The future of this theme was pretty up in the air but I’m happy to see it continue with 6 new sets, whatever capacity that may be (LEGO ship exclusive or whatnot). This consistently pumps out decent to great builds with amazingly detailed mini fires and bigfigs, so I’m happy to see it continue.

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
DuckBricks replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
To be honest, I know a lot of people are disappointed with the very out there set names, but if it means we get a movie accurate Helmetless Thanos, Iron Man with gauntlet, or any other missing minifigures in the assorted Avengers-themed trucks, cars, mechs, and whatnot, I’m all in. It’s a good compromise for selling to kids (who would probably prefer an iron man mech, for example, over a battle scene playset) but giving adult fans great figures to collect (as seen in the helicopter drop). And with the promise of a more adult-oriented Marvel set, I’m super excited to see what comes next -
Right, posted this in the 2019 thread but it probably belongs here.. Part of me is a little disappointed Legacy seems to be sticking to previously released sets, which means that there’s little to no chance we get sets based on stuff in the show that never made it into a set, namely an Overlord Dragon, Borg Tower, Nindroid Spaceship, the list goes on. A new golden mech should be good (although I was already a fan of the first so I’m excited to see how they improve it) and I’m curious to see what other sets they’ll improve. I’m also really happy that Ninjago is popular enough they can run a Legacy wave alongside a regular TV wave. Regarding the names and general theme of the sets (Cyber Dragon, Gamers Market, Arcade Pod), I wonder if this means we’ll see the Digiverse resurface...

Cleaned out the vibrant coral - what a pleasant surprise to see such a new color! There was only a small amount left (not even enough to fill a small cup) so I'm guessing it's quite popular.

Talked to a Lego Store Manager and they said SDCC exclusives will be coming to this new platform as rewards... here's hoping they don't immediately disappear like the Bat-Pod...
-
They just launched a new VIP Program that allows you to exchange points for some really cool rewards (The BatPod, an exclusive raffle gift from 2013, was available to be exchanged for points but sold out by now), and a Lego Store Manager mentioned that SDCC items would be appearing on the rewards portal in the coming months. I highly, highly doubt this includes figures (It's probably just the Star Wars Sith Trooper bust, and if we're really lucky, the Captain Marvel and the Asis set) but I'm really hoping there's a chance this becomes available.
-
Apparently the new VIP program can be used to exchange points for SDCC items - I really hope this also applies to the figures (but highly doubt it) but al least there’s hope, and the fact that it’s not a more major character like Steve, Nancy, or Jonathan makes me hope that we will get another set down the line...

Spoke to a LEGO store employee and he said that VIP points will be able to be used for SDCC exclusives later this month - fingers crossed the Captain Marvel set becomes available and doesn’t sell out in a few minutes like the Bat Pod... -
I was also curious about this -- wasn't sure if it was just the lighting, but the guns and apollo studs seemed a different shade of gold than normal. Weird how it isn't on Bricklink yet...

AFOL designer program

Just curious when these will start shipping: I pre-ordered mine months ago but still haven't received it. Is anyone else having the same issue? -
How are the prices for Overwatch sets so good with such high quality builds and an abundance of new molds too? Fingers crossed this theme continues...

In December, isn’t the entire wave usually available a tad early though? I’ve never experienced a single set being made available early, on purpose

Whoah! What a surprise - I certainly was not expecting any more Endgame sets, and when I first saw it I did a double take and thought Nexo Knights was making a resurgence. Despite the weird helicopter build, there’s so much to love about this set — the printed red gauntlet, Hulk and Rescue — I only wish the helicopter was a Wakandan ship, which I think they could have pulled off one of the Dragonfly ships at this scale. And even though Black Widow makes no sense in context (I’m guessing LEGO designers were not informed of her death), I really wish she had her new BW suit used in the movie, not just the QR suit again. -

I've been watching them on the Cartoon Network app, which posted the first 8 episodes, but would love to see your link as the CN ones play with ads and are DRM protected which is a tad annoying.- 4,591 replies

I saw that - how odd; I've never experienced Lego trying this strategy of releasing some small sets early ahead of the rest in the wave. Could it be that the smaller sets tend to be overshadowed and they wanted to give people a further incentive to buy them to be the first?

The July calendar for US shows Cole’s Dirt Bike, which oddly enough seems to be the only S11 set available earlier than August

I was really hoping they would brand them as Ninjago modulars and move away from the Ninjago Movie branding, but it looks like that's not the case. The TV show recently switched animation companies and moved away from the hyper-detailed, complex and vibrant Ninjago Movie-esque city, so I'm not sure what the odds are of getting something like that again, which is really unfortunate as those are some of my favorite Ninjago sets ever.

A good several episodes have been released so far in Ukrainian (?) and the 11-minute format is... interesting, to say the least. It allowed for some really exploratory and unorthodox episodes, like some As far as animation goes, the switch from WilFilm to DHX Media in some ways is an improvement over SoG/Hunted/MotO and in others is a huge downgrade. One of my favorite things about the Oni Trilogy was the hyper-detailed, complex, vibrant city that felt very much alive and almost a character in it of itself. Here, city rendering seems to have been massively downgraded in favor of more dynamic motion during fights and some really cool fire/particle effects. Elemental Powers look much cooler and better for some characters (Lightning, Green Power) but I much preferred the look of Kai's fire and Nya's water with WilFilm. Fight sequences are improves, which is great - a standout is the Samurai X fight sequence which looks really dynamic and much better than its ever looked with WilFim. So there are tradeoffs here and there... I just miss the old city, though :(.- 4,591 replies

I know absolutely nothing about the Overwatch game or characters but loved the builds and minifigure design so much I bought almost all the sets on day one. I would hate to see it go after just two waves (the second of which apparently having only two sets) - it's almost like a spiritual successor to Exo-Force by being a theme with mainly mech builds and other landscape/vehicles here and there.
-
Oh wow, guess I got lucky by impulse buying the lot on day 1, Although I reckon the hammer could have done much more damage than the flail; that thing had some solid heft to it and could be swung by reckless children to great effect...

Jurassic World 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
DuckBricks replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well... this is a surprise, to be sure. I feel almost that if the Visitor Center wasn't hyped up and rumored heavily, I would have appreciated this set more. It's a really cool build and something entirely unique from not just the theme but from Lego in general, and I will be definitely getting it on day one, but I can't help but imagine what could have been. Regardless, it seems that Lego is invested in this theme and willing to experiment with it, which is always good. -
It was a pleasant surprise to see these at my local discovery center (US-PA) which had all three — wish they made one for the Nunchuks of Lightning (I cant imagine why they didn’t as the LEGO ninjago movie had life size flails) but they’re great

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread

So the first four episodes have been released, albeit not in English, and the animation style is certainly... different. At some points it looks really great, as the parts now stretch during fight sequences which makes it look a lot more fluid, but the city and landscape shots are a lot less vibrant and lifelike than they were in SoG and Hunted. It’s really interesting seeing how random questions Tommy Andreasen asked a few months ago are really apparent here (“do you guys still want the previously on recaps,” “do people like Zane’s visions and do they make sense in canon?”) and how people’s responses to his questions influenced the look and feel of the season.- 4,591 replies

I think technically LEGO doesn’t use the antenna holders without antenna in them and the neon green blaster in between the four studs is illegal (but creates a really cool look!) But besides this, I am really impressed with the build and it looks amazing. Good luck!
