If we didn't have politicians and big banks playing with money and causing world-wide inflation, we wouldn't need to rely on the Chinese so heavily for cheap goods. I think the concern here is, with the articles above as proof, is that these types of issues with the chemicals in the plastics COULD creep into LEGO products. Just because it hasn't happened yet is no guarantee it won't happen in the future.

The TV ads for this have really ramped up. It's almost hard to miss one now. Everything about it so far is.... well...... awesome.

I didn't like that episode except for the animation quality. The show overall was very anti-climatic and had the feel of a very rushed story. It should have been a two-parter.

I'm watching D-Gray Man now. Starting to get into it after 4 or 5 episodes.

That is a good use of the 'stick' type chassis for rock crawlers which was pioneered several years ago in the hobby grade R/C world. I have never seen that idea tried with LEGO. Very interesting.

The position and future of Friends and minidolls in Lego?
RCS replied to Dorayaki's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I understand what you are saying. I hope to see male figures introduced as part of the Friends line. It looks like that is already planned for this year. To me, Friends was an experiment and it has been successful. I am interested to see where TLG goes with it now. I'd like to see male figures listed as the 'main' character on a few sets to see how they sell, and a more varied color scheme. Then we will start to figure out what the real driver for the customer is. Was it the minidolls and pink/purple parts, or the concept as a whole? -
The position and future of Friends and minidolls in Lego?
RCS replied to Dorayaki's topic in General LEGO Discussion
All three of my daughters love the Friends line and I think we have just about every set released before Christmas. My oldest (10) got the Dolphin Cruiser. I was pleased that it was a top toy and that moM and dad were smart enough to have purchased it in November. :) My daughters like building the sets but they don't take them apart. They are used as playsets for the dolls that they can build on their own. I think the minidoll size was brilliant because they are about the same size as many of the other dolls my daughters have and the playsets that accompany them. There is opportunity to have cross play with other non LEGO toys. My daughters did play with LEGO before Friends, but they were short periods of building something then putting them away. Now they desire new sets that get released and they are played with after they are built. One of the education subjects that comes up nowadays is how to get girls interested in engineering. I think the Friends line is one of those things that was needed to start bridging that gap. It is classic LEGO play style with figures that the girls recognize as a doll and not an action figure. While I'm all for gender equality I'm not sensitive to needing many gender neutral toys. Boys and girls just naturally like the things they like, so why not cater to that? -
Don't worry so much. Gown men still collect action figures and that seems socially acceptable. My other hobby is radio control cars and I am very happy to talk to someone who asks about it. No shame at all. If your hobbies consisted of gambling, booze, and women (guys too) I'd think your priorities were out of line.

I'll check these out. Thanks Well the news about Tron is disappointing. I would think Disney would have put more effort into it since the movies are so popular.

Wow lots of MLP fans in here. My daughters are really into it and I'll only watch it with them. I'll probably check in here frequently to see what anime shows people are watching. Current cartoons that I watch are the new TNMT (love it) and the new Tron series (waiting on season 2). Anime series I have watched and liked are Full Metal Alchemist (both versions, favorite so far), Initial D (got me into anime), Deathnote, Soul Eater, Robotech, Trigun, and Ghost in the Shell. There are probably a few others I'm forgetting.

My wife just surprised me with two Movie sets, 70800 and 70801. :D

Somehow I managed to hold on to some of my favorite things from my childhood. Those being LEGO and TMNT figures. Over the years I would pick up an odd kit on clearance just to build again. Now that my daughters are heavy into the Friends line I'm back in it again.

Hello all. My name is Robert and I have recently signed up after lurking around for the past month. I found the site while looking up info on Hero Factory sets. I recently got interested in these and I may be late to the party but I'm looking forward to the new sets. I had LEGO as a child and still have most of the parts. I was into the classic Space sets. I'm currently interested in Technic, Hero Factory, Creator, and Chima lines.
