This is very creative. I think the Necromancer's horse should be black though. Still, excellent work.

I'm not as familiar with the workings of LDD as others around here, but I think you've made a great ship. If it's possible, I recommend finding a way to make the sides "slope" so that it's more realistic and fun to look at. Is there any chance that we'll see a brick version of this soon?

It looks great so far. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the review on this one. I really wish we had more sets like this today but with updated colors (i.e. tan for the sand instead of yellow, etc.).

Fixing loose clutching bricks
Tycho McKorley replied to super curry max's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thank you for your insights on this. I have wondered about this issue for some time and you have explained a lot of it to me. Hah, that's actually a pretty funny story. I think the test scenario was unrealistic anyway though because I doubt too many children bought or acquired such an expensive set. AFOLS, the ones who really probably wolfed down that set, probably don't expose their Lego to so many temperature extremes.- 42 replies

You've certainly done a lot to avoid the "blank wall" problem that plagues so many castles and fortresses. I think it has turned out really nicely although if I had a criticism, it would be that the tower's ramparts look a little cramped.

This Castle will fall...
Tycho McKorley replied to RobinBobinTheGreat's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Very nicely done. Maybe the wall broke because some frozen water ruined the foundation? Anyway, it looks great for its size. -
This looks great. I love the custom stickers you made for their hats.

It looks like you have a nice start here. I like the tiled floors for "wood." It'll be interesting to see this when it's finished.

Alternative MOC 10176 Snow White Castle
Tycho McKorley replied to alanboar HK's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think this is great, but my absolute favorite is the custom Snow White. Nice work. -
This looks like a lot of fun. I can't wait to get my hands on one!

I don't know what you're planning to build exactly, but I've found in my most recent attempt to build a ship that brown or reddish brown tiles are very, very helpful. If you get an assortment of 1 x 4, 1 x 6, 1 x 2, and 1 x 1 tiles you should be able to make a very nice looking "deck." That's just a thought though.

BrickArms Musket Prototype

These look very exciting. I can't wait to get my hands on some of those bayonets! -
My goodness, this is the cutest castle I think I've ever seen! I love it and think that working in that scale is very original. Nice work.

Too large signatures annoying
Tycho McKorley replied to Superkalle's topic in Forum Information and Help
So out of curiosity, is my signature too large and/or annoying? I'll change it if there's a forum consensus that it is That said, I like pictures and links in signatures. If a builder links to a great MOC of his or hers, I love it because it's just more inspiration for me. -
Custom The Last Airbender Minifigs
Tycho McKorley replied to tin7_creations's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
These are really a lot of fun. I wasn't a fan of the movie, but I loved the cartoon series (Does that make me an AFOA- Adult Fan of Avatar?). Even though you based these off of the movie characters, I still think you've done a great job capturing the look and feel of them. Excellent work. -
When I first saw this, I thought you'd just added hull sections to an otherwise plain BSB. On closer inspection, however, I realized how much you've done with this MOC. Nice work.
-
Excellent build. I actually like this MOC better than I liked the scene from the movie.

Six years ago I took a stab at building a cathedral of my own (see my signature). Now, I recognize that now my creation is outdated because it doesn't use all the modern building techniques. However, I did learn the importance of laying out the columns in the nave and transept first. They end up controlling the roof height and the general feel of the MOC. So, if I could give you advice, layout the columns NOW and you'll end up with something marvelous. By the way, what you have so far looks very, very good.

Tournament of Retribution II Entry: Round 2
Tycho McKorley replied to Capt. Thomas Foolery's topic in Pirate MOCs
Yar, that be the best these eyes 'ave seen this side of the seven seas. -
I like it. It's detailed and well-done for a small creation.

When you do get pictures, I'd love to see them. Your creation so far is one of the best with prefabricated hull sections I've ever seen.

As far as I'm concerned Lego is meant to be pulled apart and recombined into MOCs where we make the scale work for us. :-)

This is truly an amazing MOC. I really like the custom decal of the hand grabbing the battle droid.
