  1. LEGO always is secretive about such a things. NXT 1 and NXT 2 is just a matter of software.
  2. Yups, so it seems sometimes parts are earlier in LDD than in real LEGO!
  3. I was forgetful again, but you luckily got them already :)
  4. Very nice work indeed! Especially the twin version!
  5. If you pm me I probably won't forget to do it tomorrow (weekend away to family right now)
  6. I think I should have them somewhere.
  7. I think that I Will let them work with those examples first. I guess indeed that PF is the best option since they need to do some programming and follow a line.
  8. It doesn't need to be just LEGO but Faller isn't suitable for different reasons. One of the reasons is that LEGO. That faller car is much lighter etc. They build arduinos inside to make the system intelligent and work together.
  9. Hi guys and gals, my students are working on an automated city. They have an automated train etc. but now they want to automate vehicles. Are there any existing ideas on how to do this (e.g. with small power function M motors). Challenge is to make them minifig size (because of the trains). Johan
  10. I don't know about that so you might want to elaborate on that...
  11. Why don't you introduce yourself first?!!! Also... try to use your spellings checker. There are more people that aren't native speakers here but... About copper tape. I have used silver tape and it works quite well (for the cross switch). Apart from that I saw that Sparkfun has copper tape. I only think the silver color is better, but apart from that it shouldn't make a difference I think.
  12. If one has a mill one can make them quite well. Some colleague of mine (mech. engineer) also did it for me. B.t.w. making it able to slip through is important to avoid torque problems in curves.
  13. Doesn't it stutter or did you include enough capacitors ?!
  14. How many dead minifigs costed that?!
  15. Of course: http://www.brickbuildr.com/view/pab/
  16. Hi fellow AFOL's, I just wanted to let you know that we have just really solved our paypal problems (I tested it with the brand new paypal account of my wife)... Sincerely, Johan http://www.ministickers.nl/
  17. "Producing physical prints from our provided 3D models prompts certain fabrication considerations. According to Wikipedia, the precision of Lego pieces is less than 10 microns. As of early 2012, however, standard Makerbot printers have an XY resolution of 100 microns (0.1mm) and a default layer thickness of 360 microns (0.36mm). We thus caution that fabrication of the Free Universal Construction Kit with current (2012-era) solutions for DIY stereolithography, such as the Makerbot, Printrbot or RepRap, may lack the precision required for reliable or satisfactory coupling with standard commercial pieces. A great deal depends on how well-tuned the printer is; thus, your mileage may vary. In any case, we expect this situation will improve gradually, but inexorably, in tandem with improvements to these vibrantly evolving fabrication platforms. The artist’s proof shown here was created in a UV-cured white resin using a commercial-grade Objet (“polyjet”) 3D printer, which has a horizontal resolution of 42 microns, and a layer thickness of 16 microns.Ponoko.com and other private fabrication services offer printing from Objet machines and other high-resolution devices." Apart from that, I think within some years this will be a very large possibility for AFOLs.
  18. Looks very nice! Now only the connections to all the other buildings, using air wires :)
  19. I think some designer told me all minifies nowadays are from China?!!
  20. Nice review!!! We bought one last saturday but my wife hasn't built it yet :)
  21. Well, at least some aspects are familiar ;) Nice work!
  22. Vry nice indeed, looks a bit like 7740!!!
  23. You could fix that of course using diodes. You actually have two reversing loops. How do you do it?! Something like this: http://www.hmrg.co.uk/techtops/revloop.htm
  24. Thank you Steve for the comments! I am just getting my bricklink parts in these days so I can finally make up for my mistake to not buy this set back when it was available. Greetings Johan
  25. Nice Starbucks cafe! I would also like to see the interior indeed!
