Street Fighter minifigure project

I love your minifigures. Very creative use of lego parts and custom parts. I can tell this will get really expensive if I keep doing this. Thanks for the Rose seggestions. I had a female surfer sitting right in front of me and I didn't even think about using her torso for Rose. You have a really good eye for this. -
Street Fighter minifigure project

Thank you. I may start working on another series soon as I'm starting to run out of ideas for the remaining SF characters. (How in the world would I ever be able to make someone like Rose short of making my own parts?) I would love to see your FF and MK stuff. MK sure would require a lot of face masks... -
Hello. I've been working on creating minifig versions of the characters from the Street Fighter franchise. I did not create any custom parts I've only been looking for the best representations I could find among existing lego parts and a few custom accessory shops like Brickforge. My goal is to create minifigs that anyone could create themselves by spending a few bucks for parts at Bricklink, Brickforge etc... Anyone is welcome to contribute any ideas. If this goes well, I may try some more of my favorates like Tekken, Mortal Kombat or Final Fantasy. SF Alpha Adon (hair from Brickforge) Cody (needs striped legs) Rolento (beret from Brickforge) Guy Sakura (forgot red gloves) Birdie Sodom (waiting for part in the mail) Maki (waiting for part in the mail) Karin (no ideas yet) Dan (no ideas yet) Juli (no ideas yet) Juni (no ideas yet) Charlie (no ideas yet) R. Mika (no ideas yet) Gen (no ideas yet) Rose (no ideas yet) Ingrid (no ideas yet) SF2 Ryu Ken Dhalsim Zangief Guile Chun Li Blanka (I already changed his head since this picture to the CM series 4 monster) Cammy (hair/hat needs work) Fei Long T Hawk Akuma (holding my breath for the mad scientist hair in dark red) Vega M. Bison Dee Jay (waiting for part in the mail) E Honda (waiting for part in the mail) Sagat (waiting for part in the mail) Balrog (no ideas yet, red boxing gloves coming in CM series 5!) SF3 Yun Yang Remy Hugo Alex Makoto Dudley (windy day) Urien Q (no ideas yet) Sean (no ideas yet) Twelve (no ideas yet) Ibuki (no ideas yet) Oro (no ideas yet) Necro (no ideas yet) Elena (no ideas yet) Gill (no ideas yet) SF4 Abel C. What minifigs are we missing - post your detailed suggestions here
mo123567 replied to CopMike's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The same can be said about indiana jones or any other theme. Every theme isn't for everyone. Some LEGO fans don't even care for minifigures at all. I'm definately not saying they should change the collectable minifigure line. I'm suggesting this as something separate. Also, I would expect that if this ever happened that it wouldn't be a random mess of different licensed minifigures but more like waves of releases that are theme specific and would most likely correspond with a game or movie release/rerelease etc... -

I would love to see that. I even suggested that on one of their surveys. I'm currently trying to make a collection of Street Fighter minifigs. I would love for LEGO to create licensed minifigure collections for things like Street Fighter that are character based and do not really need sets. There are so many game and movie characters they could make. Hopefully the license fee wouldn't be too expensive. Considering the popularity of LEGO minifigs right now, it would be good advertising for any company to have their characters immortalized in minifigure format. Also, it would be a good way for LEGO to bring in new fans. -
Which are better, light flesh minifigs, or yellow ones?
mo123567 replied to Sirius Black's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I prefer yellow because I have more of them. I just don't like the way more realistic flesh tones look next to yellow and I also do not like torsos that can not be used with yellow heads because some skin is showing. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion
mo123567 replied to eiker86's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I agree that the more the marrier as far as series size is concerned. There are so many things they've yet to touch on and they are already doing repeats like the skater and the clown, which is fine with me as long as they keep releasing these at such a fast pace. I would also like it if they just increased the box size to 64 and put 4 of each figure in but I suspect that they hope to sell more repeats to people who just want one of each and are looking for that elusive fisherman. I don't want to give them any ideas but I'm surprised they haven't made even rarer figures like 1 in every 4 boxes. Now that would be a nightmare. -
Minfigures: When is there too much detail?
mo123567 replied to mo123567's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It seems like most people welcome variation and detail when it comes to printing and accessories if it is done well at least. Let me toss one other thing into the discussion. How would you feel if LEGO released some variations on the torso legs or human head molds, even if they were still compatible with existing parts? Maybe something like the curved female torsos at arealight.com or even more detailed molded on patterns. How about human heads that are shaped more realistically? -
I'm a pretty unskilled builder. I've mostly been trying to build Cafe Corner style buildings and trying to find ways to make my buildings as interesting to look at as the official LEGO releases.. you know, so I can put them next to eachother without cringing in disapointment. Being fresh out of my darkages I started with stacking, stud side up, even thinking I was clever using slopes and inverted slopes, to give my buildings some depth. It just wasn't cutting it so I started using SNOT to add a more detail. Most of what I do though is just for decoration and not well planned. I find myself leaving open studs on the sides of my buildings for future use before I even know exactly what I'm goint to use them for. Basically, I see a part that looks boring and I toss some SNOT bricks there so I have more options to experiment with later. Some of the SNOT work I've seen, like on rocks at the base of some castles, looks very well planned and I can't even imagine where to begin when building something like that.

