  1. Thanks for the info, guys! That would be really nice! I also hope for the continuation of the City Space subtheme although I'm not sure what else could be added to it.
  2. When does TLG usually announce new sets? Is it around December?
  3. This. I am so much looking forward to this set. Now we need a new proper pirate ship, too, something to attack the Imperial Flagship and then dock in the Pirate Bay with treasures! Sorry, got carried away a little..
  4. Yeah, it's just that for my personal taste I didn't like the color scheme. But definitely sets like 7189 with a Mill and10223 Kingdoms Joust were true gems.
  5. You made the right decision. It is even better than it looks in the pictures. It's massive, has a dragon, and overall I think it's the best castle Lego has ever made in the Castle theme. This theme is awesome. I was lucky enough to come out of my dark ages right about the time it appeared on shelves and I bought 13 sets (I think I got all of them) including the famous 10193 which, along with 7094 I personally think are the best castle sets of all time. That being said, I don't own any of the LotR and Hobbit sets, so I can be wrong. Kingdoms that followed were kind of meh for me. I didn't like the overly bright colors everywhere and the builds just seemed too simple. Nexo Knights - no comments. It's not a castle theme from my pov. I still have hopes that Fantasy castle theme will return someday with more sets, factions, and a couple of expert builds. Lego doesn't have any clash with licensed stuff like they have with space/Star Wars, so I'm not sure what's happening there and why we don't have a proper castle theme now.
  6. When I was a child all sets that I got were $15 RRP tops in the 90s prices. However they were not sold at RRP but much higher. On top of that, my childhood was spent in Russia exactly when USSR collapsed and the roubles were falling every week for years(!). And even those small sets were a huge deal for my folks. Now talking about the US today, I really can't see how Lego is unfordable. MacDonald's meal is $7-9. Unless a person is extremely poor, who is ever going to have trouble finding $20-30 for a child's birthday or Christmas? We buy silly smartphones for ourselves for hundreds of dollars... So the affordability of Lego is all about the priorities. Saying that my personal view on buying expensive Lego sets for a child is negative, like any other expensive toys. It's very easy to spoil a child. And very easy to make the child not appreciate their toys. And for me being an AFOL, it is a very hard decision, because I do buy expensive sets for myself.
  7. I would be crazy happy if that happens in my lifetime. My favorite space theme of all times.
  8. It still is (and probably will be for a long time) stronger than a completely new in-house "franchise" from Lego. Meaning even if SW is not as strong now as it was in specific periods in the past, it still is a supermassive franchise and Disney would need to completely abandon it and even then it will fade out slowly. That being said, I would love to see new original space-themed sets from Lego, but I just don't think we will see them soon.
  9. The only thing I like about it is the price-to-part ratio. I was hoping for a nice VW village set, and I agree it could have been worse. But still, there are so many great sets I want without second thoughts, that I'm going to pass on this one. Not a fan of buying sets and then working on them to make them look proper. I can see a value in this set for a person who doesn't have any VW sets or has only Santa's workshop and might like for what it is, but for me personally - it's not there. I still don't have the train and the train station - would go for them instead.
  10. I think they will retire both. I'm in the same boat, I need both of them and don't have money for both. AS had already been in "backorders accepted" status not too long ago (in Lego online store) so I'm probably going for it first. I'm not an expert on how this store works, but for me, it's a sign that they don't have too much stock of it. Walmart sale that was mentioned above lasted literally several hours and was very difficult to catch.
  11. I miss true original space theme so much. I don't buy Star Wars - not that I don't like the franchise - I do like it very much, but not in the Lego form. I just don't see any interest in getting SW display models. The great thing for me when I was a child was to get a new Lego catalog and see what they have come up with this year. It just seemed fresh and new. I have the same feeling today when I'm seeing new sets in other themes, even as mundane as City subthemes like Fire, Police, etc. With Star Wars when I see new sets I get the feeling - ah OK, so they built this ship again, or they recreated the scene from a movie. Nothing is new because it is based on what I have already seen. However (and even taking into account that we don't have Castle and we don't have Pirates) I feel like the present day Lego is probably even in a better era than it was in the 80-90s. Yes, I miss those old classic themes a lot, but my current wishlist is already so long and hitting my wallet so much, that from some perspective I'm even happy that there is no new Space Sci-Fi on the horizon. I mean look all those incredible creator expert and ideas sets we are enjoying right now. This is something we haven't even dreamed about in 80-90s. I will still wait for that day when true, original space will come back - but while waiting - there is still quite a few sets to buy.
  12. Thank you! That's what I will do!
  13. Hey guys, I wanted to ask for advice. I'm considering buying a people pack set (outdoors one, but also considering the others, fun at the beach i.e.). I like those very much, but considering the prices of these packs are high, and without getting into too much detail - can you recommend them? The only thing I'm concerned about is how unique those minifigures and accessories generally are in these types of sets? I haven't been buying any sets for some years and recently got back to it, and I want each set to have something new and unique, but I didn't want to dive deep into the product reviews, because for me they eliminate the surprise factor of opening a new set. Thanks in advance for your opinion!
  14. I hope that's the case. Really looking forward to that subtheme.
  15. Does anyone know what happened with 60229 space set (Rocket Transport)? I think it was on Brickset before the images were released and now it is gone...
  16. I like how this building looks and the interior, too. The only thing that seems slightly weird to me is the two types of parapet you used on the roof. Is that because of the lack of these parts or this is by design? Anyway it works as a great secret agents base, good work! Yes, please! :) I'd look at them with pleasure. Even maybe you can shoot a short video..?
  17. Thanks very much for the warm welcome!
  18. Hi all! My name is Anton and I'm glad to enter this community and to expand the circle of communication taking it to the new international level Well, please excuse my weird English as I'm still working on improving this and maybe sometimes it will be complicated to understand what i'm talking about.. I'm kind of an AFOL (26 y.o.) with the exception of the fact that I'm not that great MOC builder, I'm just an adult fan, who had returned to Lego in 2007. I'm constantly trying to free some time for improving my building experience, but this is becoming more and more difficult with years. My favorite Lego themes are City, Castle and Space (both classic and the new sets), actually I like almost every theme except maybe I don't understand bionicles... Lego is not the only hobby I have, but it surely stands in the first line. That's all for now I think...
