Problem bending tube 71986
bak318 replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
@Superkalle: At first, the question wasn't if anybody could bent it with lxfml programming. You assumed that he was asking something different then he wrote. Just like bublible said, Even with lot of experience you can ask sometimes simple stuff, just because you have for a moment a blind spot. The way you think that "new to this forum so new to ldd" is another thing.(written all over in your reaction). I'm not that into forums and joint this one to see if i like it. I use LDD since october 2008 on an almost daily base, have experience with making programs since 1986. So you can't say i'm a rookie in ldd. This additude i see here is the reason why i don't like forums, you have to crawl if you want to joint, your reaction is in a way "we are better than you". So for me this is enough reason to say "have a nice day and goodbye". -
[KEY TOPIC] LDD 4 Bugs and brick errors
bak318 replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
That could be true but there must be more. I know that problem. Last i build my opreahouse 2.0 that contains almost 26.000 bricks.Moving a baseplate is no problem. I started building a zoo with an aquarium in it. It has a lot of transperant plates and floating parts. In that model i'm not able to move a baseplate. In my experience, if you use a lot of transperant colours, your graphiccard has a lot to do. Ones i build a flat, only about 9000 pieces but a lot transperant. I had a lot of problems with it. Recoloured in plain red there wasn't any problem with moving or adding bricks. So perhaps this can help you. -

I try bent it like you want but i think it's a too narrow bow. I don't think that you can bent it that far. -
How to remove bricks limit in LDD?
bak318 replied to Legolac's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I found out that there are a few things that limits LDD. Of course the amount of bricks. The total size of your model. The colours that you use, transperant is a "heavy" colour. The use of hinges, rotating pieces. That for the program. Your capacity of your computer and special your graphic card and it's ram use effect too. Make sure your graphic drivers are updated and try to use a program that constantly cleans your ram memory. That's what i do. I can build up to 45.000 bricks, sizes of 12 by 12 32x32 baseplates but not all in once. First it slows down that's a sign. To continue building you can hide with the hide tool parts your not working on, that helps a little in speed. Colour afterwards parts with transperant colours. Make sure you keep within the grid, sometimes there's a little ofset that affects everything. Just some things i learned since LDD 2.- 3 replies

Oke, good luck with it. I hope it will work for you. Just a tip, did you ever update the graphic card drivers? I did that about 2 years ago and since than i have no problems, before LDD had some issues. I'm working right now on my operahouse 2.0. This time i add the interior and i'm at 13.000 bricks, think it end at about 20.000 bricks. If you want to use my offer let me now.

That's great news for Cara, i know how fustrating it is when it doesn't work how you want. I have today time to do it and tomorrow evening, in daytime i have to finish furniture for a client i'm building so not much time to spend on the computer. Can Cara email it to me or so? On the legosite it's hard to pass files, you must make posts in the gallery of it.

I'm willing to help you out with the two files. I can make one lxf for you. I can work up to about 25000 bricks without much problems altough i'm working on a 7 years old laptop with vista. I think that if you want it before closing time there's not much time left. How do i get the files and get them back to you?

Yes, that excists. Just set it in extended mode and type in the surchbar lattice and it shows up. It's in the box with the 1x1 with side stud. For extended mode go to view-new themes-extended.

That's a great way to get a random crowd. Is there a way to make it less random? I'm right in the middle of building an operahouse. I need to fill 288 seats with random figures but in a way that they look "normal". I mean that they can actually be in an opera, so no skull faces or wearing pizza's (although it's real funny).

Did you update the drivers for your graphic card as well? Perhaps that this is the reason for this behaviour. I'm not familiar with the mac, only windows. But since i updated my drivers two yaers ago i have no problems. Even with models with over 25.000 bricks it keeps on working fine. Oke, slow but it is working. -
LDD Tricks
bak318 replied to Nachapon Bricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I have a question about flexing. I know how to flex but i want it in a very narrow bow. In fact to roll it up. My goal is to make a hose on the reel of my sewercleaning truck. Now it's empty. Is there a way to flex it that much? I tried the flextrick but i think i want it too small.- 62 replies

Building a revolving door in LDD
bak318 replied to talos's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
That's the trick with this one. It's not connected to the floor. I used the wallelement 4215 to make the doors, with 32028 as pushbar in the middle, i put them under the round plate 6177. On top of 6177 there is a small turntable part 74340, the one that's 2x2. That one goes to the rooftop/bow/entrence whatever you made over the revolving door. In fact the door is "hanging"/ standing on the turntable. It can not fall because the height is the same as the height of the entrence. So instead of the rotating on the floor it's now on top. I wanted a revolving door in my station that didn't was strange. For a minifig, a turntable on the floor is huge to step over. On the legosite ae more pics of the station and also the lxf. Just a warning, the station is 22.231 bricks. A bit large. -

Is it something you're saying or asking? What i mean is that i put the turntable ( the small 2x2 one) on top of the revolving door. Than it's only 1 plate high and on the floor there's nothing in the way. You can do the tiles on the floor in a consisting pattern. -
How do I add a missing part?
bak318 replied to LegoJalex's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Great that you found it. I always build in extended mode. You have all bricks that in ldd and you don't have a lot of the same bricks just in other colours. Just try it if you like that too.- 4 replies
