Ah, I didn't see that. My bad.

Sorry to disappoint you, but TLG's been making parts in China for several years now*. A lot of the specialized parts that come in the thicker, more opaque plastic bags are made in China, and, notably, the CMF line is made in China.*The oldest set I have with at least one Chinese part is 7749 Echo Base, from 2009. It says "Components made in...CHINA" on the side, and it's most like the Tauntaun that was manufactured in China, in that set.

I can't answer that for you — it depends entirely on what you want to build. -

That's fine. I'm not sure what you're asking here. You just build what you want to depict your character doing. -
Index is updated regularly. Last update 6 August 2014: Added section for Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka Minifigs, Brick-built Characters, Creatures, and Props.

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion

Including other troops in your MOCs is fine, with two caveats: Firstly, your sig-fig can be customized, but all the other minifigs have to be purist. Secondly, you need to build scenes that are appropriate for your rank, so as a regular Stormtrooper, you can certainly include other members of your squad who are working with you, but you should try to avoid acting as an officer and a commander of other troops. -
I'm really tempted to have Docken demonstrate his out-of-character knowledge by walking up to Polly and giving a description of who Skrall is and where he is right now.

I'd first try to see how much you can get out of your current camera. I think you meant a Kodak EasyShare C140, and that's an 8MP camera — more than adequate for web pictures — but the sensor size is rather small and the ISO settings don't go that high. Lighting always makes a bigger difference than camera, so first make sure that you have a well-lit subject. This can be as simple as setting up next to a window on a bright day, or you get some cheap lamps and cover them with paper to diffuse the light and assemble a DIY lightbox. (There are plenty of tutorials on this online.) Either turn off your camera's flash or use something to redirect it — on point-and-shoot cameras like that, the built-in flash leads to some very harsh lighting in the resulting picture. If your camera is having trouble focusing, try backing up and zooming in, but don't zoom in further than your optical zoom will allow. (3x, in your case) Digital zoom is just the camera blowing up the picture digitally instead of using lenses, no different than what you do on a computer and always leading to blurry and/or pixelated pictures. Try using the lowest ISO setting and using a longer exposure, if your camera will allow. This means the camera has to be steady for longer, so either use a tripod or set it down on something stable. Also, set your camera's timer to five seconds or so, so that after you hit the shutter release, the camera has time to settle and stop vibrating from the force of your finger hitting a button before it starts taking the picture. -

Yeah, that would definitely not fit in with any rank of either faction, unless it was only a few times in a freebuild storyline you developed on the side. You don't need to try to find the renegade, Chaotic Neutral, roguish, so-called 'badass' third option in order to have an interesting, fun to play character. -

I suppose that after the 50 XP ranks, all of which are commando ranks, you could say you went undercover in a freebuild, though not in a regular episode (unless the episode called for disguising yourself). We don't actively enforce what players' characters look like, as long as they aren't blatantly unrelated to their faction and rank, but the whole idea of the two faction system is that you're either Empire or Rebellion, just a basic grunt working your way up to more prestigious and important assignments. I can't say that I approve of trying to find a way to get around the character rules so you can look like a member of a neutral or third faction, but we won't stop you if that's what you want to do in freebuilds once it's appropriate for your rank. -
And some people see WBD's and Pie's avatars in the Heroica forum and immediately assume the post concerns Skrall and Atramor. My brain has three years of badass lockpicking associated with someone; it needs help to let it know when to think "Newb Orc" instead!

No, it's not; there is no third faction or neutral faction. -
I agree; that'd definitely make things easier to read.

Those engines! 'NPU' doesn't cut it when it comes to describing how well you've used the limited varieties of pearl gold pieces to put together some incredible engines. And the shaping, the shaping of the vehicle is perfect. So many curves, so many subtle angles and offsets. I agree that there might be more dark blue than would be typical in a steampunk model, and I agree that all the streamlining means that the model lacks the exposed mechanical workings and Rube Goldberg machine functionality of typical steampunk. And perhaps most notably, there's no visible steam coming out of the MOC. But it looks so beautiful as it is that I wouldn't want you to change anything.

Welcome to EB. Lars doesn't post here that often, and it looks like he hasn't logged in to EB in over a year. Your best bet would probably be to message him on flickr.

Actually, I think I've only ever bought just one fantasy video game, and it's LEGO Lord of the Rings, so it's the typical LEGO puzzle game rather than a true member of the fantasy genre.
-
*raises arm to shield self from blows* I've...never played Final Fantasy. Never been a huge gamer, and aside from classics like The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia and The Chronicles of Prydain, fantasy didn't interest me as much as sci-fi.

That is true; Heroica is more of a late renaissance type of world than medieval fantasy.

Then Eubric must not be as crippled as you think — it's managed to be forward-thinking enough to adopt freedom in the medieval era! That's all right, both pagodas and mosques will increase the happiness of the citizens of Eubric, and they're good enough that if they were outlawed by Eubric's normal religion, it would be an excellent idea to get them bought before the city is converted back.
-
The people of Eubric probably decided to stick to tradition and go for three or four cities, but when the Mopag and the Brobric Elves started forward settling, there weren't very many good locations to settle in, and Eubric's leaders decided they needed a city to fill in some space and prevent themselves from being surrounded. As long as R'kilf maintains some degree of legalism, they should be able to offset some of the cultural costs, and if it keeps all those trade routes and city connections alive, increased revenue from taxing the traders should be more than enough to fund some amphitheaters and opera houses.

It was a spambot. I've taken care of it.