This is a question for minifig fans. If you don't like minifigs then this obviously doesn't apply to you. LEGO minifigues are very simplistic. They are not very posible. The shape of the head torso and legs remains very simple and undetailed. All males, females, and children (other than shorter legs) have the same body shape. Most of us wouldn't have it any other way. The basic head, torso, and leg mold has remained mostly unchanged throughout the years but detail has greatly increased in other areas. Hair and accessory molds have become much more varied and complex. Printing on accessories and the minifigs themselves has increased in detail. Every now and then we get an alien head or ape mask etc.. that has a more complicated and detailed mold which stands in contrast to the basic cylinder head on most minifigs. We've also seen the addition of more realistic flesh tones as opposed to the classic yellow minifig skin color. My question is: When has it gone too far? A lot of us choose to buy lego minifigures when we could buy much more detailed and articulated action figures. How much detail can a minifig have before it loses it's simple charm?

I'm sorry but I've given a lot of my money to the LEGO company and if I have a pile of bricks I am going to save a bit of my time by referring to them as legos (I didn't even capitalize the L) as opposed to LEGO bricks. If I ask someone to give me a plastic brick they will probably reply "you mean a lego?" provided there are some nearby otherwise they would be clueless. I could also say "please hand me blue LEGO" as opposed to blue legos, and I would likely only get one brick and an odd look for sounding like a caveman. I actually think that shows your brand dominance if people generally refer to small plastic bricks as legos. If your brand name is synonymous with what you make then you are doing pretty well. If a kid tells his parents to buy legos as opposed to plastic interconnecting bricks, wouldn't that decrease the chance of them accidentily coming home with megablocks? Actually, it doesn't really matter. I'm just messing around with the wording. I'm surprised LEGO even brought it up. Either way they are raking in a good part of my income.

I had come up with a bunch of ideas, then I found a bunch more online, including this thread. I also found that most of my great "original" ideas have been thought of already. Hmm... I wonder what would be more profitable? 1. Glueing all magnet sets including star wars or... 2. discontinuing star wars magnet sets and leaving the rest unglued. or even better, just give up the whole magnet farce with all the non star wars lines and just sell people the minifigs they want.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
mo123567 replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
They could be grouped in different ways. Some could even fit into more than one group but your grouping seems good. I would toss the Samari and ninja into historical and maybe put the elf with the horror group as all fantasy. They also could be grouped by whether they have a new mold as each series seems to a some minifigs with new molds and some without. I'm especially exicited about the elf, if that's indeed what it is, as I was dissapointed to never have elves join the fantasy castle era series. One elf is nice, a battle pack would have been great. -

mo123567 replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Series 3 sound great to me and the assortment seems very typical of what we've seen before. There always seems to be a few remakes, a few females, a few historical, a few sports guys, and a few random minifigs in each set. I hope they keep up the pace and release 4 sets a year. I don't think the intention is for everyone to be able to collect all of them unless you are an obsessed collector like a lot of us here. If you are willing to put the time and money into to it, you can get them all. It can be expensive but collecting legos is never a cheap hobby. -
D2C Designers requesting feedback for 2012 models
mo123567 replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
1. No - It's the models for sure that get me to buy the set, but I bought a second Cafe Corner for parts. 2. Individual - I like some themes better than others but I still won't buy a set if I don't like it just to complete a collection. 3. The Parthenon as it was when it first was built. I would also love to see Angkor Wat among many others. 4. A larger more detailed castle. 5. - It's probably too late, but I wanted to at least see elves before returning to the same old humans vs humans castle line. How about a battle pack at least? Maybe some day... - Love the Cafe Corner Style buildings. I'd like to see a lot more of these. At least two a year. There are so many more possibilities. - The space police bad guys are fun along with the bad guys from Atlantis, Agents, Power Miners, etc... It would be nice if the good guys in these themes were more original and differentiated as well. Aliens could be police officers too... Thanks
