  1. I second that. If you want a cheap, fast growing and easy to build city, stick to 4-wide cars, 6-wide trucks and lots of minifigs Don´t buy the new dark bley roadplates. They are too expensive and TLC even increased the price about 1 Euro this year. Try and get older roadplates from ebay, bricklink and so on.
  2. I see what you mean. Thing is: The windscreen piece is too low. It should be at least 1 1/3 high, even better 1 2/3. Otherwise the car below needs to be deeper to fit a minifig.
  3. Smashin´! I have 2 Pontiac Fieros, a ´88 GT and a ´84 SE. And half a Formula in parts :-) But building the Fiero in LDD is almost impossible, I figured
  4. Thanks a lot! ^^ I´ll try this on my ´57 Corvette as well.
  5. Ah allright! Thanks! So both sides will have the mirror then Hard to tell from the LDD pic, but the grey piece is this: So yeah, the car already has the grill. Er... does it have the grill on both sides? You seem to know a lot about that Camaro.
  6. I´ll definetly give it a try, but still I don´t know how to extend that piece. It´s only 4 studs long and I would need 6 at least. Those wheel arches are only available in dark bley in LDD. I´ll definetly get them in the car color when ordering the parts from Bricklink. But your idea of two-tone color is interesting. I´ll give it a try! Thanks! About the platform... Actually I don´t know which year that one is based off. My knowledge of Mustang is basically this: 1966 is cool, 80ies are megablocks and the next good model is the latest, which covers everything from the 90ies till now
  7. Thanks a lot for the feedback! I had an argument with my dad about this, too. During that we found out that the passenger side mirror has to go (the original doesn´t have mirrors on both sides) and that the hood and cowl need a lot more work. It just doesn´t resemble the Camaro enough. One question, Col. Brick. Are you talking about the bley piece in the yellow designs? That´s already supposed to be the grilled piece. I could swap it with a 1x2 grill, but the original grill is vertical...
  8. Thanks a lot for constructive critics! Can you think of any other part I could use for the sloped front? I might give it a try to use the roof piece for the hood as well. That would result in only 2/3 height slope. Then again, I don´t know how I could continue the hood without having a strong gap. That piece is only 4 studs long, and that´s too short BTW: I actually got rid of the blue round plate again, since the Mustang has the Horse instead. Still, I might try to tackle some other Fords and use the plate there
  9. Thanks a lot! I agree, the smooth and sexy body of the original is impossible to capture in that size. Then again, it´s Lego. You just have to live with certain things. Anyway, my dad, my sisters hubby (any short term for that?) and I were just discussing how to improve the windscreen and we came up with the following solution. What do you think? @Wouwie: Nope, slopes and tiles won´t work, since that roof/hood-piece´s sloped edges are only half a stud wide. You will always see the difference and I wanted to find a way to hide that
  10. When building my new Mustang GT I thought about its original, the ´66 Mustang, and how I could build that. Without hesitating I set down on LDD again and designed this car. I had to supercharge it, because the hoodpiece wasn´t long enough and there´s no Lego-piece that continues the shape of that piece. Front: Side: Rear: Please let me know what you think!
  11. V-LV-21F I´d like to share my latest creation with you, which I´m quite proud of. The Ford Mustang GT (needs a different colored roof, though) Isometric front: Side view: Isometric back: Let me know what you think!
  12. Hey, of course I donßt mind making instructions. The thing is, I need to finish this car first before making instructions Therefore I need input, which hood design is the best and if there´s still more to do.
  13. Klaus-Dieter, I really like the use of those door- or window pieces for roof windows. Excellent idea and absolutely fitting. I also have to share my love for the fine details you put in your creation, especially the upper floor. I know LDD offers limited pieces, and with what is given, you did an excellent job. Without the restrictions of LDD I would have suggested some different parts being used, especially for the fountain. But what I would really urge you to do is make a second version which is bigger and offers a staircase to access the upper floor
  14. Okay, I tried some of your suggestions and this is the result(s) Please let me know which front/hood you like the most and which you think resembles the real thing most. Version 2: Same as Version 1, just put windscreen and roof 1 stud backwards: Version 3: used 1x1 slopes for the front hood and 1x4 slopes for the cowl: Version 4: Changed outer 1x1 slope to 1x3 slope: Version 5: Changed inner 1x1 slope to 1x3 slope, too: Version 6: Same as 6, just in red: Things I´ll definetly change when ordering the bricks for real: - I´ll change all miscolored pieces to the correct color. LDD just didn´t offer the parts in the neccessary color. - I´ll get chrome, silver or at least bley cups for the mirrors - I´ll add an interior - I´ll add supports to the model, so that it won´t collaps.
  15. A City Hall would be marvellous. I know we had one in Town Plan, but Town Plan just isn´t compatible to the modular concept without altering it a lot. Or is it?
  16. You want some extra baseplates?
  17. And I thought, MY collection was big... At least my sets were all 100% complete with instructions and boxes... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=279406
  18. Could you maybe show a building step of that Beacon? I donßt have my bricks with me, and with LDD Iit just doesn´t work. At least I can´t get it to work...
  19. Make it bigger Add a restroom Add a passage, so that the barkeeper can move from the public area to his work area.
  20. Happy Birthday, Asuka!
  21. I LOVE that new hairpiece! And frankly, Elsa looks totally hot for a minifig! I guess I´m going to buy me that set, but I´ll get rid of the flesh parts, though.
  22. Oh geez, I didn´t know that. In that case just get rid of the "actionfeature" completely and stick to a 2x2 white tile, paint a decal, print it and glue it to the tile. No clapper board I´ve ever seen was as big as this.
  23. You are talking about the space below the car, aren´t you? I´ll see what I can do. I cannot chop the roof any further though. It still needs to hold a minifig. I´d actually rather make the roof a tad bit higher, so I can lower it at the bottom. If that made any sense Umm... What´s so very wrong about the back? comparing it with a real ´69 Camaro the only thing that might need work are the tiles I used in the back. I should find a way to get rid of them. Other than that it looks good to me. Well... Unless I don´t find a better fitting mirror, I´m afraid they will stay where they are I´ll definetly build it for real. I just don´t have too many bricks I can use for cars. I came from Lego Space. That´s why I´m planning in LDD. Before I build it for real, I´ll order the parts I need from Bricklink. But thanks for the suggestion using yellow. I don´t know why I didn´t think of that myself. I´ll give it a try in yellow. You mean the roof? Hm. I don´t know what I could do about that. There´s not much detailing on car roofs... See, now we have a problem. I wanted to use something like this , but it just didn´t work. The hood is just too large for those pieces, and even then I couldn´t think of a way to implement the cowl. I´m more than open for any suggestion. Roofline needs to be square? Please explain a little further... I´ll try that, thanks! And a big thanks to you all for commenting and helping me! Highly appreciated!
  24. I know, the color scheme is off. That´s due to the limited part selection in LDD. But apart from the colors, this MOC still needs work. I just can´t seem to get the proportions right, and the hood as well as the fenders and rear window looks stupid. Does anybody have an idea how to get it more like the real thing?
  25. Excellent idea! I´ve been eyeing with a Challenger for a long time now. Enough is enough But first I´ll try to finish the ´69 Camaro I started earlier today. I´ll post pictures in a second.
