Both were the players' choice for their characters, not the QM's decision.

No, I mean that by not saving Namyrra and William, the party doesn't get the XP and loot that Namyrra and William might pick up by freeing themselves in a PM side quest. In the Marketplace, WP: 8 is worth 50+60+70+80=260 Gold, a Topaz is worth 100 Gold, and the cost of imbuing it is 50 Gold, so to create an identical weapon in the Marketplace would require 410 Gold. You could probably get 300-350 easily, but it really depends on how badly the buyer wants it. It doesn't have any unique effects and its WP isn't particularly high.

I lead the party to the Misty Pond. -
My guess is that they'll be given a chance to fight their way out over a PM sidequest. And the rest of the party suffers because they get to keep all the awesome loot they'll get for themselves.

I don't know if it is, but they're both BPs. TLG reuses faces in BPs all the time.

"Shall we head to one of the medium-difficulty areas, or one of the easy areas?" -
The Rogues' strength is supposed to be balanced by their fragility. They can't consistently attack from the Back Row like Rangers and Mages can, they can't heal themselves like Clerics can, they can't tank hits like Barbarians and Knights can, and they can't use their offense as a defense by taking their enemies out as quickly as Mages and Barbarians can. That being said, I don't really think there's a significant difference between how often Rogues are Knocked Out as compared to other classes. It'd be interesting to see some definite stats on that, including how often they're healed or use a healing consumable compared to other classes.

"That's actually not a bad idea. I didn't think the Level or Health upgrades would be that significant, but having more artifact slots could be helpful. Do you guys want to go through some of the easier areas?" -

OoC: Aww. "Master Emorith, please heal Master Unth'or and myself. Master Rone, equip your Sticky Gloves, and I don't know if you want to give Master Unth'or your Loaded Die or not. Master Unth'or, do you want my White Marksman's Hat?" -

I throw a Smoke Bomb. Order of Actions: Bartholomew Docken -
You mean that's not the entire point of getting loot in an RPG?

Keep it up, guys! Oky let me know that there're some funnies that could use blogging, and it looks like it's been a while since one's been blogged, so...

I agree. I usually try not to consider the Gold Rogues get when I distribute the loot; that is their class strength and they shouldn't receive less loot for taking advantage of it. But when we're talking as ridiculous an amount as 700 Gold, then I think you have to at least think about that when you're distributing the Gold. I wouldn't ask the Rogue to give up Gold, though. If there's an item among the loot that he wants badly enough, he's probably going to give up Gold buying it from another player or offer to give up Gold to get it anyways. You shouldn't make someone spend Gold on something they don't want. I'd rather have 700 Gold and no loot than 500 Gold and an item I don't really want. I do not agree. Stats are always more important than roleplaying.

OoC: If I roll Aura, I should be Knocked Out. But Dyric can always Flee. "Okay, let's try this for another Round." I attack the Phoenix from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. Order of Actions: Bartholomew Docken Xander Unth'or Dyric Rone Althior Emorith -
They can't.I asked already.

Dyric's just over half Health. He should have 11 HP, based on Sandy's calculations. I assume the 21 HP in the stats is a mistake.

But if we raise our Levels, then the Rainbow Falls battle will be rebalanced for our new stats.
-
Yeah, that was what was decided after Sandy decided that Free Hits shouldn't do a guaranteed minimum of 1 Damage.Otherwise that Aura in this battle would've been a lucky break, not a curse.

Heroica RPG - Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory
Brickdoctor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
OoC: With those three enemies targeted, Free Hits would be: Wishing Starfish + Rainbow Frog D - Free Hit against Bartholomew Docken ((27+19)/2-15=8 Damage; 17 Health remaining) Rainbow Frog A + Mellow Crab - Free Hit against Xander Unth'or ((19+12)/2-5=11 Damage; 5 Health remaining) Rainbow Frog B - Free Hit against Althior Emorith (19/2-4=6 Damage; 0 Health remaining) Rainbow Frog C - Free Hit against Dyric Rone (19/2=10 Damage; 1 Health remaining) And by the way, Sandy, Dyric's Health in the calculations is 11 HP, but his Health in the stats is a full 21 HP. So Althior would be Knocked Out and you'd be close to Knocked Out, assuming no one rolls Damage or Special Damage. But if someone heals Althior (to full HP), the Free Hits become: Wishing Starfish + Rainbow Frog D - Free Hit against Bartholomew Docken ((27+19)/2-15=8 Damage; 17 Health remaining) Rainbow Frog A + Angry Crab - Free Hit against Xander Unth'or ((19+40)/2-5=25 Damage; 0 Health remaining) Rainbow Frog B + Mellow Crab - Free Hit against Althior Emorith ((19+12)/2-4=12 Damage; 19 Health remaining) Rainbow Frog C - Free Hit against Dyric Rone (19/2=10 Damage; 1 Health remaining) And then you're Knocked Out. And if we heal you (to full HP), the Free Hits become: Phoenix + Rainbow Frog C - Free Hit against Bartholomew Docken ((45+19)/2-15=17 Damage; 8 Health remaining) Wishing Starfish + Rainbow Frog D - Free Hit against Xander Unth'or ((27+19)/2-5=18 Damage; 13 Health remaining) Rainbow Frog A + Angry Crab - Free Hit against Althior Emorith ((19+40)/2-4=26 Damage; 5 Health remaining) Rainbow Frog B + Mellow Crab - Free Hit against Dyric Rone ((19+12)/2=16 Damage; 0 Health remaining) So then Dyric is Knocked Out. I have nothing against continuing the fight, but I think it's unavoidable that someone's going to get Knocked Out, and that will only make the Free Hits worse for those of us remaining. If we do continue the fight, I'd rather we used a Smoke Bomb instead of a Phoenix Essence. -
I'm just saying that if we use a Smoke Bomb, we go back to the Sanctuary, heal up, make sure our artifacts are properly equipped and sorted out this time around, and come back to the battle. And when you consider the cost of a Smoke Bomb compared to that of a Phoenix Essence... (or we could even keep going and just have Dyric flee)

"Smoke Bomb, guys? "Master Emorith won't survive another unavoidable Free Hit unless he's healed, Master Unth'or will only survive another unavoidable Free Hit with 1 Health unless he's healed and Remedied, and Master Rone won't survive the extra Free Hits if we take the time to heal Master Emorith and Master Unth'or and Remedy Master Unth'or."
