  1. Read Post #4253. I tell how I get the stock and then get it discounted. Ensures you don't miss out n the special price!
  2. May I suggest goto a shop put it on layby at full price, you get 8 weeks to pay it off. You don't actually need to make a payment at all during those 8 weeks. When a sale comes up 20% off or discounted HP set prices, go into the store to the layby counter and ask for a price match on your layby. You will need to pay the layby out in full, but then you goto the front desk and they refund to the discounted price. That way if the sale comes along and all the big HP sets are gone when you arrive, you go off to Layby and you get it at that price. If there is not a sale in that 8 weeks leave it another 2 weeks because really you get 10 weeks but they won't tell you that. If still no sale either pay full price or get your deposit back and forfeit the $2.50 layby fee. I got the new Kingdom stuff this way and some trains. PS: I don't know if MYER do this so please ask there first but Big W and Westfarmers stores do!
  3. I went to DJs today, 20% full priced Lego, 30% a range of Lego, there was no LEGO on the table that was 30%. They have some train track that was marked $40 but scanned at $13.69 so grabbed some of that. No one there semmed to have any idea at all, maybe I should scan a few other sets too. No big sets there though, I didn;t see the City crane or I may have bought that!
  4. I finished a set of S1 and got a couple of sets of S2 plus what I thought were a couple of doubles, but ended up being almost another set of S2 lol. There were about 6 boxes of S1 and 7 of S2 at my local Target. They had them at the sound bar, because apparently they have been going missing when they were left on the shelf. They have been $3.75 which is a fair bit more than TRU $2.99 but TRU haven't had S2 as yet!
  5. That's correct the loyalty card. It seems it makes a difference store to store and sales assistant. They manually put in the discounts. I didn't try for a already discounted item but the assistant took 20% off then took 10% off for the full priced set. I am sure had I tried a discounted set this assistant would of taken off 20% then 10% off the discounted price but I saw it said no further discounts off already reduced items so i didnt even try. Wish I did another passenger train for around $120 would of been great. Not much there I don't already have.
  6. Yep 10% off on top of the other 20% off with a myer one card. My daughter wanted the sunshine home so got that and horse jumping for her at $115.20. Had every thing else I saw there though so didn't get any more.
  7. Our paper doesnt show LEGo at 20% off, what part of the country are you in? I am NSw near Sydney reading the Sydney Moring Herald Help!!! Ahh there it is at bottom inthe middle
  8. The 7947 was at Target reduced to $61 last week so a bit late now sorry. It's normal price at Target was $90
  9. The passenger train at Myer works out to $152.10 if you show your Myer one card until Sunday. The only place I have seen kingdoms was target with 20% off. Kingdoms dragon knights tower if by this you mean the new kings castle I saw this at target $170 and big w and kmart $149 and myer but I didn't look at price there. If your talking about another set please tell us more as I am new here back from the dark years and I wasn't going to collect the kingdom series but now I bought the collection at target they looked so cool and that seems to be all that was in the 2010 catalogue.
  10. It came as a flyer in the Daily Telegraph, 4 day sale BigW starting Thursday, it is the only lego set on the flyer. I got mine today at that price though, and our local store had at least 30 of them. The Woody roundup had the shelf price at $88 but scanned at $50, and Buzz and Zurg were marked normal on shelf but scanned less.
  11. Big W had the Buzz Spaceship for $25 from tomorrow for 4 days, also I scanned the Woody set usually $88 down too $50, the other TOy Story 1,2 set all reduced also. Toy story 3 set all full price. No luck at our Target for series 2 minifigs but they did have about 3 boxes of Series 1 still. Sadly 20% off ends today. I was able to get Target to take 20% off my Lego layby which was good as that was trains and kingdom sets. These are the kingdom sets I was going to buy until I saw the KING. Hope the Toy story Lego wasnt at Big W I just mentioned. What is a good idea I think is to Layby. Then if it comes on sale go into the store and they will match the special on your layby. I did it with the trains at target when they first arrived, then when the past week 20% off sale I went in and they matched the prices, They did it with Kingdom sets too that I only laybyed 2 days before the sale, they only had 3 Castles when I got mine, when I went back during the sale there were none left. At least I got mine.
  12. The $49.99 is for the yellow truck not the toysrus truck. Same happened to me there was no shelf sticker and I got mine at $49.99 instead of $59.99 I am not sure if they will figure that one out too soon. In the USA tru are having buy 1 get 1 50% off sale. Maybe we will get that too. Just getting back into Lego costs a fortune lol
  13. Called my local Target today, just because I could! Well I wanted to see if there was any news about series 2 minifigs, but no. However they did have 6 new boxes of series 1, when I got there 3 were still sealed and only about 10 gone out of the opened boxes. I got a couple I needed to fulfil a sealed set, plus a couple of extras. They also had all the trains in, only 1 Cargo train though. There was lots of SW but I dont collect then so couldn't tell you if they were rare. Every thing was full price

  17. Thank you for the welcomes. I have been seaching the Bricklink store for a few things, seems beter than ebay. Looking at these Hard to find items, mm they look good, but in OZ they are very expensive, and so is postage from US or Europe. May need to make some friends here to help me out!! Thanks BrettBrick
  18. HI BrickTango And a welcome to you also. I live near Wollongong NSW, Where are you located? I will be in Canberra for Brickexpo, hope to meet some fellow collectors, builders there. I see you got 3 of the modular buildings recently, which ones did you get? Cheers Brettbrick
  19. Hi My name is Brett and like most of you I love Lego. Getting back into it now I have a daughter, but really it is for me! I have many of my original 1975+ kits, instructions and most parts. I started building them up and my daughter actually prefers these to the new ones. I am a City collector, including trains, planes and automobiles. I am just looking to purchase my first Modular building ( Fire Station ), these all look fantastic. We do have a city layout, no raods though as they get in my daughters way. I look forward to the following years of Adult Lego, and being part of this lego forum. We are off the Canberra this weekend for BrickExpo, so can't wait to really get the bug.
  20. Hi Everyone My first post. But I will get to introductions later. I had a visit to Kmart they had lots of games. I got Creationary! They had Robo Champ, Race 3000, Minotaurus and Pyramid as well. I didnt see any marked down or older Lego there at all. Big W had the Lego Truck $43.87 I dont collect Star Wars but I did see at least 2 of the new sets 8093 and 8089. Target had nothing, last day of the sale, perhaps a restock coming soon. I didn't see any minifigs at all, or the impulse sets
