Actually in this case, if they run out of the promo, you could always hope they'll do what they did last time, which is to allow you to pick any SW minifig you want. Got back from the store. They strictly limited 1 TC-14 per person. They did have 8091 Republic Swamp Speeder for $7.50 each , so I got a bunch of those.
-
I wouldn't trust them entirely on that. It's happened to me twice where they delayed the order and later told me that they ran out of the promo. I think I still have a order from about three years ago that's still in process because the promo never shipped. Just to answer my own question, all seven of my online orders are in process and one of them has already shipped. Off to the store now.

I ended up buying 150 of these BPs. Now I'm left wondering what to do with 150 AT-AT commanders.

I've placed a total of six orders. Four of them say "in process." Two of them say "customer service." Anyone know what that means? It's making me hesitant to place additional orders. I plan on going to the Lego store tomorrow and doing some real damage. I wonder if they'll limit me there too.

I've placed four orders now. Got the TC-14 and the poster, but I haven't ever been given the TIE Mini. Is it part of the promo in the US? I don't see a reference for it on the Lego site.

Got 42 more battle packs. Should have been more patient and waited for May. But I did receive a discount on them ranging from 20-30%.

Good for you. You have a great mom.

I'd prefer one faction at a time. I hate getting so many Commando Droids instead of getting more clones. What do you prefer?

The chances of a Starbucks barrista knowing anything about their wi-fi access is about nil.

There are lots of companies that will offer a limited number of con exclusives online for their fans that can't make every convention. IMHO, Lego should adopt such a model.

I'm frequently surfing in cafes and found that my local Starbucks blocks the EB website. It's the only website that I know of that they block. Is there something special about EB that would cause it to be blocked?

That's a pretty good haul!

Thanks for the trip down memory lane SirSven7. I agree that they green torso guy is pretty good. Since my Forestmen population is large enough, I've paired that torso with the green unicorn shield to create a new faction, which I think is a good-looking combo.

Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
madoka replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I noticed that his army has really ballooned. A dedicated/semi-obsessed teenager could make quite a bit of money to get what he has. He's actually getting close to the size of my clone army. What impressed me the most was his storage space. Having that many built sets sucks up space like crazy. His parents must be super-supportive to allow that. -
I concur. Furthermore, I think that torso looks good with the new St. George shield, like so:

How many and what kind of figs do you use to enhance your Death Star
madoka replied to moop's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I recently bulked up on TIE Fighter Pilots and converted a bunch of AT-ST drivers to DS Technicians. You can also add Imperial troopers and the new DS Trooper (which looks fantastic). -
I do this several thousand times a year, so I maintain a large parts collection for this very purpose. I've got over 20,000 helmets, 5,000 armor, and storage boxes filled with torsos, legs and heads. I'm ready to complete or accessorize nearly all of the minifigs I routinely collect.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
madoka replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sorry if this has been asked before. I could not find it in any searches and what I did find seems contradictory. Bricklink lists the dome of R2-D5 as being a separate piece from the dome of R2-Q5. Are they the same or different minifig? -
I secured a new source of heads and legs, so I started buying again: - 240 Crown Knights - 150 Dragon Knights - 200 Lion Knights

I hate thieves like this guy: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Star-Wars-Ep2-Clone-Trooper-4482-7163-/250978437930?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a6f7b0b2a#ht_1003wt_922 He's preying on those that mistakenly think they are getting an entire army of figs. This raises the question: if someone were to fall for his scam, would ebay enforce the deal or refund the money?

I shop extensively for minifig parts and I can tell you that PAB is very often much lower priced. For example, the white horse used to be priced at $0.75 on PAB (now it is $1) while BL prices were about double that. The castle helmet is a color not readily available on BL and it is priced at about 50-75% cheaper than BL. Not to mention the fact that I could add 999 of them to my cart. Only a few BL shops have the kind of quantities I want. I could go on, but you get the point.

How much did you spend on Lego in 2011?
madoka replied to Legacy Man's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My best guess would be around $22,000 for the year. I need to learn to sell some of this stuff. I've actually considered hiring some kid to handle all the sales. -
Ideal would have been if it came with a shield. . . and priced at $1.99.
-
Why yes, I do technically have over 1,000 Dragon Knights and over 1,500 Lion Knights. However, I have 700 of these guys: And 800 of these guys: So I broke them up into two separate factions.

Having bought several hundred of the current Lion Knights I'm pretty well aware of the market and I be very confident to say that the price won't fluctuate very much in the next 2-4 months.
