Knyghton's not going anywhere in the foreseeable future; he's just going to have his role reduced mechanics-wise in future quests. (I won't be adding him to most parties; it doesn't make sense considering his storyline. I have other Lion Knight NPCs who will probably see more action.) Same with Luke: still there, but reduced role, since he's supposed to be Sir Leonard's personal healer and Sir Leonard's retired.

OoC: This is a Medium battle, actually. We haven't hit the Easy Derelict Windmill or Sheep Meadow. -

"Everyone can act; the timing would still be correct if everyone got Slowed; everyone attack Aepyornis C!" I attack Aepyornis C from the Front Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. "I should go first to finish off Aepyornis A with a Counterstrike. Master Carvenhall, you should also act from the Front Row so you can finish Aepyornis B with a Counterstrike; it's already Blinded." -

OoC: Actually, if I've calculated correctly, I should be able to do this from the Front Row without being in danger of dropping below my normal max HP. ((0+0+19+19+16+16-25=45 Damage), and the Aepyornises on their own during our actions can't get past my shield (19-25=0 Damage)) That should finish off the Carp with Counterstrikes. I attack Aepyornis B from the Front Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. -

"Okay, Master Carvenhall is unable to attack this Round and according to the way we want the Slowed effect to be timed, we don't want more than one of us to be able to get Slowed this Round. Luckily for us, my Aura means that we can all pile on to the Aepyornises. Master Emorith, take Aepyornis C; the rest of us will all take Aepyornis B. I can easily handle the Free Hits." I attack Aepyornis B from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. OoC: Under the protection of the Aura, you could actually autoroll with either the existing actions or the ones I've described, Pie. It doesn't really matter that much which ones are used. -

I think you've done a great job of taking the tall and sleek Vader look and translating it into a hulking and almost completely angular mecha feel. For example, the wings on the back might have done a better job of representing the cape were they longer, but then I'm not sure if they wouldn't have looked too bulky or made the area too busy - I think that's an excellent example of the great job you've done finding the middle ground between the Vader features and the mecha features.

It means that it has been indexed I believe. Yes, it means that a link to the thread has been added to this index, to make it easier for other members to find this thread in the future.

Hmm, you could turn the battery box into some sort of maintenance area... after all, every evil lair needs a ventilation duct passageway!- 14 replies

Brickdoctor's Guide to Never Getting Criticized for Bad Roleplaying: Don't roleplay. (by the way, you can still summon a Wall of Text in the event of a particularly complicated battle involving precise coordination of actions)

Heroica RPG - Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory

"No, wait! Master Carvenhall is Slowed and unable to act on odd-numbered Rounds. If we're going to get Slowed, we want to time it so that half the party is always able to act. That means that three of us should attack Aepyornises this Round, so that if those three get Slowed, they'll be unable to attack on even-numbered Rounds. "I suggest that the three attacking this Round be myself, Master Nihai and Master Unthor, because we can Blind, Stun and assassinate, respectively. Master Carvenhall should also take an Aepyornis, since being already Slowed, he's essentially immune to their Special. Master Emorith should take Silver Carp A, and Silver Carp B can't do anything to us during Free Hits. "The Order should also be changed; Aepyornis A is Blinded and won't do any Damage with its Free Hit. Master Nihai should go first to take the non-Damaging Free Hit. "Remember, at this point, the Aepyornises' Special is the weaker of the two we're dealing with. We deal with them first and then finishing off the Carp will be much less risky." OoC: To summarize: Thormanil Nihai vs. Aepyornis A Bartholomew Docken vs. Aepyornis B Benji Carvenhall vs. Aepyornis B Xander Unth'or vs. Aepyornis C Althior Emorith vs. Silver Carp A Free Hits will then be: Aepyornis A - Free Hit on Thormanil Nihai (no effect; Aepyornis A Blinded) Aepyornis B - Free Hit on Bartholomew Docken ((19/2)-25=0 Damage) Aepyornis C - Free Hit on Benji Carvenhall ((19/2)-7=3 Damage) Silver Carp B - Free Hit on Xander Unth'or (Silver Carp B no longer Stunned) -
I wouldn't worry about the accuracy of the angle and instead take some artistic license in displaying it whichever way looks best.

