  1. It's still looking wonderful. It's definitely inspiration to me as I complete my own MOC ship. Thanks for sharing.
  2. This is quite a mysterious MOC. I think it gives the feeling of despair for the poor sea voyagers quite well.
  3. Despite the fact that my allegiance lies with the Redcoats, I do think this is a great entry.
  4. This display is so much fun. I think the combination between Space and Pirates is hilarious. Excellent work.
  5. I think it looks great and I really like how it integrates with your other creations. Is your goal to eventually build a large castle based on Playmobil-inspired sections?
  6. I think I'll opt in here for the Vikings line and the Forestmen. Both of those were classics that really added to the general Castle line of sets.
  7. Ooooh, I love the curving entryway to the car wash and the little station to pay for the service. My local car wash looks a lot like that. You've successfully captured its feel without ever having seen it. Nice work.
  8. Thank you for the nice comments. I do agree that it might look better if it were longer and I might just have a revision in the works. Out of curiosity though, did anybody notice that the deck is made of the wooden wall pieces (like the ones in Lego's viking fortress or in Fort Legoredo)? Does it work or would smooth brown tiles be better? I'm making another ship of sorts and I could use feedback on this.
  9. I think it's safe to say that women have caused the downfall of many a male knight. ;-) Nice vignette.
  10. Nice picture, but the file is HUGE. Any chance you could scale it down for us?
  11. My first Pirate set was the following: The year was 1991 and I was 5 years old. Oh how I loved that pirate! I played with him until his arms wore off.
  12. Hello Eurobricks Castle and Historical Themes Fans, I actually posted this over at Classic-Castle a few weeks ago, but I thought I'd give it a run here in case anyone we interested. I've always been partial to ships from medieval times so I decided to put together a cog. I don't claim it's historically accurate, but it has the stumpy look most cogs seem to have possessed. I imagine this vessel would sit rather low in the water. I decided not to put crenellations on the fore and aft castles because I thought the smooth railings looked better. The Viking shields are not the best, I know, but I like them regardless. :-) Anyway, here are some highlights: Here's a view the ship from the front. I'm not entirely sold on the brick-built sail, but I think it works for now. This is a closer view of the ship from the side. Here's a better view of the triangular front. The angled flat pieces that compose the floor do lie flat on the surface timber wall pieces, but I used a lego hood and some clever engineering (not shown) to keep it anchored securely. The captain of this ship has a very advanced and possibly anachronistic instrument. Finally, here's a comparison shot of the cog with Lego's classic BSB. Here's the Brickshelf folder. And here's the Flickr page for those who prefer that service. Let me know what you think of my MOC. I would appreciate any recommendations you have for its improvement.
  13. Happy with his Lego

  14. The ratlines are really impressive. Is that real lego string or did you buy more of your own?
  15. Those custom cannons are awesome although they're composed of pieces that are relatively rare for me. I need to find good custom cannons like that that are made of abundant parts (note likely). The battle is nice too. I was wondering if it might be Waterloo or something like that.
  16. Well thank you. That part is always a hit when I display it in real life.
  17. I declare my love for the new dragon knights. Their emblem is much cooler than either the old Black Knights or the Dragon Masters' emblems.
  18. Since the original set was wonderful it's not much in the way of a surprise to say that a recreation of it is great. However, I think this MOC also demonstrates that the two shades of brown does give anything with "wood" a nice realistic flair.
  19. Beautiful. I think I've officially been inspired to get working on a ship of my own thanks to you.
  20. I suggest that it doesn't work very well. In fact, in my own most recent creation I had to make some compromises on the final floor and include some bley bricks to finish the project. Suffice it to say that every time I see that particular bley area it drives me nuts. It makes everything look yellow and ugly despite the fact that I only have six or seven bley blocks amidst a sea of old grey.
  21. This is a good first start. That said, is that a Playmobil feather in that pirate's hat?
  22. It looks beautiful despite the bad lighting. I think the dark red coloring really makes it stand out.
  23. You mean hardy and willing to do whatever it takes to win?
  24. Nice ship. I like the use of lightsabre pieces to make lasers. Out of curiosity though, what scale do you imagine it is? Is it the classic Lego ISD scale or is it something entirely on its own?
  25. I think that your custom sails are very nice. I also like the small mounted guns you've given the vessel. My only suggestions is that it might be nice with a more "unified" color scheme. I think the white clashes a bit with everything else.
