um... you´re still talkig about the advent calendar set, aren´t you? 40 to 50 bucks sounds REALLY expensive!

They think that the US market has more competition in brick building systems than the European market. That´s the reason more and more rip-off brands pop up in Europe as well. Megablocks is widely available now in Germany, and more and more I see Asian brands showing up on fairs and fleamarkets. On the other hand, this evolution might lead to more competition in Europe as well, so the prices might drop sooner or later. ...rather later, I assume.

Does anybody know what the kanji on the DSS (dreaded sticker sheer) of Sentai Headquarter mean? Especially Sticker #34 I used the search feature, but couldn´t find a clue for my life.

Na los, lass uns gemeinsam heulen... It´s ridiculous that this set is 99 Euros. I really was intending to buy it, although I don´t have ANY other city set so far, but at this price I certainly don´t! Oh, wait. I still have the very first set of my childhood, which for pure coincidence happens to be a garage as well, but that´s not the question here. On the other hand, the Star Justice and Space Skulls have been issued at 99 Euros, too, and some time later dropped to 69 Euros or so. If this is gonna happen with this garage, I might change my oppinion again and buy it.

Sooooo, does LDD get updated again soon with the new parts? I spy with my little eye lots of new parts that might be extremely useful in LDD!

Excellent rendition of that old car! Hats off!

I always enjoy building minifigs in LEGO stores. Last time I had a birthday coupon of 20 Euros to spend, and I bought 12 minifigs for that. A fig is 2 Euros here in Germany, buy 6 and pay only 5. But to be honest, I only bought the figs because they also had the Exo-Force hairpieces in the bin.

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
DJ Force replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Say, when did this ever happen? I didn´t notice any major changes between leaked pics and the actual sets in the last years... -
I thought so, so thanks for confirming!

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
DJ Force replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I´m propably getting the drill once or twice, but I couldn´t care less about the rest. The design is extremely weak. Even the mech is terrible, although TLC did so good with Exo-Force. I don´t understand what was driving them. -
I have 2 of the books and I read them, but to be honest, they are pretty childish. You didn´t miss anything if you didn´t read them. As to your questions raised... I guess Keiken doesn´t fight anymore simply because he´s too old. And I think he´s not only the trainer, but the chosen leader of the Sentai Mountain population. Personally, I don´t see Keiken with the need of a further backstory. As to the other Exo-Force pilots and the 4 star pupils, I couldn´t agree more. They certainly need a lot more backstory. And to be honest: I´m open for input here @Zero: Hopefully you´ll see more pretty soon. Depends on when my BL order arrives. EDIT: Parts arrived, but are stuck at customs. Will have my wife pick them up monday, but since I have to work late on monday and tuesday I will not get to build anything before wednesday. I hate customs and taxes. Ruined my weekend, as I would have been able to build if the parts were sent to me directly.

I know this sounds wicked, but I love the witch! I

Great review of a great set! One question: How does the robot-arm-piece connect to the jetski?

Sadly I misse this one, and now all the pics are gone Any chance you could repost them?

Some thoughts: 6239 Chase for the map 5,99 € Looking allright. Two minifig, a cannon and some nice bricks. Nothing wrong there, price is acceptable. However, I have the feeling I´ve seen that before. It´s nothing new, nothing to rallye about. 6240 Pirate raft 9,99 € Nice parts in nice colors, but it looks a little weak IMHO. I don´t dig the Octopuss at all. Could as well be priced 7.99 since it doesn´t offer too much. 6241 Treasure Island 19,99 € Giant pieces for the base. Are those parts new? Haven´t seen them before, but they look very childish. However, cool set design, I like it! What I don´t like are the action features. I´m sick and tired of all those flickfires, grenade launchers and everything else that´s just for kids without imagination. Kids that need moveable parts to throw bricks at the enemies. (Much more efficient when playing is to take the bricks in your hand and PRETEND to be launching those on the enemies. That way YOU decide where the bomb lands. I never missed in my childhood :pir-skull: ) 6242 Soldiers Fort 49,99 € OVERPRICED! Seriously. That´s a rather small set. Nice to get a bunch of minifigs and accessories, and the set design is beautiful. But the price is just too high IMHO. 6243 Pirateship 79,99 € Can´t say anything to that, as ships never were of any interest to me. Looking good, though. Very high priced, and you could never really play with one ship alone. You needed at least a playset, island, base, whatever, or another high priced ship to battle. Boring, IMHO. 6253 Shipswreck -39,99 € I could´t find a picture of that, but it sounds good. Overall thoughts: I don´t have the feeling to see a brand new line here. It´s more like coming home, which is a really good thing. All sets can be combined with the old sets. However, I even don´t have the impression to get new sets, but revamps of old ones. With the exception of the Fort. One can never have too many different buildings.

Okay. Signing up for me, my wife and my daughter. Although she´s not even a year old then

N130S: Glad you like it! I couldnt speak a single Russian word for my life, otherwise I would have gladly volunteered to translate your story Wouwie: good to read that, as I am planning to make the PSM storyline a little more mature and realistic, while still keeping the "spirit" of EF. Spent 8 years in the military service, that might help a little, too

Better late than never Thanks for so subtle pointing me to your introduction thread Welcome to the wonderful world of Eurobricks!
-
Cool, I didn´t know that. I did only a quick and rough search on BrickLink. Do you happen to know if they are available in green?
-
Clever guy To be honest, I already have the story laid out in detail, I just need to write it down. Without giving too many clues as to what I have in mind, it appears that great minds think alike, Wouwie

You could also use these: Unfortunatly it seems the lever base doesn´t exist in yellow or brown, but you could build a perfect field with this piece.

My wife already invited me to go to Legoland some time ago, but with the baby now I´m not sure if we can make it. Can those of us who never have been to a Legoland or to such an event maybe have some info what we might expect there? Apart from the basic "lots of fun" and "meeting interesting people in real life you always chat with on the internet".
-
Great! I love his expression here, although it´s just the basic minifig smile! Perfect photography to give some great illusion of emotion

Thanks a lot! About the Headquarter... Anytime, Trexxen! The actual modular fortress idea isn´t dead for sure. It´s still the main focus of this Project. But I want to implement the idea into the storyline so everything fits. I want to answer some questions before actually moving onto the Fortress. What about the rescue mission, what happens with Keiken, what´s this mysterious Golden City Outpost, and most important: How do the humans get back to Sentai Headquarter without the Robots noticing? Right now I´m working on some visual stuff to not only help sell the story (as in fan-fic), but also to help boost interest in the whole project. However, if I may kindly ask to leave the discussion about the Project at the project´s topic and spare this topic for discussions about the fan-fic/storyline?
