It seems so strange to me to celebrate anniversary of something that they stopped to produce with the release of the set based on a fan made design. What if there was no Pirate Bay in time for this anniversary? I like to think that pirates are not dead to them and they announce something exciting in 2020...

Guys, this 'leaf' theme you mention... Is it a new theme that is about to be revealed soon or it is supposed to be part of the summer wave?

6 cents is a very good deal. I wouldn't call it normal though. My personal (and I think it's common, but not 100% sure) threshold is 10 cents per piece, which is a good ratio. Whenever it goes over that - it's overpriced territory, everything below is good. It also really depends on the size of the set; I allow 11-12 for small sets, while large sets 8-7 is what I'm looking forward to.

Start with buying a Parisian Restaraunt which is retiring soon. If you are serious about Lego, you can't pass that one Pay attention to the Black Friday/Cyber Monday promos. I would try to focus more on the Creator 3-in-1 and Creator expert line - if you haven't bought Lego for some time it will give you a good idea of what parts are around today and it will help you grow your bricks collection very fast (because Creator is the best in terms of price/part ratio). If you like Space, take a look at the Space City subtheme, which is the only space we have now (and probably will be the only one for quite some time in the future). And of course, Modulars are your best bet. A lot of parts, interesting building techniques, (relatively) compact in terms of the number of parts vs space they require when assembled.

Does anyone know if the GWP mini version of batmobile going to be available later on its own? I don't plan to purchase the huge set, but I really love the minifig version...

They could be perfect for Winter Village sets, for example.

I kinda wish that Ninjago makes way for something new. A bit tired of it after so many years. I wanted to say the same about Star Wars, but it would have been silly :)

Love the recently announced 4 sets. Each and every one of them is awesome - design, builds, colors... I'm going to buy all of them. Safari Jeep and these saved the City 2020 lineup for me. The only thing I wish they did for 2020 is adding more Space sets. But I guess I should be happy that we got what we got in 2019 at least.

It would be amazing if they did something. I just really hate stickers. I'm so disappointed in seeing stickers for headlights again. Even if it's not financially viable to make a new piece just for the headlights - why not choose something close. There are plenty of transparent pieces to choose from.

I like everything in the burger truck except for the wheels. I hope they include 4 normal wheels in the set (i can see two in the alternate build). Toy store is... fine I guess. What's with all big wheels in every set - I don't get it. Overall not too excited. Either it's me or something is happening with Lego. I used to like just about everything they produce. Now hoping for a good modular and expert vehicle to redeem this new wave for me.

Of all the announced sets for 2020 so far, SC are those I like the most. And I never collected them. Ferrari is a masterpiece!

But that's not bad, right? Gives us the option to not apply them!

I feel like they want to grab a little bit more of the audience age pie with those, so that they can increase sales. However, that means that 7-8 y.o. kids, who also like police (and understand a lot better what police and criminals actually are) are getting simple and less interesting buildable toys, for the sake of 4-5 y.o. children getting into Lego earlier and transitioning from Duplo smoother. I don't have a problem with 4+ junior sets - I have a problem with the 5+, which used to be labeled as 5-12. But they are not anymore. Lego is supposed to be a clever toy, it's supposed to teach kids something, present a challenge. It's one of the main reasons why it became so beloved and popular in the world. Even the instructions back in the 80s-90s were much better from my POV because they made you really pay attention and building from instructions was more fun, like solving a puzzle. It would be nice if they could do more advanced police sets and 4+ police sets as separate lines, instead of trying to merge them. So that pre-school kids and kids that go to school both get police and fire and learn to build appropriate to their age.

I like the motorcycle from helicopter chase and.... that's about it! LOL. I thought Police line has been sliding downhill since after the 2008 wave. But this... It's racing downhill. It's just a joke! I get it, we can justify these are targeting 5 y.o. kids, but come on! Kids were around 10 years ago and did OK with the level of the complexity there was. It seems like they are starting to forget what Lego is all about and repeating the same mistakes they did in the early 2000s. This makes me worry about the other sets in the City lineup. If their main flagship - police - is getting such treatment. On the side note - just took a look at the new Friends sets. They look amazing and better each year! All the above is my personal opinion. I'm happy actually. Going to save some money for the expert sets this year!

What I usually do when I run out of space is disassembling some older sets, packing them away in a cool, dry place if I want to keep them as is until I move into a larger place or adding them to the parts pool if I plan to use them as parts for MOCs only.

I think the price dropped at some point to $15 so this is the full price now, but it's still worth getting on sale (especially if you manage to grab it at $7.5 as Maple did). Yep, it's weird that they don't even sell it at Lego online store. I hate exclusives tbh. Lego should be available to everyone and everywhere.

I have to share this. I just recently bought a Target (USA) exclusive set called 40358 Bean There Donut That. I got it on sale for $10 and boy was I in for a treat. I might be late for the party as it's a 2018 set, but I was just amazed by the quality - it does stand out from most of the City stuff of a similar price range for me. First of all the build of the little coffee stand was surprisingly Creator-Expert-like, it so solid and packed with a bunch of small details. And all the accessories that come with this set - like all the sweets, 4(!) cups, awesome Azur bike with the bag, a dog and 4 minifigs... I strongly recommend getting one while you can, especially if you see it on sale.

I'm looking at 11005 and 11004 from 2019 as a potential source of getting parts for cheap. However, they seem to have too much variety/colors, while the quantity of each colored part is really low - like 2 or 4 max. I know they could be good for kids who start to get into Lego... But what do you guys think? Are you buying these for parts?

I don't apply stickers for the most part. I do that only when the part seems to be something I wouldn't use in a MOC. Like a really big part. The main reason is that I don't want to remove the sticker that was applied in case I will need that part later. That being said I don't throw any of them away.

That's an easy one because I own one. The car is a pretty cool build, unusually huge (8-wide) for the period it was introduced. I can see some play value in it, however honestly I wish they did something more than just gates, or better yet, used the parts to build the helicopter decently. It looks like half of the helicopter and it feels like one when assembled. Overall, can be good for young ones. For adults - not so much apart from getting the high profile tires, I don't really see any value. It was a gift and a kind of set I wouldn't think of buying for myself, but after building it I can say it's slightly better than it looks on the picture.

I don't mind any of these, or basically any theme that I'm not interested in. What I do mind is that we are not getting anything from the classic stuff as it seems again. The more Lego tries these odd licensed themes the more I guess they will learn. Why did they stop with the Simpsons by the way? Isn't it a more popular franchise than Trolls or Minions?
