  1. Working fine for me, so I guess it's back up
  2. Very nice, I like the twin-balloon idea. Great use of that wheel part for connecting the curved parts on the bottom, it makes a nice angle.
  3. Heh, so true. I wish I had the parts for top-left, top-right, or bottom-middle.
  4. In the post he says it's from a Bricklink seller in the US. Personally I've never found any clone brands mixed in from Bricklink (or even eBay) though I have only bought a few lots from either.
  5. Very nice spaceships, lots of NPU. I like the giant containers on L'astrolabe. The Lightyear is also nice, good use of that long yellow part (not sure what it's called...) Microscale isn't always tiny, just sub-minifig scale. The Death Star set (not the playset version) is microscale and quite large.
  6. Not sure myself, but it might be a good idea to scan the stickers and save them on a computer, so if the originals do go bad, you can just printout a replacement onto sticker paper (Might be hard to find good sticker paper to use for this though, I haven't seen any that resembles the paper LEGO uses), and that way you have extras you can use for MOCs without worrying about destroying difficult-to-replace originals. This is a result of the white ones being made of paper, which tends to break down over time.
  7. The most expensive part LEGO has made (other than ultra rare 1,000 made-type parts) is probably the black NXT brainpiece. That was over $150 USD from LEGO if I remember correctly, because of all of the electronics (And because they charged more because it was black...). Not sure how much that sells for in the AFOL community, but it's got to be the most expensive part by TLG's prices.
  8. Wow, excellent shaping. This would definitely fit well into the Tron universe.
  9. Often on things that have a lot of interior structure not visible from the outside (generally larger things) I use multicolored parts for the inside, which I put patterns in with references to official themes (Bumblebee stripes for Classic Space, orange/white for Mars Mission, etc) In most of my scifi MOCs, I try to make the designs (Somewhat) realistic, using possible technology (Realistic propulsion systems, magnetic based weapons, etc). Not always though, sometimes I just throw in an antigravity device and that's good enough.
  10. I never bother remembering part numbers (Though I do memorize set numbers occasionally). I just remember all of the parts, and can describe them fairly well (And what category to find the part number if needed on Bricklink)
  11. Looks nice. There really need to be more purple spaceships. The blacktron color scheme is definitely my favorite though.
  12. 1. Male 2. Prefer not to say. (Not terribly old though) 3. 7658 y wing 4. Space 5. Endless design possibilities, and the only major engineering challenge that I get most days.
  13. Fantastic looking sets, based on these I think LOTR is probably going to be my new favorite licensed theme. Great designs, good parts (And some new parts), and great figs (except gollum ).
  14. Saving them up. Eventually I'll probably be able to go to a LEGO store and buy everything free (I only go about twice a year, so I should have plenty of time to save up)
  15. Somebody really should just pick one of these topics and sticky it, in just the last few days I've seen like 3 topics on the subject of "where to buy this part" and "PAB doesn't have this part".
  16. Can't vote on this myself, it's just impossible. There is like a 5 way tie for the best one I think, with most of the rest tied for second. ALl of them are best in some way.
  17. Looks very nice, definitely doesn't look like a first (recent) MOC. Very Blacktron-1 looking. I like the ladder and greebling on the side. The interior looks cool also, even has room for helmets. Also for image editing, you might try Gimp. It's very similar to Photoshop but free.
  18. Also, depending of course on where you live and such, it may be easier to buy them on Bricklink than the LEGO site. The numbers don't change based on parts, and for many parts, it's cheaper. And you can buy parts that are no longer in production, or not available from Pick A Brick.
  19. Nice fighters. I like the color scheme a lot, and the slight assymetry at the front. The car door parts at the back look nice, some sort of maneuveing system.
  20. Ah. While it might be difficult for most kids to get all of them (especially if they get them randomly rather than buying specific ones online), I still don't think there are too many coming out. They look good, often have new parts, and are great for MOCs. It would be better though if TLG stopped with the unmarked packages...
  21. That probably does affect sales of the smaller lines, causing them to end a bit quickly. Unfortunately there isn't any really good solution to this. LEGO almost certainly won't lower prices, if they reduce the number of themes in production then there won't be as many new parts in new colors coming out probably, etc. What do you mean by over-saturation of CMs?
  22. Looks nice. I like the design of the barrel a lot, and the detailing all over looks nice. The way it's shaped, it almost looks like a steampunk pistol from some views.
  23. 4. Dix - 2 24. sdrnet - 1 27. dede_la_fee - 2
  24. Never had a dark age myself. My guess is that there was a lack of peer pressure because I've never had many frends (and those I did mostly were geeks too, and used to such things
  25. I agree. It would be cool though if LEGO released these parts non-assembled so they could be used for other things, that would be great. There have been some really great uses of these parts (particularly hands and arms) in MOCs I've seen. Only reason I haven't done it is because of the stressing (Though if I have a torso that is broken really bad, I might take the hands and arms off and throw away the broken bits, then use the non-broken ones)
