I think by far the worst aspect of Mars Mission was the crappy trans-green aliens. I cant find fault with any of the Alien Conquest sets although I do agree the alien mothership wasn't all that imposing.

The most likely answer is that this is simply a new version of the tool wheel element (with new and updated tool designs) that is going to appear in future sets (and possibly future batches of existing sets) similar to how they recently re-designed the life jacket element and how they replaced this propellor http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4617 in certain sets with this one http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92842 (the yellow seaplane was one set that had the propellor replacement)

Given that the Power Functions motor and the old 9V motor are the same size, I see no reason you couldn't fit a 9V motor to this set.

WOW. Just WOW. I would have to rank this as one of the greatest train sets of all time, better than any passenger train LEGO have produced to date with the possible exception of the Emerald Night and maybe the Santa Fe Super Chief. After seeing this, any thoughts I had of spending some of my limited LEGO budget on buying the Town Hall have vanished, this is SO much cooler :) Loving the minifigs. The bottle piece in trans-green is awesome, as is the head on the guy with the green jumper (I cant put my finger on who but the head makes me think of a famous geek who's face I can remember but not the name or why they are famous). Hopefully the new head appears in a few smaller sets so I can pick up a couple :) Is the hair on the female with the blue shirt a new piece?

Not bad for a purist interpretation of the characters.

Given that all of the "other related items" links all point to clocks that look pretty much identical except with different images, I don't think this is legit (in the sense that whoever made the clock doesn't have permission from LEGO to use their artwork)

I suspect that the 20% off LEGO excluding xyz and the 20% off stuff not already discounted have different start and finish dates. Finally found some Series 8 at the Toys R Us in Morley. Looking good (except for the fact that the torso for one of my DJs seems to have vanished between buying it and putting everything together :( ) Not the end of the world (as I did buy 2 DJs and the torso is not as useful in multiples as I thought it would be)

WOW that is amazing. The B-52 is one of my favorite aircraft.

I cant see LEGO putting more than maybe 2 or 3 different Iron Man figs (any suit of armor would have to be essentially a complete minifig) in one set. I doubt they would do a "armory" with 6 or 7 different armors like everyone wants.

If you want an example of rare when it comes to Maresk Blue parts some of the rarest are the 1 x 3 x 1 car doors, the 1 x 3 x 2 doors with stickers and the rare-as-hens-teeth baseball cap.

For a set this old that was only available in Canada? I doubt LEGO has information on its contents. Heck, I doubt LEGO has information on the contents of even more recent sets.

If its in Iron Man 3 that means LEGO has the rights to it (anything Fox has the rights to Marvel isn't allowed to use in its own films)

If Toys R Us has no stock, I doubt anyone will be willing to price match. Definitely this years with the Darth Santa. As for it being too early, the same David Jones had their xmas section up and going (with MYER in the process of setting theirs up)

As a space fan, the 1526 Space set has to be up there on the prototype wishlist. If I wasnt broke (thanks to an expensive repair of my mobile phone) and if there was a way for me to buy it that didn't involve PayPal (which I refuse to use due to previous bad experiences) I would very much buy a copy of the wonderful history guide (which no doubt contains a mention of the 1526 and probably other space part and set rarities :)

David Jones has the Star Wars advent calendar. MYER has Big Ben, Farnsworth house and the korean thing. Also dino and the dark green old-type airplane. Also plenty of the Friends riding camp, stables and horse trailer. 5his is Perth cbd btw.

Hopefully by some miracle they have Series 8 in stock (its about the only 2012 set I am still waiting for, that and any Hobbit sets that show up :)

Got a report from another forum that the big technic sets (including the 4x4 crawler with the new power functions bits) are in stock at TRU.

If I wasn't buying LEGO, I would probably put money towards my DVD collection and maybe towards expanding my library of sci-fi books.