I didn't see a difference between Arcana and Astral when I first maxed my Necro nor did I see a difference between Astral and CWhole when I bought WC Tops for that one. Everything after Destruction/Horror is only a small upgrade at best. I say Dia is cheap enough that any maxed char should have it or better, Astral isn't that expensive and makes you look more like a veteran maxed player, and CWhole, like all other WC Tops, is to make you look pro or to get the most out of your character if you can afford to die with it. Is anyone else having a problem where that ad that pops up when you first log on takes forever to load? I've tried to play a couple times when I know my Internet speed is fast enough that I shouldn't lag, and everything starts up fine. I get to the char selection screen and the adds on the right side load really slowly, which is okay because I can still click the char I want to play. But then I enter the Nexus and that big ad doesn't load, it just leaves me with the darkened screen and an inability to use any controls other than WASD. (sometimes it eventually loads and sometimes I come back a while later and it's still in that state)

I like this entry because it's something that I could see happening in Star Wars VII - it's got some of that satire with the inclusion of the DSIII, but it still stays within the realm of things that I wouldn't like but wouldn't be that surprised to see in the new movie. Nice job on the rockwork, too, which looks like it was excavated for the purpose of creating this evil lair without looking too artificial.- 14 replies

"We're going to have to take a chance with some of these Specials. We should continue with the strategy of targeting the Aepyornises while only one of us will get Slowed, so Master Unth'or and I will take Aepyornises C and B, respectively. Master Nihai, take Carp A; at this point I consider their Special more harmful than that of the Aepyornises and it would be great if one was Stunned. "Master Carvenhall, you're going to have to attack one of the more powerful enemies and hope for a good roll. Even with the actions I've listed above which target the highest-Level enemies, you're still going to take 33 Damage from Free Hits alone. I suggest you take Carp B to further reduce the Damage you take from Free Hits and hope that we don't roll Damage. "Master Emorith, none of the other enemies need to be targeted since we don't want Master Carvenhall Stunned if he isn't Knocked Out, so I suggest you use this Round to attempt to heal yourself." I attack Aepyornis B from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. OoC: Pie, you haven't been decreasing the Blinded effect's Rounds remaining for White Rabbit A; it should only be Blinded for one more Round. -
I think the quest would need some sort of traditional goal for the heroes to shoot for. (and if I host this open-world quest I'm planning, it definitely will have that goal) Then they're free to run around the open world and do whatever they want, and it may or may not get them closer to the goal. And in regards to reward, you don't have to give out huge rewards for what the party does. They'll keep exploring the open world because they have to in order to reach the goal that you've set, but with the lesser rewards for anything they do to help people that doesn't get them closer to the goal, they won't want to just do nothing but the small tasks that have nothing to do with the goal.
-
I've actually had since August plans for an open-world quest dealing with the aftermath of Lord Keveak's occupation of R'kilf. (it does have the traditional sort of plot and goal, so it's not exactly what you're describing; but it would allow it, having a similar setting and being open-world)

OoC: The Dread Hat prevents the Volt Ants from attacking me. It should be (((19+19+19+19+19+19+16+0+0+0+0+0+0)/2)-25=40 Damage) "Okay, since we can do it while only risking one hero getting Slowed, let's target all the Aepyornises. Leave the Volt Ants alone as usual, leave White Rabbit A untargeted since it's Blinded, and leave White Rabbit C untargeted since I can Counterstrike it to kill it. "Master Unth'or, Master Nihai and myself shall take the three Aepyornises, since we can assassinate, Stun and Blind them, respectively. Master Carvenhall, take one of the Silver Carp; Master Emorith, take White Rabbit B." I attack Aepyornis A from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow. -
This is probably one of the cleanest expansions of a set I've seen. I can't even tell from these pictures where the set ends and the mod begins, because you've so perfectly matched the building style of the set. Really excellent work.

It sold for $120 USD, and S@H lists it as retired now, so that sounds like a pretty good price. (based on what I know of LEGO pricing in Asia; I don't know what the usual increase or decrease in price is for you)
