With Disney Infinity discontinued, this opens the door for Star Wars and Marvel to show up on Lego Dimensions.

My main criticism of the first wave was the lack of vehicles the Nexo Knights had. It looks like the second wave solve this issue but giving Macy, Aaron and Axl their own vehicles.
-
I checked my EB Store, they have Dr. Who in the back room, but they cannot sell any until tomorrow!
-
In contrast to Ninjago, the lack of vehicles for the heroes seems to be a flaw with the Nexo Knights series. Having the robot horses and hover boards are not enough.

The sets are a mixed bag for me. I am not too fond of the blue and grey colour scheme. Lego seems to be giving each Knights their own set. I may get Macy and the King's mech looks interesting. For futuresets, I want to see Lego draw from the Warhammer 40,000 universe with Dreadnoughts.

It looks like Lego has combined medieval setting with a bit of technology for Nexo Knights. It reminds me a bit of Ninjago, were Ninjas were combined with modern technology. I liked Ninjago, I didn't care much for Chima, but Nexo Knights have caught my attention. Based on the pics so far, I hope Lego is releasing smaller sets. With the personality based into each Nexo Knights character, this is screaming for the TV series.

It looks like Lego Dimension is a success as it is already outselling Disney Infinity 3.0 and Skylanders Superchargers in the UK.

Here are my thoughts on Lego Dimensions: Unlike other toys-to-life games (*cough*Nintendo*cough), the stores seem to be well stocked with Lego Dimension sets. I visited a EB Game store, and a whole shelf was devoted to Lego Dimensions. There is a video demo setup showing off the sets. The starter base and packaging are smaller than I thought it would be. I picked up Portal 2, Cyborg, Nya, Zane and Benny. I didn't get the starter set as my funds are already stretched. (I may get the starter set later). This is cheatest way to get Cyborg and Benny - the only way to get them before was from other expensive Lego sets. The Lego instructions only shows how to put together the minifig. The Lego dimension website have all the instructions for all the packs. The minifig character bases are decorated, while the vehicle bases are not. From the looks of it the .In theory, you can swap out the vehicle bases with other sets. The Portal gun is made out of soft rubber - I found it was difficult to put the gun in Chell's hand.

So does it mean if you have multiple Batmen in the game they will all proclaim they are Batman!?

All this time I was thinking about the Mystery Machine. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- My concern is whether or not Lego have enough supply ready for the September 2015 release. I do not want Lego Dimension end up like Nintendo Amiibos where there is shortage of popular figures. The only ones who sells the figures are scalpers.

Does anybody know if you can put duplicate minifigures or vehicles in the game? Can we have two Doctor Whos and three Batmobiles?

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
rzetlin replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I find that the broadcast timing of this season Ninjago is off because none of the ghost-theme sets have been released in North America yet. Now that this season has ended, I will predict:- 4,591 replies

The Lego Minifigure Online has been officially released today on various platforms. If you have a PC/Mac you can purchase the game directly from the Lego website (Credit Card/Pay Pal). I don't understand why this game is not offered through Steam, as the other Lego games are offered there. I have two Android tablets and Google Play tells me none of my devices are compatible. What Android devices will work with Lego Minifigure Online? Update:

Does anybody know if Lego Fusion will work with bricks that are not part of the set?

The Lego Simpsons mini-figures have arrived in Canada at Chapters/Indigo and Toysrus. I was able to pick up two bags. I ended up getting father and son Chief Wiggum and Ralph. I noticed the Simpsons heads are looser than the normal Lego heads. The Simpsons mini-figures seem to be very popular as I seen kids and teenagers buying them. This is a positive sign as Lego may consider releasing other mini-figure licensed lines. At this rate, I see inventory running out by the end of the Summer. I do not recommend waiting, get them now if you want to complete your Lego Simpsons collection.

