LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 7 Discussion
mo123567 replied to whung's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah, I was thinking that red riding hood's face looks strangely proportioned as well. That and the appearance that the space marine's face has the face shield printed on it are the only two details that seem to bother me about this series. I still like those minifigs, though, and plan to get them. -
What licensed minifigs would you like to see...
mo123567 replied to mo123567's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I was unaware of that topic but I think this thread is different enough to justify its separate existence. We are talking about minifigs only and also things that may not even be reasonable for Lego to ever make. I would, however, like lego to consider making minifig only licenses. It would be great to see a trend where companies plan collaborations with lego to coincide with new movie releases etc... They do that already, but only with full fledged runs of sets. I would like to see it on a smaller minifig only scale for licenses that don't necessarily lend them selves well to full sets. -

Only if you stop referring to jungle boy as Tarzan. -

Star Trek is a good one. I actually can't believe they haven't done that considering the success of Star Wars. -

I like the hippy a lot but you are right about an acoustic guitar. The only guitar from Lego that we have is not very versitile considering the dated flying V design which only fits limited uses well. I want a more standard shaped guitar. It doesn't matter too much though, thanks to Brickforge. Oops, you're right. Maybe someone messed up or maybe these are... MEGABLOCKS... Reading through the posts in this thread thus far it seems like this series has very broad appeal. Some many different oppinions on what the best one is means that there aren't many duds in this series. For me, all 16 are really good this time. Nothing stands out as being boring. -

These are all executed so well. I like every single one of them. Now bring on series 8... -
What licenced minifigs, from any genre or medium, would you like to see. If you could have your own fantasy wishlist of licensed minifigs, regardless of whether or not Lego is likely to ever make it, please post it here. Let me get started: Movies: Back to the Future The Warriors Scott Pilgrim vs the World TV: The Simpsons Family Guy South Park True Blood Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles He-Man Thundercats Video Games: Street Fighter Tekken Mortal Kombat Soul Calibur Final Fantasy Disgaea Nintendo Characters Sega Characters

A good cheaper/space saving alternative to the real thing but I will save my money for the next full size modular building. I hope this doesn't undercut the full size modulars I know and love.

I'm not sure where you live but here in the northwest US I still see plenty of S4 available at stores. Also, Bricklink prices aren't too bad yet.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion

I think Lego tries to predict which minifigures will be in the highest demand and then puts the least amount of them in a box. Then, people wind up buying more unwanted minifigs while hoping to find the one they are actually looking for. That's the whole point of the blind packaging. For this reason, I expect to see only three or even two Roman soldiers per box. (hopefully not two) At least they don't make some even rarer. Imagine if they had special minifigs that didn't even show up in every box, or if they had, extremely rare alternate colors and such... -

Seeing the Roman soldier made me excited and stressed at the same time. These are going to be hard to get. I'm sure, knowing lego, they will be 3 per box. If they have a heart, they will put 5 in a box. Don't worry, I will buy them all even if I have to sell my house. I better start saving up for all of these and all the gas money money I will need for all the trips to the stores. Looks like these will be in white packaging. Um, any info on series 7?... -

Not as interesting as which figures are included but, any word on what the packaging color will be for S6? -

Leaks are not planned. They are leaked randomly by random people. There is no precedent. I would put my money on there being 16. -
I've seen no actual evidence from any of the people spreading this rumor, however, I wouldn't put my money against Lego releasing LOTR sets at some point. Whether these rumors are true or not, Lego wants to make lots of money and I'm sure they're aware of the potential gold mine here.

