  1. That's a really nice MOC and pretty accurate judging by your reference pic. It's a shame they don't make the rear windscreen piece (from Imperial Drop Ship?) in trans-clear. Did I read correctly that you're actually considering spray painting directly onto Lego ? Could you use water-slide decals to get the desired effect instead?
  2. I was thinking of next year? I would love to see this and your other creations in the 'flesh'.
  3. Impressive, most impressive.
  4. They both look good - I'm still not keen on the hexagonal windscreen used for the UCS version but both prove that a good Tie cockpit is feasible. Come on TLG, bring it on...
  5. Can't believe I've missed this post until now. Truly amazing !!!! Will you be displaying this at MOSI Cavegod?
  6. No doubt. But to produce a metallic silver astromech, what, less than a year after the bley domed R2? - Is the Lego equivalent of Jim Bowen saying 'Here's what you could've won' .
  7. It seems bizarre to me that IF the upcoming astromech in 7915 Imperial V-Wing Star Fighter is actually metallic silver, as it appears to be on the preliminary pics, why wouldn't tlg have produced an R2 with a metallic silver top instead of light bley?
  8. Seem to be posting the same things over and over at the moment - deja-vu... 1. Tie Fighter with spherical cockpit 2. Sandcrawler built with plates instead of bricks
  9. Dude, if I spent £80 - £90 on a Chrome 3PO I wouldn't have the balls to pull one of his legs off ! - So I'd have to buy two. Then my kids would be like "Daddy why are we not allowed food this week" and my missus would just hit the roof. I think it will remain a dream. UNLESS I post it here at every opportunity and the big wigs at TLG think hmmmm what a great idea. That would be 32 wishes . But your point is well made.
  10. Thanks for all your informed answers fellas. I think I'm starting to get worried that I might miss out. I guess I'll just keep my eye out for a special offer and possibly snap-one-up then. I know only too well what you mean Zzz. My problem is I don't 100% know that I want it, but if it gets discontinued I'll probably regret not buying it. I DO realise how stupid that sounds .
  11. I like that this thread forces you to think of only four figures, but imo allowing multiple posts seems to defeat the object. Here are my ONLY four (sort-of); 1. My dream figure... chrome gold C-3PO with one chrome silver leg 2. Princess Leia - Boussh Oufit 3. Princess Leia - Ewok Village Oufit 4. If Dewbacks, Wampas & Tauntauns are classed as minifigs... a Bantha if they're not... 4. Silver protocol droid (3 in 1 = TC-14, U-3PO & E-3PO)
  12. Does anybody know when the Death Star is due to be discontinued? I've noticed S@H seem to be having a bit of a 'push' on promoting it (at least on the uk site) and this happened with the UCS Falcon just before it got deleted. EDIT: Just realised, Christmas is fast approaching so of-course TLG will be pushing higher priced sets . Question still stands though, any ideas when it will be discontinued?
  13. A big minus for me is that it no longer works on my phone. I often check lego.com for pricing when I'm out bargain hunting. Apart from that no massive change in functionality, graphics are slicker - I'm sort of indifferent.
  14. Now that's a nice UCS Tie Fighter MOC! And it goes some way to giving the impression of a spherical cockpit, something that imo has never been successful in the smaller official sets. I would welcome a new minifig scale Tie Fighter, but TLG need to figure out how to solve the shape and windscreen issues before I would buy one. - Oh, and no blue please.
  15. Sorry if this has already been mentioned (there's a lot to read through here). BUT, does the Astromech Droid with 7915 Imperial V-Wing look metallic silver? Also OT fans might like this info re R2-Q2.
  16. My vote goes too... 2 points to: 12) Diver & Surfer Entry (Build by squiz) 1 point to: 19) Skater Boy & Spartan Entry (Build by Etzel)
  17. Mos Eisley Cantina - on a similar scale to Battle of Endor. To contain Wuher, Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes, Ponda Baba, Dr. Evazan, Luke, Obi-Wan, Han, Chewie, Greedo, a couple of Sand-troopers and a Dewback (maybe even a hammerhead). Would include some special parts to create that spherical Landspeeder from outside (don't know the name), a moisture vaporator and a decent version of Luke's Landspeeder with correct colours. To complement the above; a redesigned Sandcrawler built using plates instead of bricks. Includes 3 x Jawas, R2-D2, C-3PO, Uncle Owen, Aunt Beru and a bunch of droids. Also throw in some random Tusken Raiders and a Bantha. A Tie-fighter using said special parts to create a spherical cockpit.
  18. There's so many great entries, it's hard to choose but I'm going to give 1 point each to; 4) Lifeguard Entry (Build by Dan Church) - A simple idea, well executed 16) Lifeguard Entry (Build by Plissken) - Original and funny 34) Witch Entry (Build by Athos) - Good enough to eat
  19. I am an AFOL and Lego Star Wars was my idea... Back in 1977 a six year old boy and his seven year old friend walked half a mile and then caught a bus to the nearest cinema, 5 miles away*. Like any rights-of-passage story this journey was to change their lives forever, because on that day, they saw Star Wars for the first time. After a diet of Star Trek and The Clangers this was sci-fi the like of which they had never seen before, they were totally blown away. When they arrived home they combined their Lego collections and hurriedly constructed extremely colourful and very blocky space-craft in order to re-enact the spectacle they had just witnessed. I was that six year old boy. Since then I've had my dark-times for both Lego and Star Wars (Judas!), how I came out of those is another story. *Maybe our parents were irresponsible but It was the 1970's, stranger-danger and road traffic were not an issue.
  20. Nice idea and well executed. It's surprising that Lego didn't try something similar as it adds a whole extra play feature (but that said it's surprising the X-Wing doesn't have flick-fire missiles ) Did that helmet come with the set or did you swap it from the AT-AT?
  21. It's surprising how much difference these subtle changes make. Luke looks great - I've got to get me some surf-dude hair. And your slave Leia looks way more sexy than the official version (is it wrong to say that about a minifig?). BTW I think the Leia photo is fine - you should post some of your pics in the Star Wars Lego Photography thread.
  22. It would certainly be disappointing to pay such a premium price only for it to become discoloured. Does anybody know if this is still an issue?
  23. Nice, very nice, love the articulation and the blaster. It seems that whenever I see any of your MOCs you've ripped the arms and hands of your mini-figures - what have you got against them ? Is that a droid torso you've used for the neck?
  24. Possible stupid question, but do TLG update the figures in older sets? I'm thinking if you buy the 3 in 1 rebel set you're going to end up with a bunch of rebels in old-style headgear and another bunch in new-style headgear. Plus 2 x Zev Senesca's - but he's generic enough to warrant owning more than one.
  25. Cool micro AT-ST. Very creative use of a droid torso.
