We did commemorate Halloween with some in-quest activities in 2011, but I don't think we made it into a holiday in-universe.

I know everyone set their ages in the first couple of days after the game launched, then we pretty much completely forgot about it until the first anniversary when we all decided to update our ages on the anniversary of the day we joined the game, and I don't know if any of us pay attention to that anymore. I know I started Docken out at age 31, for whatever reason, and my stats say '32' right now...I should fix that.

Ether is restored by Resting. A "safe place" basically means that you can't Rest unless your QM lets you. There's no harm in attempting to use your Bedroll, but your QM may or may not tell you that it's actually safe enough to do so. (Or do something like I did in Quest 4, and let you start to Rest, but possibly interrupt you and force you to fight a battle and not gain any HP or Ether.)

I'm torn. On one hand, letting the player choose just seems to make sense — it just seems like the right and fair thing, and it also seems simpler and more intuitive. On the other hand, the realistic approach is that if you have some special weapon letting you attack two enemies in the time it would normally take to attack one, then that second enemy must be somewhere nearby, and you wouldn't realistically have control over how your enemies decided to approach you or where they decided to stand or how they decided to form their line of battle. That would realistically be the NPC's call prior to the battle, and the QM makes the NPC's decisions, so that NPC decision of where to stand is best represented as the QM's choice of how to order the list of the enemies.

I've always formatted my enemies to match as closely as possible the standardized formatting for heroes, so closer to the latter of your examples than to the former.

'Jedi' is short for 'Return of the Jedi' — the Shadows of the Empire era of the Star Wars storyline (or at least the one that was canon at the time this game started, before Disney came along...) lies between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, so even though we haven't fully planned out every episode of the game, we know where the game's storyline has to end up at. (Avenger and Redemption join their respective massed fleets, and both take part in the Battle of Endor. Avenger is the Star Destroyer that Vader's shuttle launches from at the beginning of Jedi, and Redemption is the medical frigate that Wedge talks about during the battle.)

I know that this isn't going to seem like a lot of help, but this isn't the first time I've heard about something like this happening. While I don't know whether or not past such issues were ever resolved, considering the reliability problems Brickshelf's had in the last few years, if you don't have any pictures uploaded there right now, I would just forget about it and sign up for another site such as flickr or Photobucket or Bricksafe.
