  1. All 3 of my episode builds are up now, with modifications made to "Oh, the Uniform!" and "Shot the Messenger."
  2. I made some modifications to the build; the original is in spoiler tags. MstrOfPppts: to your point concerning the size of the establishment, this is a cutout; though it wasn't at all clear before, I didn't intend that little thing to be the whole establishment. It should be clearer now, but I again didn't create a detailed interior because I lack the parts I would need and wanted to focus attention on the action out front. And as regards your comments on the story (or stories), I agree these first two builds were a little ridiculous. Frankly, I wasn't in a writing mood when I composed them, and I did a sloppy job. I hope I've fixed that now, and I hope the (much more subtle) joke I've inserted in this build is noticed and is more to the general liking.
  3. Made some modifications; the original is in a spoiler if anyone is interested.
  4. Sorry, folks, Gmail has decided that all my email notifications from Eurobricks are spam, so I'm a little out of touch with the situation on the ground. But, I've finally finished a freebuild and my last episode build, and I've got some modifications to my existing episode builds coming when I get back from work in a few hours. For the Empire!
  5. Yup, that's me. Today, I'm not a specialist. I'm a scout. My job is to watch a disused road. Steel Tiger, Fuppylodders, and myself have been placed at the disposal of Officers VeR and An, and we are standing guard on the three main approaches to a ruined site where, An suspects, Boba can be found. Once we found the ruins, I rode my speederbike down the road and hid it in a cornfield. I would need something to conceal the bright blue formal livery of the Scout Service. In the last few months, many of our regular bikes had been damaged or destroyed, so we were having to deploy these seldom-used, formal conveyances. I had had to smash some corn in order to get in, but I wasn't too concerned. After all, rodents would do more damage to this harvest than my bike. My concern was to stay hidden and watch the road. After all, it was in part due to the intelligence I had gathered on Ord Mantell that we were out here, searching these ruins. If anyone would find Boba, it would be VeR and An. I would wait, and watch. Sooner or later, I would be promoted, and someone else would be standing guard while I did the hard work. Until then, I had a job to do.
  6. After the grueling action of the last several weeks, the long stint over Endor was a blessing to the crew of the Avenger. Finally there was time for a little R&R. And finally HR had time to look after shellshocked troopers. Only trouble was, they were a little low on men. So, guess who get picked to lend a hand. Me, of course. VK-318, enlisted psychiatric specialist. Whatever. I'm not entirely sure how much help I was, but this duty stint did do to great things for me. First, it gave me the opportunity to sit down in a comfortable chair. And second, it gave me a lot of time to think about the war. But not as much time as my last patient seems to have had. Officer VeR had plenty to talk about, and thankfully HR doesn't like to bug psychiatric sessions, since doing so tends to be counterproductive. And me? What do I think? Good question. VeR and I, I discovered, have more in common than one might at first suspect. Like him, I detest the cost of this war, both in lives and property lost and suffering caused to all whom it touches. But there, I think, the resemblance ends. While VeR seems to seek escape from the war, I long ago realized that the war would not end unless someone made it end. To make it end would require fighting. I am not a raving fan of the Empire. There can be little doubt that it is heavy-handed, intolerant, and indiscriminate. But it is also efficient, durable, and consistent, and for the galaxy to recover from this war it will need that kind of leadership. While I can respect the democratic ideals espoused by the Rebel Alliance, the Republic they seek to restore was bureaucratic, sluggish, internally divided, and short-sighted. Those traits will never lead to a quick recovery. So I fight for the Empire. And I do, indeed, fight. VeR's inaction, while understandable, in the end will do his cause no good. He must choose a side. And I hope, for the sake of the galaxy, that this talented and, if he so chooses, dangerous man chooses to fight for the Empire. OoC: After wading through several of BEAVeR's philosophical musings, I felt the need to give an answer. I have great respect for BEAVeR's building ability, and while I feel my character would not agree with BEAVeR's approach to the problem of war, this post should in no way be taken as an attack or condemnation. This is intended to be an idle dispute akin to BEAVeR and Goatman461's semi-collaborative build ideas.
  7. Great to see you back again, Jacob Nion! And back in style, too, with that spectacular medical droid.
  8. Oh, shoot. I really liked this design as the main Stormtrooper helmet!
  9. Oh, very well done! The banter between the pilots is very nice as well, it reminds me of the chatter during the Battle of Yavin. As far as the build, I wonder if you might not want to turn the bottom S-foils upside-down, to make the ship more symmetrical. And if you're "Blue" 4, you should probably have some blue on the wings instead of red. That transparent stand is really impressive - I'm somewhat surprised that it actually holds the weight, to be honest. The ground it's sitting on is pretty well done, too: the mixture of trees is just about right and looks sufficiently random. I like the choice of gray for your X-wing instead of the usual white, and I don't believe I've ever seen the thrusters done that way before. Now, how about switching sides?
  10. He means, where are the two of you going (if not wading through the slime). "Y'all" is a contraction unique to the dialect of the American South, but occasionally used in other places familiar with the dialect of said region, and has the same as "you" with very relaxed connotations.
  11. My last build will be on Bothawui. I've got some of it done already, so don't worry. I'll be there on time!
  12. I can't recall seeing that smaller droid in the movies, so I can't be the judge of how well it was done, but I do really like the bigger black one. I think you've just about nailed the size, and the only thing I can recommend would be to make the antenna a little taller if you can.
  13. They're in 7670, as part of the hailfire droid.
  14. I'm not sure I see where this is going. MstrOfPppts, I recommend you launch an investigation into the indoctrination procedures currently in use for TIE pilots. This kind of rant isn't supposed to be happening! Philosophical disagreements aside, this is still an excellent build. The bucket hoist is brilliant. I would question whether you aren't trying to do in your officer, though. You've got him parked almost right underneath it!
  15. Oh, I get it now.
  16. Um ... I think this is in the wrong forum? It's supposed to be in Watto's Junkyard. This is your contest entry, right?
  17. If it were me, I'd wait until I had one build up, maybe two, then add it to indicate that it represents a small promotion for your work. But if I remember correctly, Nom Carver's had one since the beginning. Nom Carver, can you offer an opinion here?
  18. I now own two Galaxy Squad Eradicator Mechs, and I would never sell those. Star Wars sets? H'm. Probably my Midi Imperial Star Destroyer.
  19. Actually, someone already asked him about those helmets. He answered thusly:
  20. Wow. No wonder you haven't done much SoNE in the last week or so. This is definitely a valid excuse. Look at the size of that thing!
  21. Welcome aboard! You can certainly start with a generic avatar and switch to a custom sigfig later. I know at least one person has done that already.
  22. Go ahead and replace the current photos. I would recommend you keep the old ones in a spoiler (if you know how to do that; I still haven't figured it out) or in a post in this thread, though, if for no reason other than to make sure people can figure out what the early comments are talking about.
  23. I like that radar dish mod. Not sure how accurate it is, but it looks pretty good!
  24. I actually hope that they don't start with too much arm printing, though leg printing is okay with me, sort of. The trouble is that it can get hard to build a custom minifigure without overdecorating it. But since there's Bricklink to go to, I honestly am not really worried; Lego can do what it feels works best.