I love your designs. I hope Lego won't be afraid to make their designs too close to yours in fear of having to pay royalties... As far as the possible hints, I have requested a flemenco dancer previously so that would be one I can look forward to. The jungle boy could be interesting especially if it is like Brickenhead-town-dweller's design. On another note, I never quite get why there are always people wanting the CM series to end. Usually it is someone who enjoys them saying that they do not want to buy any more or they fear the ideas are running out. I for one want to see these continue for a long time. There are plenty of good ideas left and I also welcome varients on existing themes. I would love to see more dwarves, elves, alternate sports costumes, etc... Plus all the new elements are greatly adding to the ability to create our own minifigures. -
What minifigs are we missing - post your detailed suggestions here
mo123567 replied to CopMike's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That's too bad. You would think they could at least do partially transparent minifigs like they did with the rock monsters. Just make sure the areas where friction occur are not transparent. -
I agree that something like Street Fighter would not make for great sets which is why I suggested a minifigure based line. Street Fighter is very popular right now and I think the size of the market would surprise some people. The EVO fighting game championship just happened last month and brought in over 2 million unique viewers. That is just people who want to watch other people play online. The actual market is much bigger. Next year will most likely be even bigger with more people and more sponsers. I would love to see a Lego booth there. I think a lot of SF fans would love something like this. As far as violence is concerned, I would not say street fighter is any worse than some current lego themes that include weapons. Street Fighter is blood free and mostly weapon free (besides a claw here and there). I do agree that it will probably never happen though and Mario would make for a great full fledged line.

The damage these leaks do is debatable, however, once information is out, it's out. I've seen a lot of companies trying to fight leaks these days to no avail. They should either not comment on them until they are ready or better yet, quickly release higher quality official photos so their products can make a better first impression on consumers. There is no point in Lego trying to hide this info now but I agree with Eurobricks for cooperating. -

I didn't mean to imply that stands are hard to come by, just that all the other minifigures besides the Alien and the Statue of Liberty were pictured with collectable minifigure stands. I was just wondering if these two were not collectable minifigs and perhaps from a different line. It could also be just the human randomness of the person who took the pictures. Edit: I wonder if the person who leaked these pictures worked at the factory and only had access to the parts. Maybe they are not sure which parts go with which. That would explain the robot torso on the alien. Maybe the white gun goes with the female space hero for example. Most of them are pretty obvious though. -

Now that looks a lot better. Notice it has a stand now in that picture. -

I suppose anyone who could molde plastic could add the word Lego but having the superman hair seems to legitimize these as official. If the grey alien is part of the collectable minifig series, I sure hope it is preliminary and the Statue of Liberty still seems out of place to me as part of this line. -

The Statue of Liberty and the grey alien do not have minifigure stands and I believe they were "leaked" at a different time. They may not be part of the same line. I'm in the "sand green is the best Lego color for the Statue of Liberty" group. -

When I saw the the 1st two (alien and statue of liberty) I was really skeptical. Some of these look a little more convincing. - grey alien - torso printing looks bad and the body looks overall to be lacking in detail - Statue of Liberty - seems kind of specific for the collectable minifig line. Haven't they always been general characters? Backwards robe? - highlander guy - Do official lego weapons have so much printing on them? Not the ones I'm looking at right now. - leprechan - The pot looks odd to me. - butcher - Those molde marks on the cleaver look pretty pronounced for official Lego but I'm not too sure. - mechanic - One of the most convincing ones. The new moldes look like they could be official. - female skater - Well Lego does love skaters. - genie - Sure looks interesting to me. I've wanted them to make a genie for a while now. - minotuar - Another one I've wanted for awhile. I'd like to get a better look at the head. - female space hero - Looks typical. I like the new color for the pop singer hair. Overall, something seems a little off to me about most of these. While I like some of them, they just don't have that official Lego look to them. Maybe the pictures are of works in progress. Also, were the space alien and the statue of liberty from the same source? I didn't see them on the same Pockyland thread. Maybe the Statue of Liberty is one of the new regional items and not a collectable minifig. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
mo123567 replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Maybe Lego will keep series 6 a secret until after series 5 is released. If they release pictures of series 6 then I'll be searching for series 7. I'm always anticipating collectable minifigures. There are so many great ideas out there that have yet to be made, plus, I would love to have a caveman tribe, an elven village, a horde of zombies, etc... by series 50+. I hope this goes on for a long time. -
I would love to see lego release minifigures of various licensed characters from popular video games like Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat etc... These games have many characters that would be perfect for minifigure collections. They could be released in waves like the collectable minifigure line. It would be a great oportunity for video game companies to have lego minifigures released to coincide with the release of new games and an opportunity for Lego to reach new customers from the video game community. I believe the 25th anniversery of Street Fighter is coming up. What a great occasion to have their characters given the iconic Lego minifigure treatment.
