released 2000 What are your ideas?

Best thing to happen in ohio in a while!
jonwil replied to MrTools's topic in General LEGO Discussion
How about opening one in Australia please. Open one in Sydney or Melbourne and have a mail order service Australia wide. Sell all the Shop @ Home exclusives (at the same price as Shop @ Home) and it will be a big win for all those people who want those sets without the huge shipping costs and the huge wait. Even better, ship random boxes of whatever parts TLG has too much of and put them in the LEGO store for people to buy in the same way you buy bulk candy. -
BTW, this isn't all the classic space guys. There is still the blue one that has yet to appear in these fig packs. (the blue one came out in 84) Not really liking these sets, why have they given us so many classic spacemen instead of other figs (e.g. other newer space figs like Blacktron or Space Police or Ice Planet) I expect to see the price of black falcons, chefs, cavalry leaders and yellow classic space figs fall a bit as pirate fans buy multiples of this set to get the blue coats and sell the rest of the figs. Although that may be balanced out by castle fans buying it for the Black Falcon and western fans buying it for the cavalry (I cant see anyone buying multiples for the chef :)

Of the 4 DJs stores in Perth, one doesn't sell toys, one is closed for remodeling (and didn't sell toys anyway) and the other 2 (including the main city one) have had so little LEGO lately that its almost not worth going into. -
New sets available on LEGO.com!
jonwil replied to Luke McAwesome's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Damn, US only, I so want the new City stuff :( -
Now this is a NICE set. I SO want this. As for the comment about the Jesters hat being overused, I dont agree with that (mostly because I own zero of them). Its only been used in a handful of sets (nowhere near as many as the bionicle eye piece)
-
Interesting that they used Space Police 1 yet they use Blacktron 2 Do we know what game pieces went with the board? Minifigs from the 3 themes?
-
I like the house and will probably get it. Wont be buying the car carrier, dragon or fire truck (dont build with red much plus I got the green dragon from a while back)
-
I think the best way to go is to build similar to how many trains (e.g. Metroliner, 4561) build the links between cars only instead of train couplers, use some hinges like this http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/3640 http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/3639 or some suitable technic

I am thinking about building an Articulated bus model, anyone got any ideas on how to build the articulated bit so that it looks good and so that it actually articulates? More specifically, the bus model I would be trying to build would be a Mercedes Benz O305G