I am a little disappointed the set cost $300 and I have to use stickers on the Sandcrawler. I prefer printed bricks.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
rzetlin replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
If you live in Canada you get use to these high prices. The sets confirm that Karai and Vern are in the movie. Karai Karai The movie sets are disappointing. Other than Karai, the mini-figures are on the ugly side. - Ralph's mask looks like a toupee on him. - April does not look good with the cheek bones. - Vern looks too generic. Where is Donatello in the sets? The $30+ sets are on high side. I like I will stick with the CGI cartoon sets. -
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
rzetlin replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
My reactions to the trailer: The turtles are so ugly! Why do the Turtles have human noses and lips? The 1990 TMNT movie turtles looked better than this. Did the turtles take steroids? They look huge football players. The turtles are known to be short in the 5 foot range and slim since they supposed to be Ninjas. In this movie the Turtles look like lumbering orcs. What happen to the Foot clan? So they are Cobra mercenaries with guns? Shredder is a old white guy now? Feels like a Micheal Bay movie with slo-mo action and explosions everywhere. --------------------------- The origin story seems very different in the cartoons and comics. I am making a wild assumption the story goes like this in the movie. About 15 years ago, Shredder and April's father worked together at TGRI. There is a fall out between Shredder and April's father. There was a lab accident, April's father becomes Splinter and trains the turtles. April's father leaves the April behind where she grows up without a father. 15 years later, the Turtles shows up and face Shredder. -
REVIEW: 71005 LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Simpsons Series
rzetlin replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Licensed
Excellent executive detail review WhiteFang. You have a lot of photos in your review. How did you get such access to Lego to give you the figures so early? The Simpson's popularity have been waning throughout the years so I will not collect the whole set. I may at least pick up one pack to just see how the Simpsons figures are.- 118 replies

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
rzetlin replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I recently picked up the 79118 Karai Bike Escape. At the beginning I was not interested in the Lego TMNT License, but I am having a second look at the line up. The turtle minifig is well designed. The shell piece have excellent mold. It is design such a way the Turtle can sit down without hindrance from the shell. ------------------------------------------------ It is true that Lego plans to stop producing the Nickelodeon sets in favour for the Micheal Bay Movie version? -
Overall I see more positives than negatives with the images Lego released. It would be interesting see how many people will buy the Simpson's minfig at the higher $4.00 price point. Minimum, you have to spend $64 to get all the figures. It is rumored that if the Simpson's run is successful, Lego may release other licensed Lego blind Minifigs.

Buy sets that you like: This sounds obvious, but sometimes you may find yourself buying the set to complete your collection. (E.g. license theme sets). When you buy it you have to ask yourself, would you have fun with it at the end?

Pleygo: Netflix styled Lego Rental?
rzetlin replied to Legononymous's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Pley is a new rental service for Lego where you pay a monthly fee where you get a Lego set delivered to your house. This article have more information on this service. On the site the monthly fee is broken down to: $15/month for a small set $25/month for a medium set $39/month for large set -------------------------------------------------- I wonder if anybody is interested in this type of service? I see some shortcomings with this service. Kids want to own Lego not rent it. People will intentionally steal rare pieces like the minifigs. If people intentionally steal expensive sets would the penalty match the price of the set? The site does not list which sets are available to rent out. How does the company ensure all the pieces are returned? After several rentals how does the company replace the missing pieces? -
Lego Loosing the Ball with Superheroes Sets
rzetlin replied to Tom Jurassic's topic in LEGO Licensed
In my opinion the Lego superhero sets have been okay to lackluster. The minifigs have been the star of these sets, but lego buildings and vehicles have been an after thought. In the 7608 Iron Man vs. The Mandarin set, the deadly armored car look like a golf cart. In the 76017 Captain America vs. Hydra, the tank looks a open-top 4x4 with too many wheels. The superhero sets need more variety of heroes. Enough with releasing multiple Batman and Spiderman sets. Why not release a Green Arrow or Fantastic Four set? I do not like Lego putting the exclusive figures with the expensive sets. The only way to get Black Widow is spend $90 to $100 on the Quinjet. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lego needs to release smaller $15 superhero sets similar to the Lego Star Wars Battle packs. Best superhero set I have seen is the 6858: Catwoman Catcycle City Chase. For $15 dollars you get Batman and Catwoman, a cycle, batwings to fly around and a traffic corner scene. That is a good deal for me. -
The blue translucent piping reminds me of Tron.
